Soleimani was targeted while at a tent camp that was recently established by the Basij. According to the IDF, the Basij set up the camp after the military struck many of the headquarters of the paramilitary force.
In addition, the strike also killed the deputy commander of the Basij and other top officials in the paramilitary force, the IDF says.

The Basij is known for its role in violently suppressing anti-regime protests, and is believed to be responsible for countless deaths of Iranian civilians.
Meanwhile, top Palestinian Islamic Jihad leader Akram al-Ajouri and other top officials in the terror group were targeted by the IDF in a strike on Wednesday, according to the military. The military believes al-Ajouri was likely killed in the strike, but says it is still working to confirm this.

IRGC commanders are also deployed in southern Lebanon to direct Iran's proxy army Hezballah.

Debate. The SAVE act was brought up under a privileged message from the House and now debate on the issue has begun. We shall see what other procedural matters are raised along with amendments. Reportedly Thune is filling the tree with amendments so there is a votorama on those but not an unlimited free for all.

Cloture, either by changing the rules, Democrats crumble, or by exhaustion of all speakers (the talking filibuster) is the question as the SAVE act has the majority votes but short of the 60 for quick cloture to end debate and vote on the measure.

It may take up to 2-3 months depending on the Senate schedule for exhaustion and how many Dems want to actually speak. Meanwhile, it freezes those senators to have to stay in DC while it is going on.

The good ones often are written only on X without the bug eyed video delivery from too many podcasters.

I prefer written news and analysis because it is far less tedious to pick out problematic assertions, factual inaccuracies, and jumps of logic that are often employed by carny media types.

I also read far faster than I can listen to spoken blather, mugging at the camera, etc.

If analysis requires video, stills,etc. as evidence, then worthwhile, otherwise just to hear someone ranting is worthless to me. Same usually for talk radio. Rush was fine as he was entertaining as well as factual when alternative sources were scarce. Hannity, awful and robotic. Levin is a smart guy from his books but you wouldn't know that from his radio show Old Yeller persona. Savage weirdly enough was like Art Bell, strange but also entertaining at times even with just weirdness.

I was never hugely worried about China as trade advantages can be rolled back as long as the rest of the world doesn't deindustrialize like the globalists wanted us to do. In terms of projecting military power their lack of land routes and sea power make it hard to get far. We and Japan both had a hell of a time even getting at each other in WWII.
