3 Pixy, maybe ace could be given a cool hash like you have? He was all over the threads yesterday--yay!--as this:

6 The site should be modified so ace can only post as Lamont with the hash (bGdmY).

7 And my current hash basically reads like a furry saying yiff with a ballgag in his mouth. Unappreciated, bruv.

8 I noticed that and wondered if it was a bad thing.

Frankly speaking I don’t think we should allow the monarch of a Muslim country the honor of addressing Congress

JUST IN - King Charles will deliver a speech to the U.S. Congress the week of April 27 as he visits the U.S. — Politico

The comments are harsh (about his delivering a speech before Congress).

Unless you say that while snugly fitted into a 'roo's pouch, it's cultural appropriation!

13 Yhat video was interesting

14 I am impressed by the social responsibility of that Girls' Generation video, taking aspirational consumption into account. Too many creators either forget or don't care that kids and teenagers are always looking up to older ones, consuming media up in age from themselves. For example, my understanding is that the primary market for "Young Adult" novels is adolescents, or maybe even tweens. And so it is with this video, where the performers themselves look to be young adults, but their target audience is not there yet. Somewhere in the process, a creative director cared about the health of his society and culture.

That made me watch it.
It's cute! "Change Room" was off a bit; or prescient.

16 And they weren't on their cellphones--I don't think I saw a single cellphone. Which is refreshing.

17 Open AI is a company with a product that can only make so much money chatting up bored people or writing their essays or legal briefs for them. That subscription fee only goes so far, and currently it's not as profitable as it needs to be.

Every other thing they're trying to sell can be done just as well, or better, by other AI/AI Agents, many of them for free or just the cost of the equipment and time.

Since Open AI is currently the king of the AI field many of their competitors are trying to follow their lead as they can't figure out how to make enough profit to pay for their data centers and dividends to their shareholders either.

It seems this might be the beginning of the AI bubble deflating (at least somewhat), as most of these Big AI corps can't get a handle on how to build-out while making enough money to keep everything inflating.

They've also driven up technology prices so high it's costing them more and more to do anything just like everybody else trying to get their hands on memory/storage chips of any kind. Energy prices are going the same route.

Something has to give and the bankruptcy or AI exit strategy for some of these big corps is on the horizon.

(I hope.)

Looked it up.

They released this song in 2009, so yeah, smart phones weren't quite a thing yet, but it only took a few years later before they were everywhere.
