The Morning Report — 3/11/26

Morning Report intro.jpg

Good morning kids. We're into the twelfth day of military operations against the Iranian regime and while we seemingly have blown their navy out of the water, the Strait of Hormuz, one of the most strategic waterways in the world is where much of the action is now focused.

A projectile hit a cargo ship Wednesday in the Strait of Hormuz, setting the vessel ablaze after the United States targeted Iranian minelaying vessels that could target the narrow mouth of the Persian Gulf.

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations center, run by the British military, said the vessel had been hit just north of Oman in the strait.

It said the crew was evacuating the ship.

Iran did not immediately claim the attack though it has been targeting ships in and around the strait, disrupting a waterway that sees a fifth of all oil and natural gas traded pass through it.

Along with lobbing missiles at neighboring nations, the intentional targeting of foreign flagged ships by Iran is likely an attempt to force external pressure by the rest of the world on President Trump to cease fire and call it quits. It's a race against time for the US and Israel to either destroy and/or degrade Iran's retaliatory/strike capabilities before they have a chance to use them or otherwise exhaust their stocks of these missiles and make them surrender. My concern is the Chi-Coms. They are desperate for and rely heavily on Iranian oil. If the Strait of Hormuz is cut off, how will they react to force it open. And in any case, a collapse of the Mullahocracy means loss of a strategic regional ally, assuming a Trump-approved government takes its place, which might also put a serious crimp in China's access to the oil it needs. All of that in my mind could perhaps push Xi to make a move on Taiwan.

Whatever one thinks about the President's attack on Iran, back here at home this report is a head-scratcher and frankly pissing me the hell off:

In a private meeting, James Blair, the White House Deputy Chief of Staff, encouraged House Republicans to adjust how they discuss immigration. He suggested shifting away from talk of “mass deportations” and narrowing the administration’s efforts to deport only confirmed dangerous criminals. This guidance arises from worries that Democrats are effectively painting Trump’s immigration approach as excessively sweeping, despite President Donald J. Trump campaigning on an ambiguous promise to deport all illegal aliens. Blair reportedly shared these thoughts in a policy discussion at the yearly House Republican retreat held in Doral, Florida. . . The shift is drawing sharp criticism from many in the President’s MAGA base, some of whom were already unhappy with the administration’s embrace of neoconservative foreign policy by launching the ongoing war in Iran. “I voted for no new wars & mass deportations. Why are we stopping the mass deportations and starting a new war?” asked Caroline Sunshine, who acted as deputy communications director for the Trump 2024 campaign.

Regarding the attack on Iran, lest we forget that Iran via its terror proxies and its own capabilities has spilled rivers of blood and quite a bit of it American since Jimmy Carter helped the current regime take over 47 years ago, and since then they have been hell bent on bringing about armageddon — primarily via the acquisition and use of nuclear weapons — as the precursor for the arrival of the 12th Imam to usher in the internal age of Islam ruling the world.

"Death to America" is not merely a sweet little nothing you whisper in a Vassar co-ed's ear to get her to hop into the sack with you (Of course failing that, there's always rape in the name of decolonization!) This has been Iran's national motto and battle cry since 1979. President Trump is merely the first president in all that time to take them at their word and is doing what he can and must to prevent that from happening, unlike any of his predecessors in all that time, one in particular who actually shared that view. Of course I mean Barack Hussein Obama who did more to aid and abet the Iranian nuclear weapons program by giving them political/diplomatic cover/legitimacy and shoveling billions of dollars at them. Obama was the black Tucker Carlson of the Rosenbergs.

But I digress. Wow did I digress! As far as illegal aliens are concerned. Sorry, but all of them regardless of criminal record or lack thereof are a danger and threat to our safety, security and to societal cohesion in general.

To James Blair, I say, justify to me how it is in the best interest of this nation to allow anyone who came here illegally to remain here and benefit — and that is the perfect word to use — from being here at the cost to our fellow citizens, monetarily and otherwise. Awarding and encouraging criminal behavior is antithetical to the founding of this nation and to its moral and ethical underpinnings that are the basis or are supposed to be the basis of our society and government.

