The Ocho Cafe

I didn't know this, but the fake ESPN channel created for Dodgeball, ESPN8 "The Ocho" -- "If it's almost a sport, it must be The Ocho!" -- was actually turned into a real annual event by ESPN.

The actual dodgeball championships, US v. Canada, from 2014.

High-speed downhill soapbox derby racing.

Soapbox derby, Wacky Races Division.

High speed downhill-racing skateboarding.

Skateboarding down a Norwegian mountain road. When he balances by touching his gauntleted hand to the pavement, sparks fly. I like that.

Jetsuit racing (finals). If you want to see the earlier heats, start at about 8:00.

Women's division rock-climbing championships.

Rock-climbing on a dam.

Japanese (who else?) Mech MMA.

This whole video showing bikers testing the newest version of the Redbull Hardline extreme bike course is worth watching, but if you want to cut to the really good part, go here, to see the ramp jump across a chasm that I was sure was just a promotional thing that no one intended to actually jump. Wrong, they do jump it. It's insane. Several make it and one wipes. After testing it, and being told repeatedly "that jump will kill somebody," they decided the jump was just too insane and so they removed it from the bike course.

43 We (three in our crew) used to host sanctioned AMA Observed Trials riding events in the High Sierra. Everything is slow speed but scary as hell. I broke three ribs going no faster than 2-3 miles an hour.

Those guys shown on the downhill videos are a rare breed. One wrong move and you're never riding again Sonny Bono style.

Took us five summers just to cut six miles of trail (loop) through dense, third-growth forest. USFS rangers were reasonable with a few prickly exceptions

CNN has the video of the refueler that landed in the 2 plane issue - the landed plane has noticeable tail damage. It was well done of the pilot to safely land it.

In the refuelers - yes. HOWEVER, the Air Force cheaped out in 2008 and took them out. So, they currently have none. I think the enemy have figured that out, so we need these sitting ducks fixed asap both inside and outside the plane.

Parachutes are cheap - and can save at least 4-5 of the normal 6 folks on board...
