17 I saw the cartoon with the pink haired girl in another forum I visit.

And it really is one of the core problems with leftism.

I remember during the Obamacare debate pointing out to leftists that if they thought healthcare was a right there was nothing stopping them from pooling their money with any group of people they wished and sharing costs equally.

And the answer was ALWAYS, but then YOU wouldn't have to pay for it

28 I worked for a water hauling company for a few years. One of our drivers hit a bull that had gotten out onto the highway. The truck caught on fire and burned completely, but, luckily, he escaped. The bull ran away. The next day, the brand inspector went out and found the bull outside the pasture. He got out to take a look at the damage on the bull and his brand, but the bull came after him, knocked him down, rolled him up and started back for more. The guy pulled his sidearm and shot the bull several times before the bull ran away. The brand inspector had a broken arm. I'm not sure what happened to the bull.

Yes and yes. We've been with Farmers for years and they're OK. My wife's six-month old car got totaled in a hail storm a few years ago, as in multiple broken windows and every body panel had multiple divots. Farmers was easy to deal with and treated us right. We have a local agent and he's been very helpful. I don't know how they are on price, years ago I shopped around and Farmers wasn't the cheapest, but were within $25 or so per year of the cheapest.

Progressive's ads blow goats, and the guy who runs the company is a big-time lib and donates tons of money to the Dims and liberal causes.

97 Teddie peanut butter is very good. No sugar just nuts and oil. Gotta stir it though.

Ditto with Trader Joe’s peanut butter.

Also, if you have a blender or a food grinder (such as an attachment to a stand mixer), you can make peanut butter easily enough with roasted peanuts and a little peanut oil. Then you can control everything that goes into it.

Including garlic.

Kroger natural peanut butter is pretty tasty. Peanuts and salt, that’s it. I pour off the peanut oil on the natural stuff.

Otherwise it runs about the consistency of pancake batter, which is also bullshit. Peanut butter in a sandwich needs to be about 3/8ths to 1/2” thick, and needs to stay put, not drip all over everything. Shit sure gets complicated these days with corporations run by nicklefvckers.

212 Adam Clayton, bass guitarist of U2, was born today in 1960. If you don't care for Bono, you may like this one off of the "rockumentary" album Rattle And Hum, since B.B. King's stage presence takes over; it's also just one of my favorite songs of theirs. Since this is about Adam, I suggest listening to the absences of the bass, how he builds tension by removing the steady presence he built up, and then a single note is enough for an emphasis:

233 Accents? This native Oklahoman went to college in Wisconsin. I spoke standard urban major network television. No sub-titles needed.

Sitting in my room one day, friends asked about my lack of accent. I tried to imitate a rural Oklahoma accent. Naw, I said, that's more Deep South. I tried another accent, but decided that was too South Texas. Again I tried an accent, but, no, that was more Arkansas-Missouri hillbilly.

It was at that moment that the only other student there from Oklahoma was looking for me, and from down the hall, we heard this loud gal's voice hollering, "Wharr's th' gaahyy from OAK-luh-HOma?"

I exclaimed, "That's it! That's the accent!" Followed by, "Quick! Close the door!"

No catfish in Wyoming... the water is too clean.
Catfish are not native to earth, they're an alien species. When I was a kid, you could go down to the Monongahela, throw a line in the water with a worm on it and catch a catfish. The river was lined with steel mills and heavy industry for miles, and everything got dumped in the river. The only thing anyone ever caught was catfish, because normal.earth species would be poisoned by all that crap, but catfish... catfish thrived.
I won't eat catfish. Who knows how that alien protein is gonna react with humans. I'll bet that serial killers eat a lot of catfish.

The wife and I get the oldest by himself tomorrow. Brother has T-ball practice them we'll get him probably about 1 ish. Older is looking forward to hanging out with us without his shadow. I'm loving watching those two. They are a bit farther apart than my brother and I but the dynamics are the same. I can almost read their minds when they fight. It's like living it again.
Older will start pushing buttons.
Younger falls for it.

I have come to the realization that states that claim to spend a lot on money to help or take care of such people, really don't.

Stingy states like South Carolina somehow always do have money, and the people get help.

FWIW, I have a nice specimen of stibnite crystals, came from central Montana. Stibnite is the major ore of antimony. Stuff is pretty widespread, but rarely found in large mineable deposits. But there are plenty of little mines, maybe worked for gold and silver, that had stibnite as an accessory mineral. If antimony was really valuable, and nearly impossible to get on the market, those little mines could be reopened, or their waste dumps reworked, and antimony produced.

Probably the reason that particular mine is Canada's only antimony mine is that it's one of those metals where one or two big producers own the market, and the price is based more on long-term contracts than a spot market.

311 Sitting in my room one day, friends asked about my lack of accent.

Posted by: mindful webworker

The "Minnesota Accent," as spoken by Marge Gunderson in Fargo, is a real thing. Oh, yah shure, ya betcha, donchaknow.

But it's like hillbilly-speak everywhere. A small group of multi-generational rural folk speak that way. Go to Minneapolis? Or Fargo/Moorhead? Nobody there talks like that, unless they're visiting from the farm near Bemidji.

You might hear a bit of the "Swedish Chef" sing-song cadence, since most of the MN settlers were Norwegians and Swedes.

One of my brothers, who moved to Missouri (Mizz-uhr-uh), was accused of having a Canadian accent.

From Detroit south thru Toledo (where I grew up) south to Bowling Green OH to US-6 and west to the Fulton-Lucas county line, the locals have the same pronunciation and grammar/syntax as was taught at Specs Howard. South of US-6 and west of Lucas and Wood Counties, one hears "warsh", not "wash", and dropped infinitives (my car "needs washed", not "needs to be washed"), regardless of demographics or educational level. 341 Soaps were laughably idiotic! But then, what could a hausfrau have for company back in the Big3 network days?

Serious question: was Dark Shadows in color? Because we had only a B/W tv back then.

342 In general, I thought soap operas were the stoooopidest things ever to be on TV.

And then Reality TV made them look positively brilliant.

344 Visiting a friend at hospital, buzz in the hall, General Hospital's coming on! All of the green shirts that could gathered in the visitor room to watch.

These people are taking care of patients?
Very disappointing.

345 Heh. I don't watch much tv.. Only have it on when company wants to watch. BIL watches FNM bs.. thankfully, can mute it & subtitles for him.

Last time it was on, was when MY bro & his son visited last summer-- had kid shows on for the lil guy.

No cabletv, just roku streaming.

2 TVs here, well 4 if you count the one in the works shop and the gaming TV, but 2 of them burn like the flame on kennedy's grave. One in the living room, where Mrs B can see it while she's buzzing around the house doing shit, and one in the family room where my computer and guitars are. They're always on.