Sorry, this is an absolute non-starter for me. Every one of the millions, perhaps 44 million or more by now, foreigners here on our soil without our approval and permission must be removed. No ifs ands or buts. With that in mind, I give you this, your emetic of the day:

Rachel Zegler, the woke actress who played the woke Hispanic Snow White for the 2025 live action Disney movie recently addressed the tremendous backlash she received for her performance in the film, finally concluding with this sentiment: “I refuse to assimilate for anybody else’s comfort.”

Oh, you don’t say. . .

. . . So Zegler doesn’t want to assimilate because she comes first—like every other foreigner living off the comforts and privileges America affords while actively working to destroy it.

And Zegler I am assuming is a legal immigrant! To me this is someone defecating on the grave of my dear mother of blessed memory, who survived Mauthausen, forced labor brigades and a death march and waiting for four years to arrive here and kissed the ground when she stepped on American soil. She refused to teach me her native tongue, Hungarian, because of what they did to her and her family in aiding and abetting the Nazis in virtually wiping out the second largest Jewish population in Europe. Fuck you, and vayr gehargit, Rachel Zegler.

Have a great Day!

22 I've been saying since Trump was elected that the midterms don't matter.

It won't stop anyone here from obsessing over them daily like a teen girl with her copy of Tiger Beat - but they don't matter. If the GOP wins, they'll keep right on obstructing Trump at every turn and forcing ugly confrontations about vetos and things. He'll have to keep on governing by executive order, as he is right now.

If the Democrats win, they'll keep right on obstructing Trump at every turn and forcing ugly confrontations about impeachment and things. They won't have the votes for it. He'll have to keep on governing by executive order, as he is right now.

Congress is a meaningless institution as long as he's President.

51 by Iran is likely an attempt to force external pressure by the rest of the world on President Trump to cease fire and call it quits

Or, to piss them off enough to bring about the Armageddon you mention. That is a very likely motivation for the true believers.

Posted by: GWB at March 11, 2026 07:37 AM (2EYEO)

52 The strategy they are using has been obvious for decades. It matters little what laws are passed, particularly what with corrupt judicial rulings, and an unwillingness to enforce our laws. The highest court held that citizen taxpayers are on the hook financially for education of illegal aliens in public schools. An absurd an offensive notion, but over the years they have made citizenship a second class designation.

Offshoring whole swaths of industry and inshoring an army of low paid foreign nationals. Wages stagnant since the 1970s. And financial jiggery-pokery that allows for paying the able bodied not to work, and unscrupulous sorts to make serious bank importing more illegals by the millions. They get rich while destroying the country. It’s all really quite elegant from a certain perspective , and everything becomes moot, regardless of black letter federal law, the wishes of the public, or anything else.

We have a pathway! It's called apply in your country and legally go through the process like all those that came before you. I'm sick and tired hearing the phrase "pathway to citizenship." We already have one. I'm sick of hearing about "immigration reform." We need the laws we already have enforced!

79 Not that it matters, but Rs finally won a special local election...and it happened here in NoVa. It only took the Ds nominating an absolute hater of all but Arab Muslims (I'd list his "ists" from his own tweets, but I'd break the character limit) and a voter turnout where 1600 votes won...but it was a +40D area.

It helped Rs that when he wouldn't drop (despite every D calling him to do so), Ds ran a write in campaign with the primary D loser with one week left to split the vote...if those folks had voted D, the awful D would have won.

So, now Rs have actually, officially flipped a seat, even it was all local issues...

80 Trump says US destroyed 10 'inactive' Iranian mine-laying ships in Strait of Hormuz, 'more to follow'

Its interesting to see what happens when the US doesn't invite in Europeans and this becomes a straight up Force against Force.

Iran went into Total War mode where they don't care about collateral damage or harm to non participants. They go by the theory that War is supposed to be Hell and so awful that everyone wants to end it.

The problem for the US is that we are still stuck in the Win Hearts & Minds™ thinking yet doing the targeting of things with a more narrow yet intense ROE.

I wonder how Patton would have handled it.

Never pay attention to what this administration says, it is what they do that matters. If the deportations slow, then there is a problem, if not, then ignore whatever is said.

