The Red Bull Series has been going in Australia / New Zealand. That's been mostly Downhill stuff. The Enduro series is really different and cool: Riders have to ride out to the start of each individual section of the circuit. Then, they have to bomb the downhill sections, unseen/blind. Then, ride to the start the next section. Repeat that 4-6x for the day.
Very cool and very technical racing. Blind running those courses is a whole different beast than sessioning the Downhill track for 2-3 days prior to your runs.

As for piloting, some of that is a trade secret but I can allow that some don't necessarily require an operator in all circumstances. There is always a human in the loop though.
Anti UAS is emerging but we have concepts that don't require A2A engagement. Look up LOCUST for an example.

As for piloting, some of that is a trade secret but I can allow that some don't necessarily require an operator in all circumstances. There is always a human in the loop though.
Anti UAS is emerging but we have concepts that don't require A2A engagement. Look up LOCUST for an example.

There's the obvious reason for the prices going up now, but not to be overlooked is the usual seasonal shutdowns of some refineries to switch over to seasonal "summer blends"
This has the effect of choking supply and raising prices every single year other than the covid year, so there's that.

This is a drastic improvement from the whole “THERE WILL BE NO CEASEFIRE!” statements from a couple days ago.
They know Trump wants to pull out of this mess. He's desperate to claim that he stopped a war he himself started, and ask some prize.
The Iranian Head of the National Security Council, Ali Larijani:
“Tonight we received messages from the U.S. president, through the Omani mediator, requesting that we negotiate a ceasefire. Our response is that we will not accept any negotiations as long as an entity called Israel exists.”
Iran just emphatically denied this report, and is saying it wants to continue fighting and has no interest in a ceasefire. I don’t think it makes much sense for Iran to bother asking for a ceasefire when they pretty clearly control the straight of Hormuz.

Most all of them do. Control signals can't always be counted on in a battlefield environment so there is a lot of effort on the logic used if the command link is interrupted. Problem from the defender side is that while it's (relatively) simple to jam (there are realistically just six frequencies in the RF band being used) you can't predict the autonomous behavior. More effective to just destroy the drone.

This is public info so I'm not giving anything away. A Switchblade UAS has a range of around 20-25 miles. You don't have to be line of sight to control it. The launch platform is flexible so yes, they can be air launched.

The problem I have with this trip is that most of the world is primitive enough that they'll take the wrong lesson from this meeting, and see Trump as the supplicant being summoned to an audience with a superior.

I always suspected this, but it was pretty common IIRC that she would be called out by her sister's son or something getting implicated in a murder that she has to clear. That would take lots of work to set that up but be able to take that emergency call in days before cell phones.

"govern" and "maintain loyalty of the troops" are two very different things. If the thugs are forted up in bunkers or only come out to shoot up things they aren't governing much at all.

I wonder if these are the under $2k drones like Ukraine has been using effectively. Of course they have to be within ? a couple miles to operate theirs. Plus Ukraine's operators had to be on the move, since Russkie artillery would zone in on their signal and direct fire at them.

The low cost drones were usually used for low level action - for infantry to scout the near area, perhaps drop a grenade on a strong point. More serious systems with more complex missions are more expensive.
