39 This painting, says Wiki, had its versions appear between 1819 and 1830; so this is a little late for The Scarecrow or the Swamp Fox. And it's German in any case.

And the two men seem to be contemplating an eclipse.

The 1824 version with a man and a woman is better lit, and appears to show the two of them contemplating twin suns!

Still, I like it.

"The Lord of the Rings is a monarchal, retrograde look at the obsession of aristocracy in forcing the yeomanry into doing their bidding. It is the story of rich people bickering over jewelry while the loyal, misguided servant follows his aristocratic master around, willing to toss aside his whole life on the whims of a trash run that could easily have been accomplished by natural flight from the might eagle. Samwise's journey is a tragic one, one where he must restrain his own individuality in favor of the desires and power games of a literal angel of the Spaghetti Monster in the Sky as he manipulates a lower noble, Frodo, into his fight with another fallen angel from the Spaghetti Monster in the Sky. Also, Sam and Frodo definitely bone."

121 Prince Andrew is the most obvious target for arrest from the Epstein files.

But it will be interesting if it stops there because one can slightly modify the "there were no Epstein clients" argument to say well, outside of Jeffrey, Ghislane, and Andrew.

But...that seems a weird addition. I get Ghislane because she was a sex partner for Epstein himself but if he was hooking up one of his associates with underage sex then the odds he was hooking many of them up are very very high.

God has a discussion with the Son of God about what's going to happen with Adam in Book 3.

Making it rather explicit that the Son of God and God are separate beings, a conscious rejection of the Trinity.

I imagine Tolkien had to read Paradise Lost at least in prep for his college work, so he was definitely exposed to it. However, the theology of it probably rubbed him real wrong which stands in contrast to his Norse legends that he loved so much which just have a completely different theology.

Along these lines in the Epstein emails there are a lot of people doing favors for and asking favors from Epstein. I suspect if motivated Bondi and state AGs could make a fair number of arrests for simple corruption and non-sexual misconduct if they want to...though this would cause a media reaction of "you can't arrest people for that, everyone does it!" sort of as we found out with mortgage fraud and our elites.

Do read the rest. D+3 is effectively an even environment. With the population imbalances and gerrymandering, Democrats need at least a D+3 to have a shot at winning the House. A shot. If the VRA is curtailed and a handful of Southern states redraw their maps even partially before November, it goes up to at least D+4. After 2026, when more states do the redraw, it's probably D+6.

And Senate races drive up turnout in the states that have them to presidential levels, making them more reflective of underlying PVI rather than subject to national swings in turnout differentials endemic to midterm elections.

Essentially, D+3 9 months out, when polls have this tendency of trending GOP in the final month, is really bad.

But, polls aren't reality. We'll see.

Two words:

Differential turnout.

Midterms just tend to benefit the party out of power. 90% of all turnout is self-starting behavior. The final 10% is influenced by GOTV efforts.

But, I've always suspected that 2026 wouldn't be that normal because there are background issues being addressed that have been allowed to metastasize over the past 15 years or so. Things like inflated voter rolls (DOJ lawsuits ongoing from the Civil Rights division to address that) in particular. Fed grant money being a major Dem fundraising tool is another.

Like I said, there are also laws against sex with a minor even if that minor is above the age of consent. You got me to google it and Britain ALSO has "corrupting a minor" laws that ban, for example, "to make arrangements to meet a child (under 1 with the intention of sexually abusing them,"

Now how well are those laws enforced? No idea. But he all but admitted to doing this.

It is somewhat entertaining that the stupid Epstein scare of him running a pedo sex ring that includes every cultural, government, and financial figure on the planet is really just uncovering rather bland corruption that probably happens everywhere.

That Epstein was turned into such a boogeyman is bringing some minor bits of justice to the world of corruption we call geopolitics is a salve to some degree.

265 Nice thing about Pres. Trump is any help won’t be without some sort of reckoning.

Does DC have any “Global Warming” strategies on their water works website? Re-chargeable snowplows? Are they discussing their Vision for Fine-Tuning the Weather 100 Years From Now? Green House Gas Reduction & Sequestration?

All these incompetent grifters sure can talk the talk but they can’t even pickup the garbage.

268 Two Men Contemplating the Moon
Caspar David Friedrich

Very nice as I also like odd, Halloween-like art.

Wikipedia, in part, These German Romantic landscape paintings feature two figures in a dark forest silhouetted by a pastel sky. The works' dark foregrounds and lighter backgrounds create a sharp contrast. The sky suggests that there is a solar eclipse occurring. A dead, uprooted tree's dark roots and branches contrast with the sky. The jagged branches and stark contrasts seem to create a threatening environment for the figures, and are reminiscent of the imposing Gothic style seen initially in the medieval era, but revived in the Romantic era. The same can be said of the dark, shadowy trees and rocks surrounding the couple. The figures are dressed in dark colors and stiff, somewhat formal garments, which signify their higher class. The works emphasize spirituality in nature and the presence of the sublime, which are major themes of Friedrich.

Also Wikipedia, Friedrich "was a prolific artist who produced more than 500 attributed works.[92] In line with the Romantic ideals of his time, he intended his paintings to function as pure aesthetic statements..."

Would hang it. 👍

Maybe the DC government ought to look into requiring decision makes to have some technical competency.

294 Saw the other day, some islhamic group has put a hit out on Tommy Robinson. The British police contacted him and told him there was some islhamic publication that declared him a target, but he's not allowed to view the publication as he would be arrested. They also told him he wasn't allowed to carry any sort of weapon to protect himself in public. Were he in his home, there are various things that could be used for protection, just not when he's in public.

He's since fled the country and is working to get his family out.
