Jean-Luc Brunel was ready to turn on the man who had been his patron and partner. The French modeling scout was prepared to tell prosecutors what he knew about Jeffrey Epstein's sex trafficking. Brunel was secretly negotiating in 2016 with lawyers representing Epstein's victims, according to newly released Justice Department files. Brunel's lawyer told them his client recruited girls for Epstein and had incriminating photographs. They discussed a date for Brunel to walk into the U.S. Attorney's office in New York--in exchange for immunity. "One of Epstein's bfs, Jean Luc Brunel, has helped get girls. He is wanting to cooperate," according to handwritten notes taken by a federal prosecutor in February 2016. "Brunel is afraid of being prosecuted." And then Brunel went dark.

The Epstein release has to be one of the biggest self owns of all time. A lot of it is innuendo and rumor. I'm also not sure Maxwell is in prison. The person who plead the 5th last week looked nothing like her.

The only good reason to doubt widespread use of body doubles in public life is that there is no way all those narcissistic midwits could keep a lid on it. Otherwise, it makes perfect sense.
We have seen that there is widespread knee-jerk corruption in our social elites; any perq that can be abused, will be abused, and body doubles are a real service offered by security companies to throw off paparazzi (or worse) from your real destination. So, it is logical to expect that clients would keep on pushing the boundaries of what they could use them for.
Why not tiresome public appearances where they have to be seen to attend, and don't have to talk to anyone but other elites who know the score? Why not cover for an illness? Why not cover for a hangover? Why not cover for a disability -- if you don't go on the Senate floor itself (b/c hoodie), then you're not breaking any laws, right?

Les wrote something like "you violated the first rule"
He didn't say what the rule was, but I'm thinking it might be "don't bang the underage models" re Victoria's Secret
So possibly Wexner was not aware of all that was going on with Epstein

That is a good rule, but I always thought the first rule of everything was "don't shit where you eat." It has many corollaries, such "don't stick your hand in the till" and "don't dip your wick in the company ink." Maybe "don't get caught" is a first rule for inveterate rule-breakers.