Basically, this administration being under 24/7 attack does not highlight whatever its plans are, you have to wait until things happen (or not). And this administration is tackling more issues than any GOP administration has at least since Coolidge. Foreign affairs to prevent the Chicoms from dominating the world, taking out terrorists and drug dealers killing our people, trying to make energy cheap and available, fixing our 70 year degradation of our industrial capacity, keeping our kids from being neutered, trying to fix our elections, highlighting the illegalities of our nat sec IC under Obama and Biden, getting rid of DIE in schools and industry, etc. etc.

Tactics on issues demands rhetorical flexibility and not perfection.

The Washington Wizards are not a real basketball team this year...150 pts to the opponents without OT is a reflection of how bad they are vs maybe how great Adebayo is. Now, to be fair, as a D league team, Washington had no one who could cover him, so most of the game was toss him the ball after crossing half court and watch him score.

93 I'm not upset about the White House urging messaging on deporting criminal illegals rather than mass deportations before the midterms. Right now, Trump is not polling well on the issue of deportations whether we like it or not which is not surprising given the left and the media have been demonizing and lying about Trump for a year on the issue. Make Democrats defend deporting criminal illegals, something that does have broad support.

The White House also confirmed yesterday there is no change in Trump's deportation plans. It's a messaging issue. If the actual plan changes then I'll be angry but this isn't that.

I disagree with you here: They have the votes for impeachment.

Furthermore Supreme Court is finished. Thomas will retire someday, and without SAVE Act (which will never happen under the current composition of the Congress) the Senate will forever be Marxist Communist. It will be empty judge seats and empty or court appointed US Attorneys. Justice will be a thing of the past.

We already know that judges have greater authority than the POTUS and the SCOTUS will eventually be ground down by the hundreds of mini-POTUSes and the endless lawsuits and relent.

That is why Trump is doing All The Things Now. Because he has one year to save America unless we Beat The Cheat this 2026 Election Season.

The firebrand GOPer, a former state senator named Colton, tried a last ditch slime attack by proxy which didn't work. Yes...I'm not sure how they have any wins, but in the NBA, normally there are now 3-4 teams each year that are on purpose awful, trying to get draft picks, and those teams do play each other and someone has to win.

It's like having the D league in the real league every year. It's when I stopped watching regularly (and now just check in every week or so) when the Sixers took that plan of losing, but then kept at it for 3-5 years...and it didn't win them anything later anyway...

Which is why we cannot spare Trump, like Lincoln said of General Grant, "he fights". He might make errors but those are good faith errors trying to steer the ship of state through a lot of storms.

And like Lincoln having to go to extraordinary lengths to try to hold the country together over slavery and secession, Trump is trying to confront the enemies of the US, domestic and foreign, so that our children may have a better tomorrow. That is a fight worth winning.

149 117 I'm sure the Dems will be chirping about finishing first in the MTG seat jungle primary. Short lived because the total of the next four finishers, all Republicans, will crush them in the runoff

I'm hoping for the opposite in the CA gubernatorial race. Theoretically with a bunch of dems on the ballot and only two republicans, the result of the open primary could be those two republicans on the general election ballot guaranteeing a republican governor. Almost certainly won't happen but it's a mathematical possibility!

163 It's not just gas prices that are/will go up due to the war. Since most everything uses fuel to move commodities from point A to B those goods are going to cost more.

Some goods, a lot more. Depending on how far away they are and how they're moved from there to here.

Container shipping is being hit hard with fuel costs. Tankers that typically move fuel products from the Middle East to North America are not moving much of that fuel right now. So, gas and diesel prices go up.

Opening the Hormuz would alleviate some of this. Whether this is priority #1 or 2 or 3 with the Iran war is debatable.

I can see that House members were cautioned about not appearing 'mean' in deportations but rather to focus primarily on the criminals, whack jobs, and terrorists. Removing those polls the best right now and the fact that Democrats are so desperate to keep those pet criminals in the US highlights the whole message that Democrats hate citizens and love criminals/terrorists both foreign and domestic.

Trump used close to that line in his SOTU.

Now Cornyn faces a runoff where the turnout is going to be less than the primary and trending away for low info primary voters. The answer is how those Senators got their office and who are their donors and benefactors including their families. As Data Republican has shown, it is a galaxy of connections in the ruling class that is best looked at as an Corporate and NGO-Government complex. Each of those senators is 'owned' by someone and increasing by those who are out of state but with large wallets.

