Bobby "The Brain" DeNiro Is So Pro-Democracy He Wants a Council of Elders To Ban People He Doesn't Like From Running for President

nurse ratched asked for a "fun thread." I don't know if this counts, but maybe it does.

Batya Ungar-Sargon
@bungarsargon

This is such a perfect example of how Trump broke the brains of so many on the Left. In the name of opposing "totalitarianism" and "defending democracy," DeNiro thinks there should be a body of elites who bar people from running for office, including someone who went on to win the popular vote.

What's sad is that DeNiro is obviously experiencing immense, totalizing pain, genuine psychic distress at the outcome of an election.

So much of their hatred of Trump is just an attempt to evade recognizing that democracy--their neighbors getting what they want when they vote in greater numbers--causes them searing psychic pain.

Exactly, some points of view are so toxic to the way things ought to be, that the people who espouse them must be silenced, ensuring by social or political pressure that no one can ever admit listening to them or supporting any part of what is said, and be called fascists or antisemites or something, so it is OK to destroy them.
Cass Sunstein was big on that, and lots of people thought it was so powerful a method, they should adopt it themselves.

31 The problem for the left is that all their radical dreams were JUST ABOUT to be totally realized and Trump interrupted them. Like, the cat jumped on the bed just before orgasm.

Then he proceeded to strip away one thing after another that they had imposed on us in their insanity, like tranny bathrooms and USAID graft. From their perspective this is like mom coming into your room, ripping all the posters off the wall and taking away your console game. Its someone desecrating their shrine to Ruth Bader Ginsberg.

83 I don't think they are necessarily broken. Their way, the way of the left, has been the ruling conceptual framework of society for most of their existence. The government, the media, the GOPe, everybody just accepted that the leftists were in control of everything everywhere. Now, many of us didn't like that; we surely hoped it would change, but we had f-all means to change it.

Now there is one person who challenges that. And that one person is against all the government, the GOPe, the media, everybody but us few. So from the perspective of a leftist, this is just a short odd transient, an aberration from the established leftist norm. One man against the world who will be out of office soon and then it's time for seizing their rightful throne and exacting terrible vengeance against their vanquished enemies.

I stumbled onto NASA's live coverage of the Artemis II mission on YouTube.

They're showing the external camera view of the engines.

In the background you can see red streaks zipping through the camera view. I'm wondering if those are stars, illustrating just how fast the spacecraft is going (6400+ mph at the moment)

The antidote to those ideas is a healthy education system that teaches about those ideas in a balanced and ruthlessly honest manner - showing both bad and good (if there is any good in those ideologies) mixed with a strong dose of critical thinking skills.

Unfortunately, the commies figured this out and took over and poisoned our education system to do exactly the opposite.

172 Many actors learn to act when young by taking on a persona and getting a reaction. They learn to read the audience and see what gets a big reaction, and they keep doing that.

It is why they are considered on the level with whores. They are whoring for attention. Some get very rich doing that.

Once they get rich, they get surrounded by a lower class of whore, the sycophant. The groupie. So now you have a rich attention seeking whore, and a money seeking attention giving whore and like two rats fucking in a coffee can on a hill, it just keeps rolling down faster and faster until it crashes.

So they still have coffee cans in USA? In Japan it is all bags. I miss the cans.

Up until 2008, the Dems had their "Super Delegates" which were party insiders that make up about a third of the delegates to the DNC. They were formed for the express purpose of stopping somebody like Jessee Jackson from becoming the nominee.

In 2008, Hillary had secured almost every super delegate to vote for her, and there was concern that those delegates would have put her over the top in 2008, so a push was made to get her to let them vote for Obama and not destroy his historic first and tick off the black vote.

The shift is that of the spectral lines caused by absorption of light by various molecules between the source and observer. They move redward or blueward depending on the velocity of the emitter relative to the observer. Assuming the light emits at all frequencies equally, the color of the object would appear the same at any redshift.

No, parallax from the spacecraft's translational motion would be effectively zero, so vanishingly small it would be (parallax from near stars over 6 months is pretty small over 1AU). They are rotating and changing attitude all the time, which would give you a relative motion of the background star field relative to the camera, but it would be slow.

Those are likely reflections of debris , ice particles, and other venting from the spacecraft.

This is similar, yet very different to the Apollo mission TLI trajectories. It has to do with the SLS/Orion's delta-v budget. Go to the Artemis tracker here, get the hang of the 3D view controls, and you'll see the trajectory.

Rotate it around to see the orbital plane of the Moon vs the spacecraft and how the free return slingshot changes planes of the spacecraft:

Another constraint on the Artemis trajectory that didn't apply to Apollo was Orion is solar powered, while Apollo used fuel cells. They can't let Orion be in the dark for much over an hour or so (I'm sure they've got contingencies, but normal mission profile needs sunlight).

That put a lot more constraints on the timing and trajectories compared to Apollo.

I think DeNiro is just left-brain dumb. The only reason he has any say in anything is that he had so much success in the movies that he became a political _donor_. And like a donor thinks he needs to tell people what they owe him for the money. He's shelling out, and Trump's getting elected president and the Republicans (in some form) control both houses, and conservative cases win in the SCOTUS.

That's got to be frustrating.

This is the crux of the argument about Trump. To the left, this is honest, to the right is it total bullshit.

Fake charges never leveled against anyone else, ie, a completely novel prosecution, in a court so fatally biased that the judge's family was making money off the case while it was ongoing!, and the corrupt prosecutor is herself an actual criminal. The conviction resulted in no actual penalty, and even as a conviction was just a symbol to the left.

Simple justice demands this be overturned. But, a National Exorcism is going to be necessary to get it out of the minds of lefties.

One reason is that the female body doesn't handle being dirty as well as the male body. Also a reason women shouldn't be in the military.Posted by: Formerly Virginian at April 02, 2026 04:15 PM (N1DT3)

Fine. I will use Ace's Time Machine to go back in time and tell the pioneer women that crossed the plains and the Oregon trail to stay home. And the immigrant women who sailed on boats from Europe to America to stay home. And the Hebrew women that Moses freed to just stay put in Egypt. They don't travel well apparently.

Women can travel just fine. We have been doing it for Thousands of years. Even if we have smaller bladders.

See the ONT last night. They did a piss dump. And they had to upload procedures for the piss dump. While the space toilet was on the fritz, they had to use the CCU, collapsible contingency urinal. And then they had to dump it.

My mind was blown to learn they had to turn some heaters on in the system to warm up the piss before venting. Otherwise it would freeze and clog up the outlet nozzle. So, hot piss dump in space.

Water released into space boils off until it pulls enough heat out to freeze, then continues to sublimate. This close to the Sun, there's enough light flux to sublimate it all away and quickly.

Now, way out in the outer solar system, some ice would remain and is would cold enough the vapor pressure would get very small.

By heating the outlet tube and nozzle, they keep the liquid stream from freezing before it clears the spacecraft.
