325 Agreed about the first two points, but expanding the strike zone is a non starter for me. I think they should simply move the strike zone up from the knees. That way there would be more line drives, more fielding, and perhaps fewer snoozer home run swings. Posted by: CharlieBrown'sDildo at March 24, 2026 12:02 PM (n9ltV) That's the key point for me. Delta Air Lines has stripped lawmakers of a little-known VIP travel perk as the shutdown leaves TSA agents unpaid and airports stretched to breaking point.
The move means members of Congress and their staff will no longer get access to a dedicated airline help desk that fast-tracks bookings, changes and support. Now congress members will have to endure the misery that the masses have faced while they have been swept through check-in with ease. Perks included airport escorts and red coat services. But for the time being, while its Capitol Desk reservation line remains active, lawmakers will now 'be treated like any other passenger according to their SkyMiles status'. 'Due to the impact on resources from the longstanding government shutdown, Delta will temporarily suspend specialty services to members of Congress flying Delta,' the company said in a statement Posted by: one hour sober at March 24, 2026 12:29 PM (Y1sOo) 125

Whoops.
George Clooney and Tom Hanks have both retained the same lawyer to deal with "allegations" uncovered in the Epstein files. According to people investigating the story, the actors became aware that their names had been uncovered after being redacted under the Biden administration. They immediately retained famed defense attorney Joseph Barron, who was on both Casey Anthony's and OJ Simpson's teams. Innocent people don't tend to hire this guy. Guilty people pay him to get them off. Posted by: rickb223 at March 24, 2026 12:42 PM (5xUrG) 196

I hope the message from this man's awful story is not that this was just one messed-up individual or that abortion is disgusting, but that making safe and legal abortion inaccessible and forcing women into desperation puts lives in danger and allows greedy and unethical people to take advantage of victims. That building he was working out of still needs to be torn down. No reason that it’s still standing, esp in that part of the city. So much death and suffering took place in that building. Heard a non profit is moving in, but who would want to step foot in that place after all the terrible things that happened in there? @DataRepublican MAJOR BREAKING: International actors are involved in the State Department led color revolution ... Ex-USAID employees describe how, before January 20, they moved internal groups off government systems and into encrypted Signal chats, then quickly linked with foreign partners and NGOs after the inauguration. This attempt at creating a color revolution isn't new news; this part was already reported in NOTUS earlier this year. But what's not reported is the international aspect. One participant explicitly frames it as "a global anti-authoritarian movement," connecting U.S. officials with "colleagues from around the world who have dealt with this directly." Women's sports, in general, is pure patronization. Sure, in high school and college is serves a teaching purpose. You learn about teamwork, discipline, perserverence to name a few.
BUT, women's professional sports, the women's Olympic events, World meets for track and field etc. PURE unaduturated patronization. It's Junior Varsity. The only purpose it might serve is to entice girls to pursue atheletics while securing an education. Posted by: Orson at March 24, 2026 01:17 PM (dIske) 364

Gosnell received his MD from Jefferson Medical College shortly after the school also graduated its first female physician. He had a horrible reputation well before he was finally trapped in felony cases. But no one in Philly had the balls or morals to challenge a Black Doctor until his actions went beyond egregious. Thus both the medical establishment and government legal system in Philly share guilt in savage murders of babies. The medical school changed its name when Sidney Kimmel paid his way into their halls. Seems fitting.

True, but $300k is like an entry-level lawyer or finance job at a big firm in NYC. Actually, less than what a top entry level job pays.

As bad as they are, these are elite female players. Anyone is worth what someone is willing to pay them. No more, no less. Posted by: Max Power at March 24, 2026 12:47 PM (q177U) I would argue Gosnell was far and away much worse than Kervorkian. Gosnell murdered thousands of innocent victims - unborn babies and even babies born alive whose spinal cords he'd cut with surgical scissors if they made it out the womb. Kervorkian, warped though he may have been, provided assisted suicide to people who made a choice about ending their own lives. He was involved either directly or indirectly maybe up to 130 deaths. Anyone that saw the photo of Baby Boy A will never forget it. Gosnell gave legal abortions, although he did lie about the ones that were late term. He had high school girls with no medical training handling anesthesia. They let him go 10 years without setting foot in that clinic to check it.

Ace you are a fine man who is not old.
I only feel old due to "post viral syndrome" which is a thing now. A hangover if you survive. I am going to beat this tomorrow and garden. Possibly croak among my rose bushes and spring flowers. Today at the eye doc (regular visit all is well) a super old man behind me was talking about "seeing his nutritionist next week." I am not going there willingly and think three docs I have to see (eye, derm, ARNP) need to arrange a conference once a year to see me and then leave me alone. I hope Gosnell is in the lower bowel of hell. I did raise consciousness of his horror when I briefly invaded WaPo as a French anthroplogist. The rabid and stupid commenters did not even catch on that I was messing with them after I said my project was, "WaPo in the Mist." Very polite with me being French. It was hilarious on a horrible subject and I let 'er rip. Posted by: ChristyBlinkyTheGreat at March 24, 2026 02:39 PM (WONhk) 387
Kermit Gosnell eulogy:
Whatever became of your humanity? I hope it was not for the 'Benjamins'. I hope it was not for a hatred of society. I hope it was not because the mother didn't want or was incapable of upbringing the child. Because that child could have been adopted by loving adoption parents. Other than those reasons, I cannot fathom terminating a human life. Other than a subliminal hatred of humanity itself. If that was the case, you had no business being a medical professional that swears to the 'Hippocratic Oath'. You were a charlatan! Posted by: John at March 24, 2026 02:54 PM (0DsdP) 388
