Wingsuit vs. Jetsuit Cafe

audreyhepburnautomat.jpg
Audrey Hepburn at a NYC automat cafe, 1951

Baby pig liberated from pet store -- to be honest, that sounds like they just conned the pet store to give them a pig for free -- is raised by her big brother dog.

In case you missed it: All Day Batman Dreams About Sex.

Hotel has two special greeters.

Deaf 100 pound dog plays nanny to rescue beagle's puppies.

Stray cat starts following woman and her dog on walks in hopes of being adopted.

Going on a hike with your pet bears.

Coyote would like to be adopted as if he were a dog. But that can't happen, so they catch him and pair him with a lonely female coyote already in captivity.

Come out to the coast, we'll lay a few slot car tracks, we'll have a few laughs...

From trash to treasure: sickly, mangy husky dumped in an actual dumpster is rescued and is the prettiest girl now.

Another dog rescued from the trash.

Butterbean the baby goat was born too weak to stand, but his rescue dog brothers teach him how to walk and jump.

In case you missed it: Toy farm.

In case you missed it: Incredible tornado footage.

Earlier I mentioned Toto. Here's "Africa," but with all the lyrics changed to the countries of Africa. So like if you're going on Jeopardy, this is useful.

Wingsuit, con: has no jets to help fight gravity if you don't stay in the right orientation

Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani
@NYCMayor
The attack on Temple Israel in West Bloomfield, Michigan is horrifying. My thoughts are with the congregation and all who are shaken by this act of antisemitic violence. I am continuing to closely monitor the situation. Out of an abundance of caution, the NYPD will continue to deploy high-visibility patrols to Jewish religious and cultural institutions across the five boroughs.

Of course, Mrs. Zohran is celebrating by throwing candy to the children in the street.

I'm hoping that as they become less of an exotic luxury accessory and more accessible to ordinary shooters that increased demand will lead to increased production and new producers thus driving prices down. Really, there's no practical reason that a metal tube with some twisty bits inside should command that kind of price. It's just a matter of the numbers getting big enough to amortize the design and production startup costs.

Get yourself a mini-mill, make a 'universal bushing' or two* and pay the ATF's $0 tax! Like trigger groups the barrel bushing would be the registered part that you can attach home rolled cans too. Do it all above board of course. It is intended to cut costs, not circumvent regs. Because retail is still too fricken high. Granted titanium cans would be pricey homemade or not.

*I think there are two common barrel thread size, and the big one for 50 BMG.

A week at a time, with two days off, then repeat. Wife, sons, and I lived off post, and going home after each shift was out of the question, so I slept in the battalion aid station between shifts.

The punchline: the barracks I patrolled had a bier vending machine, 2 DM a flasch (roughly equivalent to a 22 oz bomber). Kept me from going stir-crazy.

Then again, each nation's contingent had their own bars at South Camp. The Limey civilian contractors had the Wild Geese pub, two US dive bars in converted conex containers, the Canadian helo squadron and Italian Navy had their own places, the Dutch MPs and commo specialists had The Milkmaid (I still have the T-Shirt with the busty Dutch cartoon chick sucking on a straw, although it doesn't fit anymore). What I didn't see:

#1 Control The Weapon

then go to work with the knife.

Actually I would be pounding the crap out of the attacker's face to disorient once the weapon has been put under control. Use the handle of the knife as a way to break bone.

Then you can go all butcher shop - but if you have the firearm under control and the perp disoriented, in effect the firearm is yours and if still operable, that is now your primary weapon.

CNS with one round, then look around for accomplices.

239 Sir, some of us are Evangelicals here.

Roman Catholics look to 2033 as Symbolic Anniversary for Celebration and Reflection

Rick Warren is targeting the date for Global Evangelization where everyone will have heard the Gospel in their own language. (Apparently he hasn't read Col 1:23)

Its the Rapture Kooks who are almost all exclusively Evangelical of the American Religion who missed out on the 1988 Rapture and the 2012 Mayan Doomsday, and are too impatient for Isaac Newton's 2060 AD Second Coming (using 2 Peter 3:8 logic with Daniel 12:7 and Charlemagne's crowning 800 + 1260 = 2060).

This fetish of date setting makes orthodox Christians look like fools by association, so its best to keep the Evangelicals at a distance.

Luckily, we are all of one God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and One Lord, Jesus Christ.

Unlike the muzzies, who worship Satan, or the animists who worship who knows what, or the Hindus and Buddhists who worship, again, who knows what all.

Christians are closer to each other than they are to any other.

Date setting is great if you are planning a vacation or retirement, but is counter productive if planning for end of the world scenarios.

On the surface you might claim that, but any scrutiny you wouldn't. For example, in the statement above, you would read in John 1:1-3 "Through him [Jesus] all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made"; Colossians 1:16 says "by [Jesus] all things were created... all things were created through Him and for Him"

So did the Godhead make all things (Gen 1:1; Acts 17:24) or did the Father who you claim, or did Jesus, as the NT writers say?

Doctrine would state that the Father is the Source, Jesus is the Agent and the Paraclete as Executor.

I seriously doubt that Evangelicals would even care.

I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; he descended into hell; on the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church,
the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting.

Amen.

I think that just about sums it up.

Protestants left out all sorts of things, but at least they got the NT correct.

Argue all you like, but the Bible was set by the 4th Century, until Martin Luther came along and chucked out a few books. Not sure that was called for, honestly, but the books he threw out didn't jive with his own personal theology.

So, there's that.

I categorize Baptists as Fundamentalist, not Evangelical, since they're more concerned with being Scripturally correct than "seeker-friendly." My authority is just personal experience as my family moved around a lot growing up, and also changed churches between moves.

In addition to Evangelical and Fundamentalist churches, I also attended a Pentecostal church, and eventually ended up Traditional (Roman Catholic specifically, but I include Orthodox in the type). I never attended a Mainline Protestant denomination, so I don't know if a further distinction would need to be drawn within that group, or if Presbyterian, Episcopalian, Lutheran, etc. are all close enough to the same.
