Dog helps raise a fallen baby squirrel.

There's a little baby monkey who was rejected by his mother. "Punch" has gone viral this week. The little underdog is forced to play by himself, grooms his plushie because he has no one else to groom, and walks around with a stick because he doesn't have anyone to walk with.

But he seems to have now found a friend who even gives him a lift. He seems to be doing just fine now. Has he adopted a new mother?

12 I picked up two silencers today. I started the paperwork in early January, expecting the system to be totally overwhelmed, with a drought of silencers, after the "tax" dropped to zero dollars. I'm pleasantly surprised that my dealer has silencers in stock, and the ATF e-form system seems to have recovered.

On the way home, I stopped at a small town drive-in and had a Jumbo Wompus, a greasy double cheeseburger with a slice of deli ham, AKA "The Gentile Special."

Current market value, assessed value for tax, and insurance company's estimated replacement value all different.
In the article I assume it was the market value, which if new would be close to the insurance company's estimate.

Got my place for about $200k, current assessed value for taxes is about $350k, insurence company makes me carry closer to $500k for replacement value for a total loss.
On the positive side - they assume I can keep the land, underground utilities, and the slab on grade foundation will be reusable.

They have some complex empirical formulas for adjusting insurance rates, they are mandated by law, but the insurance company can pull any number they want out of their ass to 'adjust', and they do. Or just turn you away.
