In fact many many illegals detained have been released through habeas actions by inferior courts. "Immigrants" are not involved in any way here, contra the absurd propaganda, er, "reporting". Illegal aliens are not immigrants, and most never will be. The entire judiciary emphatically including SCOTUS is lawless here, even violating their own made-up rules, as well outrageously ignoring express limits of jurisdiction established in actual law. "Activist judge" is most the most idiotic meaningless terms in current use. No, Trump's "mandate" has nothing to do with ENFORCING THE LAW. Such is not a matter of election margins or campaign promises. "Can't anybody here play this game?". Carry on. Posted by: rhomboid at February 11, 2026 07:14 PM (U/Byj) 7

Getting ready to do my first PCB CAD design for outside fabbing. Then I thought "why learn CAD when what you really want is a finished PCB?" So I described it to Grok, and even though it cannot yet spit out the Gerber files itself, it did feed me step by step all the crap I have to enter into KiCAD. How to solve problems? Plato: "Use dialectic, analysis." Aristotle: "Use syllogism, synthesis." 2026: "Just let Grok do it." It's a genuine 'paradigm shift!' Somebody moved my cheese. It makes some sense, but I think the guy is a little optimistic on capabilities and speed of implementation. I could be wrong, but outside of large corporations/governments, etc., I don't see a big takeover by AI for awhile longer. For some small businesses it may be helpful for certain tasks, but for most service industries only robots may be able to replace us in the future. Outside of dealing with AI on the phone, I have zero familiarity with it. I can't make a judgment on his statements about the speed of improvements and their depth of abilities. If there is any accuracy to his analysis then I think the concern should extend beyond the employment world. There are no circuit breakers in place. It might be too late to implement them. I can see where it will be very useful within certain segments of businesses. It sure isn't the be all and the end all for everything but, for many areas of knowledge, it will push out a large proportion of humans working in that area. I have not yet intentionally used any AI tool. I have no idea what AI stuff is used by my doctors, auto mechanic, airline flight search sites, and so on. I don't write anything but emails and text messages. When I need any software tool, AI or not, other than spell check for those, I'll know it's time for me to check into a full-care old folks home.
My search engine has given me an "AI Recommendation" at top of the search results page for a couple years. I had high hopes at first it would save me time with a good report most of the time. I quickly learned not to use the offered info without checking its listed sources. It would take too long to list why I don't automatically trust the AI's answer. In my opinion, for the foreseeable future, 'general' AI engines will all be biased, according to its human-coded algorithms and human-coded allowable information sources. That's the wrong answer. Posted by: gp at February 11, 2026 08:45 PM (N8ZBc) I have found outside of severely limited database systems, AI produces average and standard results, lacking any real imagination in the solutions. It is like giving a manual to a new-hire and letting them fill in the blanks in a task. Most of the work is standard, and far too much is misunderstood or misapplied. The difference between a new-hire and an AI is that the new-hire will learn from mistakes. As I understood it, this is not an entry level job of monitoring AI for correct answers for simple tasks. So, far from increasing productivity, it cost me time and got me no closer to what was needed.
