Costco has a block of English Cheddar, it's a bit crumbly so might not be suitable for bakery (I have no idea). The local grocery store has an orange Wisconsin cheddar that doesn't cost as much, not crumbly and melts easier. But there is no comparison, they are completely different cheeses. I buy the large block thinking I'll never be able to eat it all (my wife doesn't like dairy), but I manage. I eat it for the occasional snack, since I swore off potato chips and Doritos.

Coscto cheese is dangerous because they have giant wedges all the way up to a full round, and I like cheese, good quality cheese, and I can very easily convince my self it is actually super healthy to eat more cheese. Last visit I bought a quarter round and have been enjoying it for weeks. But I honestly don't know if I could stop at a quarter and may some day walk out with a full wagon wheel of cheese under my arms.

They're not.

Ships have been getting through for days. There's still resistance because of some one off attacks Iran has managed (also insurance rates and needing to overpay crews to do it), but the US and Israel have full air superiority over the strait and are pounding anything larger than a dinghy near the Iranian shore whenever they find it. Also, the strait is 25 miles wide at its narrowest point, and Iran can't project power over that without real ships.

200 With regards to the Hormuz... one issue that isn't being talked about a whole lot is the reluctance of crews to man a ship that's going to transit the Strait. They're sometimes (mostly) not, umm, highly educated or savvy enough to understand the "real" threats are fairly minimal at this point.

And, the insurance issues being a non-issue now isn't convincing everyone.

The Strait is 25 miles across. I don't believe that the navigable portion is. The traffic separation area is about 6 miles across, so figure a total of 15 miles from the Iranian shore. That's pretty narrow by naval combat standards.

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) warned civilians in Iran to stay away from ports along the Strait of Hormuz, stating that Iranian forces were using commercial facilities for military operations, which could make those areas legitimate targets under international law.

I'm guessing we're going to destroy any and all land-based threats along the Strait.

[My understanding is that Iran can't mine the Strait because the ChiComms are still depending on and want to get their oil through there.]

Trump's permitted China to get oil. But we could harass the ships. Pull them over to the curb, check their papers. Check them for weapons, drugs. Just generally delay and interrupt the shipment.
