Prancing bison.

A dog's greatest fantasy.

Cats do not even pretend to love all of their family members equally.

A dance-off with your dog.

All it takes to impress a cat is sorcery.

I can't guarantee this video is real, but I know pull-on masks are now of Mission: Impossible quality.

The guard dog lied on his resume.

Oof: Cyclists zoom off a road on to what is actually a driveway and don't see the turnpike blocking the drive until it clotheslines them.

This better not be AI.

Unexpected friendship.

Here's shift-tilt photography of a farm. I've linked that recently but it's worth a rewatch.

10 Lurker here. I have commented maybe 20 times in the 20+ years I have been reading Ace daily. But man I have to fuss about the latest ad behavior. It is brutal!

I would gladly subscribe to Ace so that my presence results in money for him if it would just get rid of this change. I know I can give via PayPal, but can I just Patreon or Substack or something so that it's regular and I don't have to think about it? Ace is worth it and so would getting rid of this new ad behavior.

I vaguely remember hearing about a browser add-on that does something like that. I don't remember what it was called but I'm sure anyone who cares to can find it. It "clicks" on all the links on a page but doesn't actually show you any of the results. So the page gets its monetization but you don't see the ads. If you explicitly click a link yourself, it opens normally.

There are so many little things you can do to car in order to give an advantage, the biggest is polishing the axels, adding graphite and the real advantage maker is bending the front axel of one wheel 10 degrees up so that it does not touch the track and you are running on three wheels instead of 4.

Raingutter regatta was way more fun - easy, entertaining, and immune from dads being way too intense.

I love dogs, but the lifestyle really don't leave room for one. We stay light on our feet. If the chance suddenly comes up for a trip, we lock the door and split. Dogs to me are the only animal on the planet that are actually happy to see a human. They see a human and they think play time. When I was in Florence Italy I stepped outside the hotel for a smoke and there was an old dude walking his dog, a smaller dog. The dog sees me and starts pulling the old man. The dog comes up to me with the tail wagging and is trying to put his paws on my knees to ho9ld himself up make himself taller so he can be pet. The older dude is trying to control him and was speaking italian to the dog, but the dog didn't give a shit. Thats when I knew dogs go nuts when they see a human, no matter where you are on the planet.

I grew up with dogs. And in my family they were family. And it never really stopped for me. Dogs have just always been part of the plan and I've been blessed with some great ones.

There always exceptions but I've always found that most dogs will give you back more love than you give them and even a dog who doesn't know you can sense someone who loves dogs. My mom did this to me and now I take Elvis to see her at the home. Some of the residents who hardly interact make an effort to come for a pet and a snuggle and tell me about the dog they had, often for the fifth or sixth time.

This isn't political. Americans of all types love their pets as family.

Is she also a doodie? My dog spent his first 9 months in a crate. He was not socialized at all and he is always going to be a little jumpy and quirky. His breed doesn’t help, either. We started slow with bringing him places - after he learned leash stuff. We just built confidence and continue to do that. But for the first month, we just let him settle and let him come to us. He is a thousand times better, but he is never going to let strangers pet him. J was scarier to him than me, so J gave him cheese, played ball with him, fed him his meal every opportunity he had, and that built a bond. It was just time and doing things with him.
