More details on the super-profesh Secret Service agent who shot himself in the ass:

susancrabtreeshotinbutt.jpg

Thanks to rickb223.

A crewed NASA mission to orbit the moon is scheduled to launch tomorrow night.

In case you missed it, the shrewish nonbinary kobold who chaired the NDP meeting got very miffed at being "gendered" as "Madame Chairman."

Attorney General Pamela Bondi
@AGPamBondi

Today @TheJusticeDept sued the state of Minnesota for allowing boys to play in girls' sports and use girls' locker rooms.

This DOJ acknowledges biological reality and we refuse to let high school girls be subjected to this treatment. It's not only unfair -- it's deeply inappropriate and dangerous.

Proud to partner with @SecKennedy and @EdSecMcMahon on this important litigation.

More:

The Department of Justice announced a lawsuit Monday against Minnesota and the state's high school sports league for allowing boys to compete in girls' sports.

According to the DOJ, the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) and the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) have engaged "in sex-based discrimination by requiring girls to compete against boys in athletic competitions that are designated exclusively for girls and allowing boys to invade intimate spaces designated exclusively for girls."

In doing so, MDE and MSHSL have openly defied Title IX, which prohibits sex-based discrimination in any education program or activity that receives federal funding, the DOJ said in a press release.

"The Justice Department cannot ignore a state's brazen defiance of federal antidiscrimination law," said Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon of the DOJ's Civil Rights Division. "In service of radical gender ideology, Minnesota's actions violate Title IX and deny female athletes their hard-earned trophies, records, dignity, and safety."

The lawsuit highlights the story of Marissa Rothenberger, a biological male who pitched for the girls' varsity softball team as a junior at Champlin Park High School.

Rothenberger threw multiple shutouts, including a complete-game shutout in the Class 4A state championship game, leading the Rebels to the 2025 title.

The performance prompted federal investigations into Minnesota's compliance with Title IX and drew criticism from female athletes who said they were displaced or put at a disadvantage.

The vile Daily Mail published a straight-up hoax, claiming the bullets recovered from Charlie Kirk's body did not match those from Tyler Robinson's gun.

This is a lie. The bullet broke into pieces. It could not be matched to any gun because it is shattered and deformed. (It also couldn't be excluded as a match to Tyler Robinson's gun -- due to the poor shape of the bullet, tests are "inconclusive," as they often are.)

But the Daily Mail is thirsty for clicks, so they lied:

robbysoavedailmailhoax.jpg

dailymailhoaxsoyjacks.jpg

It may surprise you that the Daily Mail runs clickbait lies like this. In fact, they're a pure clickbait site. They are not "conservative" -- but they will publish conservative-tiling articles just because they know conservatives will click on them. They also post extremely left-leaning articles -- because they want commie clicks too.

They're like fake magazine Newsweek, which has the same mercenary, "print anything as long is it delivers clicks" credo.

This is clickbait trash and completely discrediting to the @DailyMail.

Spoke to a LEO who told me fragmentation that makes it impossible to get a match to ANY weapon happens all the time. Yet the Daily Mail is echoing Tyler Robinson's defense team nearly verbatim. They did NOT quote a single law-enforcement officer not connected to Robinson's defense who would've given their readers a better understanding of what's happening here.

They're purely leaning into this because they know there are a bunch of rabid conspiracy theorists who will not take the time to understand this.

Which makes the Daily Mail and its reporter scum in my book.

I will no longer link to this outlet. If I have to quote one of their articles, I'll just say it's from the Daily Mail with no link.

Ever wonder why Israel always has thousands of terrorists in jail that they have to release every other year because Hamas and Hezballah take a bunch of civilians hostage?

Ever wonder why Israel just doesn't kill them?

Well Israel is wondering about that too, and the left is -- get this -- outraged!

israelmayhangterrorists.jpg

The "educated" class is a joke.

A very bad joke.

Also from Canada: This bizarre performance at the JUNO Awards, Canada's Grammies. This was apparently intended as a "tribute" to Natalie Furtado. You should listen to it. If you can get past the weird grunting and sexual breathing in the beginning, you will then learn that this singer cannot carry a single note. She doesn't even get close to a note. And her voice is all over the place so she should, per the law of large numbers, hit some notes accidentally, but she doesn't.

