Good morning kids. With the United States heavily engaged in military operations against the Iranian regime, and Cardboard Cutouts notwithstanding, that regime still capable of hurling missiles at Israel and other nations in the region, is this something?!

A massive explosion ripped through the Valero refinery in Port Arthur on Monday, sending a towering column of black smoke over the city and triggering an emergency response across Jefferson County. The cause of the explosion is under investigation. . . The Valero refinery in Port Arthur is ranked as one of the ten largest refineries in the United States. Valero reported the refinery produces 435,000 barrels of gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel per day.

In the wake of Israel's recent strike on a key Iranian/Qatari oil facility and President Trump's threat to obliterate Iran's energy infrastructure if the regime does not capitulate or accede to his demands for a cessation of hostilities, is there a link to Iran or was this some freak accident. Given the our props borders and joke of an immigration enforcement system prior to the Trump era, sabotage not only can't be ruled out but IMHO it most likely was the cause. Perhaps this brainwave might be pushing things but our own homegrown traitors in the form of Antifa and the red-green-climate change maniacs could have used the war as cover to pull off an attack or are in league with Iranian/Islamic terror cells? And then this happened:

Loyola University freshman Sheridan Gorman was walking in a park on Thursday morning around 1:00 a.m., to “catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights” when Medina-Medina allegedly approached her. Gorman “attempted to flee,” but Medina-Medina allegedly shot her in the head. Gorman was pronounced dead at the scene, according to local reports and the Department of Homeland Security.

Fuck that noise. Send in the Green Berets to storm the jail and take the scumbag out by force - and Arrest Fatzker for insurrection or obstruction of justice. He needs to swing if he dares interfere, but there isn't a construction crane sturdy enough to hoist him up by his brontosaurus neck.

138 FWIW I got my death sentence last Monday after a PET scan showed that prostate cancer has metastasized into my bones. Medication will slow it down but there's no stopping it.

I've been around here for a long time, starting about the time LGF went straight to hell, maybe a little before all the bans started.

I've seen so many come and go, now it's my turn. I don't know how much time I've got but I'm making a list to do things I passed up but feel the need to see. I'm hitting 71 in 2 weeks and you can bet the farm I'm putting my travelling shoes on before I can't any more.

I have no idea where you live but a fellow I know had a death sentence from prostate cancer that similarly had advanced to his bones and got himself into a trial at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, using (primarily) an estrogen therapy, changing and strictly controlling diet, and quarterly visits for study purposes. It has worked, at least so far.

She AND her entire family unit were on their way to a plane to be flown back to Guatemala when she tried to make a break for it. She had a final deportation order since 2019 and everyone was being escorted to the homeward bound plane when she tried to make a break.

For the most part, it has. I get up whenever I get up rather than 3 am. I don't have the feeling of revulsion I've felt the last couple years logging into work. I've finished a couple projects that I've been sitting on for years, working on them whenever I found myself with nothing else to do.

That having been said, I don't think that anyone can be truly prepared, mentally, for the change. It takes a while to come to grips with it. Looking forward to taking some road trips.

I took one for the team. I did a bit of searching. He has short stumps for arms and legs. His limbs were amputated somewhat above the elbows and knees. He has or had a short pair of artificial legs, the blade type like those of South African Oscar Pistorius. I didn't find pix showing any sort of artificial grippers at the ends of his shortened arms. The ends of his arms do have flesh and blood bifurcated 'appendages', that can act as a stumpy thumb and index finger. Probably due to special surgery. Enabling him to grasp and hold a beanbag and hold a handgun in his left 'hand' and 'pull' the trigger with the right one. I get the impression he plays in a handicap cornhole league.

Oil is the biggest fungible commodity on the planet.
Oil is bought on contract. Oil in the refineries and already in tanks at gas stations were bought at a certain price previously.

The fact that the price jumped a dollar a gallon is because they can. They oil companies are bidding on hasn't come out of the ground yet. They raise prices because you have no recourse.

No different than raising it a quarter just before a holiday weekend. That gas in those underground tanks at the gas station was already bought at xx dollars. THAT gas didn't go up. They raised the price because they can.

As I understand it, and I'm not an entrepreneur so I could be completely wrong, the price that they charge is based on what they expect to pay to replace what they sell, not what they paid for the product.

If they were to charge their cost plus some reasonable markup, in a time of higher inflation they would go out of business as the money brought in from selling inventory would be insufficient to purchase new inventory.

That’s the sad reality that underlies just about every strip bar anywhere. The regular customers are lonely men who’ve decided there’s one girl there who actually likes them; the girls are mostly angry addicts who despise their customers but who know how to act, and hide it. It’s really a pathetic scene all the way around.

And I guess OF simply moves that scene online.

Did you mix the rhubarb with strawberries? Most recipes do. My grandma used to grow rhubarb and make pies, but it's been 55+ years. I can't remember what all she used.