Few, if any of those senators are truly of the people and as they end up serving terms until death or serious illness, they become more and more distant from the people. And that is the Keystone of government corruption, not the House, but the Senate.

Lots of people talk about the processes of government while, apparently, remaining ignorant of them. Impeachment is irrelevant. Conviction by the Senate (which happens after, and is separate from, impeachment) matters.

There are currently 53 nominal Republican Senators. Let's assume that the mid-terms go badly and we lose 3 seat... that's why I said 50/50 Senate. People voted for Trump (Trump fatigue, backroom deals), not Republicans - so Senators will risk pissing off their voters because they have a sadz? SAVE Act... mimetic theory... what?

What got her into trouble was openly disparaging Disney's classic (and first?) animated movies, and bragging that in her version, Snow White would be a girlboss who didn't need a man to save her blah blah blah.

It was never about her comforting her audience, it was about respecting them, respecting the opportunity of playing a beloved character, respecting the original material while giving it a little update instead of completely trashing it.

Most likely, yes.

It's a sign of deep weakness, an invalid, in perception, power structure putting up a figurehead that they can't even put out in public to try and galvanize the people. They can't put forward their actual leadership because the actual leadership is either too ungalvanizing or just too exposed to immediate death from above to have any actual effect.

They're digging in, putting on dog and pony shows that no one buys, to distract. Considering Israel's deep intel dive into Iranian government, though, it's probably useless.

I think people are reading way too much into this. Like it or not Trump is not polling well on the deportation issue right now. The media and Democrats are working overtime to lie and muddy the waters over this issue because losing millions of illegals is an existential problem for the Democrat Party.

We are in the midterm election cycle and the only change is the messaging. Deporting criminal illegals is a lot more popular with the general voting public than mass deportation. Many people don't understand how many of our current problems are related to having millions of illegals in he country draining resources and driving up costs. And they vote.

Win the midterms. That's the goal and you tailor your message to win elections.

The Air Force is just flying over the area hitting smaller targets with impunity.

Plus, the strait is mostly oil to Europe and to China. That does affect global prices, but futures are not buying the idea that this is a massive disruption, especially if Iranian oil is mostly being affected.

It should be noted that Iran's oil industry has taken a few heavy beatings (mostly because the Iranian oil industry is designed to benefit the IRGC more than the people), and that should be affecting futures prices more than a temporary slowdown of traffic through the strait. But that mostly goes to China, which China buys under the radar to avoid Iranian directed sanctions. Iranian oil sold at $30 a barrel to China suddenly getting shut down will have less of an effect than Biden regulations on American oil production.

Even magas know Paxton is a slimeball. Talrico has a chance. If Talarico can convince Hispanic voters to show up, he should destroy.

It's a mess. Destroy the delivery vehicles (ships or aircraft capable of laying mines) to minimize the threat.

There’s a mountainous ridge a couple thousand feet high in the way. And I don’t think trying to do a Fitzcarraldo with a modern oil tanker is advisable.

Well, in a world of drones and missiles, you cannot maneveur a ship in a canal. And a sunk ship means that the canal is closed for a long while. So sitting ducks requiring a lot of defensive anti missile and drone defenses . The problem is Iran's regime, not the Strait.

355 Poorly phrased, the speed boat clusters were a separate threat as Iranian tactics go along with mine laying. If you want sheer mayhem though, you can float mines rather than anchor them simply to raise risk levels. Mine fields are mainly defensive, floating mines without tethering is offensive designed to cause FUD.

Per a quote midway through the article:
"Parnell stressed that most of these wounds are not serious, and 108 troops have already resumed their roles." Took a second read-through to find that there have been 7 service members who passed in the line of duty, and it calls out the attack within Kuwait specifically.

When we hear "casualty", we think dead bodies. Breaking down into wounded and dead for the headline would have been better. Right now, it looks like they're playing Motte and Bailey with the language.

Because unlike the msm propaganda, most gay males were introduced to gaydom by older gays--they weren't born this way and some come from being physically abused. Same as an astounding percentage of lesbians were sexually or physically abused.

And that is why you get a very high domestic violence quotient from lesbian relationships and an insatiable body count and domestic violence among male gays with marriage not being a bar in any way to pursuit of ass.