You had one f***in' job.

Flashback from Hot Air:

Overton
@overton_news

🚨 CNN panel just got absolutely DESTROYED.

Ana Navarro attacked President Trump for his "flippant" communication on Iran -- when former Iranian regime prisoner Kian Tajbakhsh dropped a NUCLEAR truth bomb straight from inside Iran:

TAJBAKHSH: "I want to share one thing about Donald Trump's communication style."

"When I spoke to someone inside Iran who I trust -- he runs a very big business, he's not a politician but he has to follow very closely all the tea leaves -- he told me, that guy is a genius!"

"And he's talking about Trump."

"And I said, why?"

"You know, he said, because he's completely confused the Iranians."

"Finally, the Iranians have met someone who is like a match for them."

Abby Phillip couldn't handle it -- she cut him off twice mid-sentence:

PHILLIP: "But do you think that's really true?"

TAJBAKHSH: "I think it's true. I think it's true, let me--"

Shut down again.

The anti-Trump narrative just got torched live on air by someone who actually knows Iran.

Sounds like a man who's trying to taint the jury pool for his eventual prosecution and secure a "not guilty" by jury nullification:

Whatever we do, we should listen to grifters like Steve Bannon and Short-Eyes Matt Gaetz:

They're totally not grifters who will claim to believe whatever conspiracy theory is getting the most Lunatic Clicks at the moment.

Later the blue metal that was killing the clumsier miners was isolated and named "cobalt" in their "honor".
I've been down some pre-1875 mines here and there. Safety standards were nonexistent. Nobody was sweeping the floors of sharp dangerous rubble. And miners tended to be broke-ass sons of bitches, "going down pit" was considered a last resort for people with no income. ("Firefly" got that much right, "couldn't think of a reason to get into that line of work if you weren't born to it")

Note that Artemis II is a not-quite Apollo 8 mission. Because the SLS is the biggest boondoggle NASA has ever done, which is saying something, the current SLS configuration doesn't have the delta-v/fuel margin to put Orion into lunar orbit and get out and back to earth. So, it's just going to be a free-return figure 8 flyby.

They will go "higher" (farther beyond the Moon) that any Apollo mission did, so they'll set the record for greatest distance humans have been from earth. The return leg will also hit geocentric velocity of a smidge over 25K mph, and beat Apollo 10's return speed record by a little bit as well.

And that's about it.

$93B for the whole thing, SLS and Orion through 2025. And that doesn't include other parts of the boondoggle. The SLS was going to be upgraded to a more powerful second stage. Isaacman has cancelled that, because it wasn't going anywhere, delays and cost overruns. Now, that upgraded SLS (Dubbed Block 1B and Block 2) was going to need a bigger mobile launcher.

Bechtel got the contract for that back in 2019 or sometime. Original cost was to be about $380M and it was supposed to be completed by 2023 or something. Well, as of now, it ain't nowhere near completion, projected cost his $2.7B, and it wouldn't be ready until 2029 at least.....

Isaacman put that out of its misery as well.

Apollo 8 was something of a lark as well. Such a CSM only lunar orbit mission wasn't originally planned. Trouble was, there were big delays with the lunar module, and the CSM was ready well before the LM would be, and that messed up the planned mission profiles. Somebody his on the idea of a lunar orbit, and it was a hit, giving the famous Earthrise photo, probably one of the most iconic of the Apollo era. They penciled Apollo 8 as a "C-prime" mission, something they just made up on the fly.

It is really tempting to a lot of people that should know better like cops that the weapons light on the end of the rail is NOT a substitute for a flashlight.

It is to identify targets, not light the back of your trunk up to find something and obviously used as a regular flashlight will violate pointing the gun at something you rather not destroy.

Carry a regular flashlight for light in the darkness, not a weapons light on the end of a pistol or rifle.

Never cared much for Benny nor really for most of the online right 'influencers'. On the right, there are damned few actual reporters that develop leads, investigate, etc. Most of the right's publications rely on commentary or aggregating news from other places, not actually doing hard work on developing sources themselves.

But, if anything, the left is even worse and not even pretending to act like real reporters. They just sit in their office with their online accounts and make up shit or rewrite press releases from leftists organizations.

