Saturday Night Club ONT - February 21, 2026 [2 D's]

Ingredients
2 oz vanilla bean infused bourbon
0.5 oz fresh lemon juice
2 apricots sliced into chunks, pits removed
0.5 oz brown sugar simple syrup directions in post
pinch ground cinnamon
cinnamon stick garnish
ice Method
Add bourbon, lemon, syrup and apricots to a shaker.
Muddle apricots into liquid.
Add cinnamon and ice.
Cover and shake well for 45 seconds.
Strain into a fresh glass with ice and garnish with cinnamon stick.
Working with only pixels and basic geometry, the only angles are 45 degrees (one over, one down) and 26.6 (one over, two down). When you try to build the cursor properly, you'll find that you need half of a 45 degree angle, or 22.5, but since you can't do that, I think they picked the 26.6 angle as closest. Long story short, it's a compromise brought about by the limited number of angles you can actually construct on a pixel grid! If you were to place the tip on the same line as the 26.6 degree stem, the stem would not be midway between the lower corners of the arrowhead, it would be closer to the right side. Thus, it seems that it was shifted left to make that area more symmetrical because that error was less obvious.Source: davepl1968 on X

I know this to be true as I had duty at the door he used to exit and enter.

When my wife and I were married in our mid-20's. She had a large family, large enough that at holidays, she and I and her brother and her cousin were seated at a 'kids' table as we were the youngest.
What got my goat (not really) was her older sister and older sister's 10 yo daughter ate with the adults...LOL!

In my parish our pews still feature them. They don't get used much now except to hold the Sunday bulletin when the pews get crowded.
And thankfully no one has gone back to the handshake silliness post-COVID. I stopped that jazz years ago by holding my giant missal in my hands. It deters even the most adamant.

There is a supposedly very traditional Catholic church in the downtown area of my town - even had Latin mass. if I go back it might be there or the church connected to the school my kids went to.
I do kind of miss it and now that I'm working anymore I have a little more time for the social aspect...

My previous church encouraged us to "greet each other" after the last worship song and just before the announcements. The nature of the greeting was left up to the greetor and greetee. My current church does not do any kind pf greeting, and I kind of miss it...

I hadn't been to church for a very long time, when a friend suggested we go one Sunday, to some non-denominational place. OK...
There was a guy who gave a nice 'talk' but it wasn't a sermon. And then, people got up there with instruments and began to play-- they had a big screen behind them with lyrics for the sing-along.
And then the "priest" came out and talked (again, not a sermon and no mention of scripture) and there was happy clappy time. Ugh!
The whole thing left me feeling more empty than before and I haven't been back.

Now up to 7 or 8 stoplights. Wendy's moved closer to the southern edge of town, there's a Filthiberto's in their old spot. Southernmost Circle K was redone a few years ago, it's much bigger now. Sawmill closed down decades ago, there's now a strip mall with a movie theater in it's place.
Oh, and I'm here, so you know the town has definitely entered a state of decline.

I suppose a lot of that is influenced by where you grew up. Growing up in New England when I did hockey was huge. And then there was a bunch of college kids taking down the Soviets at a time when the country needed a win.

When I was a kid (and Old Papa was a Deacon) the Presbyterian church had 400-450 on a good Sunday. The older children had to stand along the wall to make room.
I passed the collection plate, for the orphans and those in prison.
But the Presbys and the rest decided to get political.
Maybe 20 old folks now on a Sunday.
I don't think lesbian clergy really helps the orphans or prisoners much.

My line of thinking: make dummy spring out of mild steel strip, maybe autobody steel. Duplicate the over-long spring in length and curvature. Trim off "straight" end until it just fits the space. OK. that's the upper limit for length for the new spring. Trim the new spring to that, plus say .030, and go from there.

When I lived in the TL, surprisingly not much human scat - lotta dog scat and the occasional dead/dying human. That said, I stayed outta the areas where there were a lot of humans sleeping on the streets, like GG ave east of Leavenworth (and on Leavenworth). Hyde between Eddy and Civic Center wasn't too bad b/c 3 lanes going south to the freeway and fairly well lit. Leavenworth, one block east, going north, gettin' scary, and farther east and north, yikes. One thing the Honduran drug dealers did was keep their turf quiet. They didn't want trouble so if you were worried about safety, walk where they were. Once you made it clear you didn't need anything, they ignored you.

My usual experience with Payson is passing through 260 to 87 on the way to PHX if I'm going to Scottsdale or the airport or the northern area, 60 if I'm headed to Tempe or Mesa. The number of golf courses here always amazes me, given the water situation in AZ. The PGA should work with artificial turf manufacturers to produce fairway and rough products, leave the greens real. When they start rationing water to households, the great unwashed will be at the golf courses.with pitchforks and torches.

Yeah. 99% of calls over the last 6 months have been pure sh!t scams. I started *migrating* a year ago, but hubby has so many doctors and clinics and then there's the insurance stuff and then my stuff.. ugh.
Lately, the spoofs have mostly been from unused numbers: only a city shows as a "name" and they've been in-state area codes.
The rest are fake medical crap. So I'm wary. But! They also don't usually come more than once from the same number.

There's a large venue near us, and when it had an activity, cell service went to hell. Thousands of people with their cells constantly pinging the *one* tower nearby.
I worried that a cell call wouldn't go through if we had an emergency! So kept the landline.

I say that because a few years ago we had an old sidecar bike at the shop. I had ran out for something, and meanwhile one of our friends shows up, actually the dude I got my house from, and he wants to go in the side car. The shop dude says yeah ok, and they head out, and wtf is the passenger wearing? A black spiked novelty helmet that we got hanging around in the shop. Now I didn't know any of this. I came down the street almost at the shop and see this side car bike tearing down the street with those 2 chuckleheads. I saw the big epic beard on the driver and the spiked helmet on the passenger and I knew right away. I'm sure alcohol was involved. lol

Uh, we did that, kind of. One of the funeral homes had a wicked black trike that they would tow a replica of the abe lincoln hearse car thing. The one with the glass sides. We worked on the trike for them. It was cool, it had the old coach lights on it and was done really nice. Well, we have a skeleton dressed as an undertaker hanging in the back, its a halloween thing. It had one of those abe lincoln hats. We sat him on the trike. It was hysterical. I got pictures of it. I texted it to a friend and said "customer wanted to wait for his bike, but we were a little backed up" lol
