The introduction of the Macbook Neo has caused a bit of a ruckus in the PC universe. But it was at Mac World 2008 when Steve Jobs kicked off a revolution when he introduced the MacBook Air, argueably the first truly modern laptop.

Posted by: Nazdar Some of New Who is actually very good, but the BBC killed it again - first with terrible scripts starting in 2018 with Jodie Whittaker's tenure, and then more recently by not having anyone prepared to take the role thanks to years of terrible scripts. The FAA temporarily stopped traffic at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI) and Richmond International Airport (RIC) because of a strong chemical smell at the Potomac TRACON that is impacting some air traffic controllers. Ground stop occurred from about 1630 to 1930 (Friday) and was traced to a burned circuit board.
Kind of worrisome that a minor incident could cause such an impact. Posted by: actually inside the beltway at March 14, 2026 04:59 AM (YoT4f) 41

Ah yes, one of the passages used to "prove" an unbiblical view of Christ's second coming and the rapture. But, a thief in the night to who? 1Thess 5:1-4 clears that up. Who are "they?" Those not in Christ, of course. The brethren are not in darkness. Why not? Because Paul had taught them things that will occur before that day. Which of course they forgot. What signs? See 2Thess 2:1-5. I sense a bit of frustration in verse 5. Posted by: TeeJ at March 14, 2026 05:05 AM (Gk2Bn) 46

>> Well worth the watch, in my humble opinion. One of the best scenes in the Get Back doc, was watching Paul literally summoning the song Get Back from the ether. Or pretty much any scene when some Beatles are kibitzing and in the background you can here one of the other Beatles noodling on something that would eventually become a masterpiece. One of my other favorites is when George is trying to figure out the words to Something and one of the original lines is, her love attracts me like a pomeegranit. One of my favorite Beatles recordings is their cover of Chuck Berry's Rock and Roll music. On October 18th, 1964 in a session that lasted over 9 hours and included the recording of Eight Days a Week. They recorded Rock and Roll music sometime around 11:00 p.m. Legend has it that McCartney was on piano, Harrison was on the Hofner bass, and Lennon supplied the Rickenbacker 325 guitar and scorching vocal. The track was done live in one take and is a prime example of how great a band they were live.

By the time our Mom passed, coming up on four years ago in May, any thought of interring her cremated ashes is a custom built and weighted cedar box, taking it out on a boat on Lake Superior and dropping it overboard at the location where we had done the same for Dad twenty-five years earlier was out of the question, as whoever had assisted us in the on water part was no longer in the area. So we four kids and our spouses placed her ashes in the midst of the natural area that constituted her view from her kitchen window and her back patio. "King" was not the guy's real name and the shooting occurred earlier this week... via CBS --
Images obtained by CBS News Texas show King standing close to Crockett at events and on the campaign trail during her recent run for a U.S. Senate seat. Sources say he oversaw teams of security officers at several downtown Dallas hotels and at his church. Law enforcement sources also say King drove a replica undercover police vehicle and used license plates stolen from cars outside a military recruiting office. His background – which sources say includes a criminal history – raises questions about how he managed extra‑duty jobs for police officers and secured a high‑level security role for a sitting member of Congress. Documents obtained by CBS News Texas show a person named Mike King received payments for "security services" from Crockett as recently as last year. Whiteness creates social conditions that require POC’s to engage in whiteness in order to survive or be seen by whiteness.
All POC actions, then, are in response to whiteness and are not the result of authentic POC decision making. Therefore, great deference should be given to how POC manifest their interactions with whiteness. Simple, really Posted by: Accomac at March 14, 2026 06:32 AM (T8bqm) 88

Evening and morning, AoSHQ satellites! Sattiday again, innit?
Had a peculiar dream just now. I was waiting for a redhaired woman in a park. When she arrived, she told me she was too tired to go on our trip. So I set off across a park area, a college courtyard, and on into a train station/mall. Apparently I was in Finland -- all the signs looked to my eye like Finnish -- and was on my way by rail to cross at least one border and river, and end up in a town called "Jensen," which sounds Swedish or Norwegian. Oddly, while I had no backpack or rain gear, I was aware the whole time that I had made this trip *before* with such gear, and was going by memory. I found a big map of the area, though for some reason it had "Bourbon St" printed in red on it. I was going to Jensen to visit a bank, either to deliver 40,000 euros or to collect them from an account there. What's it mean, Doctor? Anyway, melatonin-fueled dreams aside . . . the furry thugs are doing well, having both been fed. I'm trying the new-to-me-and-them Feline Pine litter that Joyenz recommended on the Pet Thread last week. So far they are not objecting to it. I had pictured little pine flakes, but these are like tiny logs. Currently the new stuff is mixed with their usual clay-type litter, so as not to give them a sudden shock.
When I clean the box again, I'll use this new stuff entirely and see what happens. Posted by: Wolfus Aurelius, Dreaming of Elsewhere at March 14, 2026 06:58 AM (wzUl9) 105
Any time a judge says that the Trump administration lacks the power to do something that would be perfectly acceptable if the president were a Democrat, based on the Trump administration’s alleged motivations, that judge is wrong and is acting as a partisan hack. I think the general public would be astonished at how often that happens. - John Hinderaker
===== So much for an impartial apolitical judiciary. The judges must be swept away because they are partisan political operatives corrupting rather than preserving the Constitutional order. They are traitors to the United States. Posted by: San Franpsycho at March 14, 2026 07:02 AM (RIvkX) 106

“ Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for each other, love one another deeply, from the heart. 23 For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.”

Yep. This CEO is the one who brought that in at Adobe.
Posted by: Pixy Misa at March 14, 2026 04:36 AM (BLOW1) He also brought in the "disable software you already own" model. I had Photoshop CS4, which I'd bought and paid for from Adorama. After having it for quite a few years, Adobe disabled the servers that validated the software and it quit working. I complained and Adobe provided a standalone version. After a few years, I suddenly started getting notices along the lines of it was pirated software or I'd have to start paying a subscription for it. Turns out Adobe had installed a program on my computer without my permission that was doing this and I found it and disabled it. Adobe's CEO is a flat-out thief. Just neutral parties applying the law. Posted by: JM in Illinois at March 14, 2026 07:14 AM (wWENI) 112
mornin yall. My Dad's procedure at Emory yesterday was a success. They used focused ultrasound on his brain to stop the Parkinson's tremors in his left hand. The tremors were so bad he could hardly hold anything and now they are gone.
It took a year of tests and prep to get to this point but it's worth it. It does not cure Parkinson's, but will make his remaining time hopefully more pleasant. Posted by: fd at March 14, 2026 07:17 AM (vFG9F) 113
