The SIL I like least made a snarky comment that I could have "just slapped some make up on it" to my husband. Not that she'd know how to apply make up, being bitter and mean and liberal. My dude said our good SIL I love defended me. I will try to refrain from making a potato voodoo doll since it is Lent and I am behaving.
I did cut the Billy Joel song short above, altho I like him, due to the whistling. Some whistling I can tolerate, some I can't. I am not in the mood. Especially if someone whistles random noises. Or hums without it being a song. Get a room.

In my misspent youth I actually did some LARP stuff. Vampires and werewolves. I'm sure people remember the 90s. The interesting thing was people loved to talk big and threaten, but they always assumed that their threats were harmless. Like, just words. My take was that they were serious, and so whenever a threat was given I'd pause and ask: "Do you really mean that?"
And they'd say: "Yeah!" So I'd pull out an index card that said "GUN" and go "BANG!" The referee would laugh and say "Yeah, that's surprise, no reaction, you got smoked."
The weird thing is, this continued to happen. Totally flat learning curve.

Bucees started out as convenience stores. There are still some of those little ones in TX. I go to Bucees now and then to look around. They sell some nice gift items. It isn't all Beaver Nuggets and t-shirts. They also have cheap deer corn. And the bathrooms are really clean.

Clean restrooms. So many gas pumps that it's unlikely you'll have to wait. Good barbecue (for being on the road, it's actually great barbecue). A good selection of food (like some of the Loves or Pilots that I've been to). More jerky than your body has room for. Beaver Nuggets (think Cheetos with non-cheese flavors). My girls like it because it's 1/3 convenience store, 1/3 barbecue and jerky joint, and 1/3 American kitsch. Do you want a Cowboy Collins cookbook? Got it. Do you want a sign that says 'Margaritas 24:7' like it's a Bible verse? Got that too. What about sweatpants with lots of beavers on them, so many that the men in your life snicker without telling you why? Got 'em in whatever small-to-Texas size you want.

The oil market is going to bounce for awhile. The bullion market will keep bouncing. Right now it's feeding off both uncertainty and on the silver side, supply issues . I think the wildcard will be the Asian markets. Big money boys are going to start wondering how China's economy is going to react to their oil supply issues. If the Asian markets panics, nerds on Wall St will join in. I'm betting there are some frazzled traders who are snorting lines and pounding shots right now, trying to forget that Monday will be calling soon.

My body was throwing a tantrum. I had to keep reminding my weak psyche that I was in charge, and that I wasn't about to throw away weeks of disciplined resistance and control.
Day 28, my body threw a fit. It was nasty, but I fought through it. The next day, it was as if a fever had broken. Symptoms fled.

I had my dinner at a local pub today, one that has good food and caters to an older crowd. I like to sit at the bar and have a couple of drinks (just two)and enjoy a good, tasty dinner. Even here in deep blue Mass. the clientele were overwhelmingly supportive of this military action. Prayers up for all of our service members.
