Heavy water fun facts. Freezing point is 38.9F and boiling point is 214.6F. It's about 10% denser than normal water. Heavy water ice would sink in regular water.

These large difference in these basic properties are due to the 2x mass difference between D and H. You can also play around with oxygen isotopes, say O-18 or -17 instead of O-16. This doesn't make much difference, because the relative mass difference isn't that much.

This is the toxicity mechanism. All the biochemical reactions that power us are in water as a solvent. That big difference in properties due to the large relative messes up those reactions.

A few years ago, when we lived in Fort Collins, we had some scary wildfires in the hills to the west. Sky was black and we had ash and cinders landing on our roof, deck and vehicles. Some were still warm. And we live on the east side of the city. Pretty damn scary.

I know a lot of people think Trump & co. badly botched the Epstein files, but I think they knew what they were doing. They teased them out, and went from being all for it to totally against it, *knowing* the Dems would reflexively demand their release.

So it got dumped, and the damage fell entirely on the left, and now - very important here - a precedent has been set. Even if no charges were brought, the FBI can, as a public service - dump a bunch of adverse info about you.

Yes, it's bad, but this is where we are. Sometimes people need to understand that turnabout is fair play.

Spain has always been at odds with NATO, during Franco they were excluded, after Franco everyone was suspicious, and only in the last 30 years did they get involved. Even then they were at times certain they were getting suckered into something.

Picked-up a bajo sexto a while back. Whole other sound they do with those...still learning. We have a friend we play events for occasionally whose favorite song is "Hey, Baby, Que Paso", so I thought it would be fun to try do use it on that one. We usually just play the bajo-like chords on a standard six-string acoustic and mimic the accordion with a fiddle. Fun!

Point of Order! Spain was excluded from NATO because a bunch of Communist sympathizers hated Franco. Because of that, Spain entered a bi-lateral treaty with the US.

Later on, the pinkos were discredited and Spain was permitted full membership. When France decided to screw us in 1986 and made our F-111s fly around France to hit Khaddafi, Spain was not part of that. This is a new thing.

The current government is horribly unpopular and it is abusing its power to make as many illegals voters as possible.

There are 2 ways to tune those things. Those things are crazy. One tuning is exactly like a 12 string acoustic, but an octave down, and the other tuning is different in the last 2 pairs, where a guitar is tuned E-A-D-G-B-E, the sexto is E-A-D-G-C-F. Weird animal that thing.

No, we are not putting boots on the ground. However, it is very useful to make people think we are. Here's why.

1. Iran will have to concentrate its ground forces to effectively resist it. That means pulling troops out of bunkers and putting them on roads where they are sitting ducks. Even midnight convoys won't work. Not now. They will use only the most loyal troops for this, and I'm sure we see the problem for Iran here.

2. It further exposes the grifters. Honest people can honestly disagree, express fear, but the grifters are being exposed. Trump's first term was pretty much defined by betrayals. He wants those people rooted out, not just for him, but forever. The traitors must be found and excised from the body politic. He's done a great job so far, but this is a decisive test that separates those with flawed judgement or apprehension from the bad actors.

How do I know? Because if Trump wanted to invade Iran from the get-go, the signs would have been obvious. Note that he is activating units in reverse order: the door-kickers should have been in position first. Now they arrive as an afterthought. This is pure genius.
