Crazy Red Bull race down the mesas and ridges of a Utah desert.

Urban bike run in Valparaiso, Chile.

Another cool marble race.

Skateboarding down a mountain.

Chess boxing.

Female chess boxing. They're both kind of cute, so they're both terrible at boxing.

Drone agility race.

Drone agility race: Human controller vs. AI.

Rudy the bulldog SLAYS the agility course. I mean, I guess he slays. Honestly I have no idea if this is good for a bulldog or not. He is cute, though.

From Jackass 4.5: Down the Clown.

Wingsuiters enter a cargo plane through the cargo door.

Skydiving without a parachute. Don't worry, he has friends with him who have parachutes.

48 Willowed from the Week in Woke thread, because of course I am late to every thread:
I have hashimoto's thyroiditis and want to weigh in on the thyroid conversation. Levothyroxine is a garbage product that doesn't do squat for most people. It is the bottom of the barrel of thyroid medications. There are much better options that are made from pigs, for instance, that mimic much more closely human thyroid hormones. Also, doctors poorly understand the thyroid function, and they don't test for T3 and T4 levels along with the basic TSH levels. In my experience endocrinologists are the worst people to ask for help with a thyroid condition, and the best are people who actually want to do more than write a prescription and collect your money for an office visit.
End of rant.

Effin' marbles. We used to have this pretty cool Halloween Parade in my old home town. Bands, floats, the works. It was a big deal in a small town.

Then, "Animal House" came out. My old hometown was, also, a small college town. So, a bunch of college kids saw "Animal House" and thought it would be a fantastic idea to drop about 5,000 marbles down the main street as the high school band was marching through. There was a few yelps, much clanking, and a couple dental issues that resulted. And, that was the last Halloween Parade in that small town. Never happend again.

You are right that thyroid meds made from pigs is a better medication for the thyroid; however, it can cause atrial fibrillation and for those who have it or are prone to it exacerbation is a certainty.

Saying that docs don't do complete thyroid function, you left out free TSH, may be from personal experience. What each doc does is different and we are always free to ask for a complete workup.

And prayers for both of you also.

I've had the Horde keep me company plenty of times at the hospital....digitally. Back to work but beer is looking good.

98 94 I’ll probably be buying a new car soon. One with AC — yippee!

I agree with you almost 99% because I'd rather watch a women's fast pitch softball game than an MLB game.

102 RMBS, probably not, unfortunately.

I won’t go into details.

Bummer. Perhaps next year. In the meantime, enjoy the new car and the ac.

105 This might be apocrypha, but, apparently, Rush had been touring with KISS, in 1976, and after their final set on the tour they spilled a big bunch of marbles onto the stage during KISS's set.

Knowing Rush like I do, I find this very plausible.

106 If memory serves; free TSH measures the amount in the blood produced by the pituitary gland. If free TSH is high it indicates that the thyroid is not producing enough hormone thus it's being over worked and needs supplementation.

113 106, yes, that is what the free TSH test does.

And the antibody test tells if you have Hashimoto's, which is an autoimmune disease.

I saw them in Fort Worth the other day. One hell of a show. And Annika can jam. What a great show.

For any Rush fan I highly recommend!

116 74 I missed the Carnival post, so I'll just throw in my $0.02 here. Carnival has to get a handle on this, and quickly, or they will not survive. For much of the cruising public now, Carnival is a line to be avoided. That will be fatal if they can't turn the perception around.

117 The flight speed of that cargo plane is pretty niffty. It is negative. I pretty sure negative flight speed is not trimmable. And even if it were trimmable you'd be dynamically unstable, like a typical canard config. And I'm not sure you could rotate your constant rpm prop blades enough at cruise power to get that level of reverse thrust.