Paddle Switch on the back of the unit and the rails are pretty much universal other than length. Obviously smaller units fit compact guns, etc. Usually a flip down or up bilateral switches or on cheaper/inferior units, a button that you press.

Ideally, you want one that will activate and turn off with gross movements, thus a paddle type switch rather than some button you have to press just so.

A tornado destroying a wide swathe of homes and killing people in the process, or a multi-car pileup with fatalities because of ice and fog, or a passenger ship sinking in a typhoon are tragedies, but are accidental or acts of God. Targeting a five year old and murdering her is a deliberate evil act. I think monstrosity or atrocity is more fitting. "Tragedy" just seems too passive.

Yep. But cameras accessible through a smartphone help lessen false alarms and keep monkey temptation to go and look at a minimum.

Also have a perimeter alarm system with motion detectors/glass breakage for areas I or my wife don't frequent at night.

Also holing up in place can allow access to the big artillery rather than a handgun. Shotguns or rifles end the fight quickly versus a relatively underpowered handgun. Easy to point and aim as well.

Clearing a house with such though is something for people that practice it regularly in teams as too easy to get your weapon taken from you doing it yourself.

I'm weird about it. I even put a pinky in the semi auto's chamber and touch the empty cylinder holes of revolvers to make sure no cartridge or case is left.

Doing that as a habit means even in the dark, you can check your firearm status by feel without light.

Otherwise trying to reload a revolver with a case stuck in it (common for snubbies btw unless you raise it 90 and punch the ejector rod) or a semi auto not having the chamber cleared can happen in the wrong circumstances and tie up the firearm when you need it most.

So sequential, then. To me, "mass execution" sort of implies the means of death is applied to the unfortunate recipients in a large group, all at once.

225 The light on the pistol should only be used when your using the pistol as a pistol. Sensible rules don't require that the light not be used until you're actually pulling the trigger, which is how that phrasing could be interpreted.
When I feel the need to have the house gun in my hand, the light is on if it's after dark. I'd rather not shoot the coat rack at 3AM.

227 >> for some 40 years going in small stages works for me.

That's what Issacman is doing. Artemis III was supposed to be actual landing mission. No more. It's going to be an Apollo 9 style test in earth orbit. If Starship HLS is ready, they will launch everything into earth orbit around 2027, and test docking and all that. Elon is also supposed to do an unmanned landing test of HLS on the Moon in 2027 as well.

Since SpaceX is private, they don't have to publicize their progress too much, so I really have no clue how well those HLS plans are going.

Bezos is trying to get in the lunar lander act as well, with their "Blue Moon" lander. The more the merrier, hopefully.

Surefire makes the best and most tested. Olight is a Chinesium knockoff that is popular and cheaper.

Rifle lights usually have pressure pads to activate. My shotgun weapons light has a paddle switch.

Sure if they put in a total effort to it. Tech is better than 1965-70. They'd have to put in serious efforts to purge all the half assery in their manufacturing out of the process because you don't want cardboard instead of titanium or whatever.

231 So, exactly how would one stage a mass execution by hanging? Would sequentially hanging a large cohort of prisoners from the same gallows qualify? Or do you need a multiple-trap gallows? "Ten ropes, no waiting!"

Shooting people into trenches is a mass execution. They don't all happen the same instant. If you wanted it to be more at the same time, have many teams on many roads with synchronized watches.

I have the same misgivings about the NASA moon shot that I had about the space shuttle. Bad signs of mismanagement, and of being technically unsound. Trump should stop this from going ahead. Get some low level official to convey the news. Going ahead with it to save face is just wrong.

240 Most cops AND military are not that familiar with firearms beyond annual qualifications. Hard to quantify but mebbe about 10-15 percent are 'gun nuts'.

FWIW, Jim Cirrillo of the NYPD's Stakeout Squad (and later was a Fed Law Enforcement Training Center Instructor (FLETC) mentioned that those that were hunters and strong in religious faith were the ones that could be considered long termers in that job.

Probably right. Delay, or cancel, or just bullshit everyone. NASA isn't capable of this. It's questionable if SpaceX could do it.

It would require a gigantic amount of money for NASA to poach the talent & tech necessary for this. IMHO.
