TV audience peer through fingers as record breaker pulls balloons through nose and mouth

How many times can you put a balloon up your nose and pull it out your mouth? We bet not many of you have ever actually tried! But at Guinness World Records, we love celebrating unique talents just like this.
On 29 August 2025, Malte Dünser (Austria), broke the Guinness World Records title for most balloons passed through the nose and out the mouth in one minute. This wild record attempt took place on the set of Guinness World Records - Die große Show der Weltrekorde, in Munich, Germany, in front of an audience.
Malte managed to complete the trick 10 times, repeatedly threading the uninflated balloons through one nostril, and pulling them out through his mouth.

There are photos at the link if you want to see more. I won't post them here. I mourn for the days when a Guinness World Record meant something more significant than stuffing balloons up your nose (not that there's anything wrong with that...).

Remember: no matter how much you distrust politicians and hate the media, it is not enough.

Old news, but new to me. CBS News report from May 2024: Calls to Massachusetts Problem Gambling Hotline up 121 percent in a year, state says

New data from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) shows more people are having gambling problems, especially with sports betting.
Call to the state's Problem Gambling Helpline were up 121 percent in just a year, between 2022 and 2023, DPH announced Wednesday.
So why has there been an increase? DPH said it's a result of improving access to helplines with public awareness campaigns and education statewide.
"The increase in calls is a sign that people are feeling comfortable reaching out," Odessa Dwarika, the program director for the Massachusetts Council on Gaming and Health, told WBZ-TV. "If folks are experiencing harm but they don't know how to get resources or they don't feel comfortable getting resources, you're not going to see that bump in numbers."

Up 121 percent on one year? Heavens! Must be a sign of major gambling problems and a success story for the state's gambling help hotline, right? Well...

From Boston.com: Half of recent calls to state's gambling helpline were for help placing mobile sports bets, new report shows

According to DPH's report, the helpline saw a surge in calls after sports betting was legalized. But of the 2,069 calls from February to June 2023, 1,043 were non-helpline calls, the report said. Those callers were "looking for technical support for their sports wagering mobile applications and platforms."
The Office of Problem Gambling Services attributed the confusion to an increase in sports wagering advertisements, which list the helpline.

The gambling help hotline became a tech support line for gamblers because online gaming companies were required to list the helpline in their ads?

No matter how much you distrust politicians and hate the media, it is not enough. Never believe anything you read in a media story without checking for yourself.

Quadruple amputee, professional cornhole player faces murder charges

A professional cornhole player and quadruple amputee has been formally charged with murder and multiple related offenses in connection with a deadly shooting that occurred in Charles County on March 22, 2026.
Dayton James Webber, 27, of La Plata, Md., was arraigned in the District Court of Maryland for Charles County after being located in Charlottesville, Virginia, and arrested following the fatal shooting of 27-year‑old Bradrick Michael Wells, according to court documents.
Police have not explained how Webber was able to drive a car or fire a weapon.
Webber underwent quadruple amputation as a baby after a blood infection, according to reports. He's a professional cornhole player in the American Cornhole League (ACL).

Armed and dangerous? No, but he won't have a leg to stand on in court.

A little later came the Secret Agent X-7 series of toys, a camera that would transform into a gun, that kind of thing. Kurt Russell starred as a 13-year-old James Bondian agent in the TV commercials.

Only Marx had as wide a range of products -- maybe even wider.

When we moved to the farm I entered 5th grade and met new friends. A good friend, even now and one of the nicest people ever, had older siblings. She taught me cuss words and with Barbie and Ken, sex. Imagine my surprise when I was older!

Yes I grew up on a farm. Yes we had cows and horses, but I thought they were playing. Yes I was that naive and not pretending. And, yes, my husband had to explain some stuff to me.

Mostly because I am allergic to tobacco and my exBFnotF roommate smoked all the time our first year in the dorm. The surgery is called bilateral antral windows, and was hideous when the packing came out and I vowed never again.

I have to sniff saline solution every night, which was probably a very attractive feature for my bf/husband who didn't seem to notice and I told him what I was doing. However, not something I advertised as a bonus to anyone.

199 TiFW, we did that trip last year with our youngest daughter who is a theatre nerd. We ended up seeing 6 shows and had a blast. Stayed near Central Park and did A LOT of walking. Never had any issues throughout our entire trip. Enjoy it and have fun. There's a ton of great restaurants and you need to go to the Stardust Diner. Great food and entertainment. So much fun!

She also gave her good friend who helps with the lawn and his wife full ok to wipe out the attic into a dumpster years ago. Which I did't care about.

Someone took our stuff and got a bit of $. And may blessings be heaped on their heads if they needed the money that bad. I guess.

She relies on both the maid and lawn guy and I am not going to go NCIS and solve the case, then blow outta there ripping up her life. It was simply a shock to my future plans.

I have to go in to get a newer Rx. No study, but one of the vendors I use raised a fuss on this last order about my 12 year old Rx. I've used them for over a decade, but they started a new Sleep Doctor service. I guess they expected me to use their service instead of canceling the order.... Silly people.

If it will help him sleep better...good. He has a crappy spine from 40yrs of long distance running plus his parent's genetics of arthritis. Never complains (like I do with a cold), but is in pain daily.

I will adjust. There will be some initial mocking, of course, as he gives it back to me with full force if anything is wrong with me.

Rx for the machine and masks. It can include supplemental oxygen, which thankfully I don't need.

My sleep study was strange. It was only supposed to be monitoring, but they woke me up part way through and. Put a mask on me because my oxygen levels were low - close to the point where I'd turn blue. Yes, I have severe sleep apnea.
