Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | The Morning Report — 2/9/26![]() Whoever posted a video on President Trump’s social media containing a racist animation of the Obamas as apes committed an own goal that overshadowed what otherwise would have been a great week for the administration. It shouldn’t have needed the GOP’s only black senator, Tim Scott, to decry the clip as racist for the post to be deleted and an apology issued by the White House. The one-minute video reposted late Thursday night on Trump’s Truth Social account was about voter fraud in the 2020 election, one of the president’s favorite subjects. At the end, the video flashed for a split second to a clip of the Obamas from an old “Lion King” meme depicting Democrats as animals, and Trump as a lion. It was obviously a mistake. Trump says he never watched the video through to the end, and the White House says a “staffer erroneously made the post.” It certainly doesn’t warrant the breathless media coverage it’s received all weekend. . . . . . The storm in a teacup helps the resistance media maintain the fiction that Republicans, especially the MAGA variety, are irredeemably racist, while Democrats are paragons of virtue when it comes to defending minorities. . . The truth is the very opposite. You can see the inherent racism — or is it classism — on the Democrat side most acutely in their opposition to voter ID in the SAVE America Act, which is up for a vote in the House this week. The Trump-backed legislation will require proof of citizenship to register to vote and a photo ID to cast a ballot. The real reason Democrats foment racial division is as a divide-and-conquer strategy to seize political power — and keep it forever. And speaking of Guerrillas in our midst, and seizing political power and keeping it forever. Meh, who needs elections since as Quintessential Democrat extraordinaire Mao Tse Tung once proclaimed . . . "Political Power Grows Out of the Barrel of a Gun." Or perhaps a molotov cocktail or the gas pedal of an SUV. . . On Saturday, the Democrat Socialists of America celebrated hitting 100,000 members. Almost on cue, their footprint in organizing anti-ICE so-called “protests” continues to grow. But these are not protests. They are coordinated obstruction campaigns modeled on the playbook of revolutionary insurgency inspired by violent revolutions. That much is clear from the latest reporting in The California Post, documenting how militant far-left activists from the Golden State are advising radicals in New York on the latest tactics for sabotaging federal immigration operations. The objective isn’t dissent. It’s obstruction. So okay, the DSA hit 100,000. Big deal. How many people are members of the NRA and how many of those do you suppose belong to or sympathize with the DSA? I would say that is a number at or below Zero. Now take Mao's observation and consider the implications if every NRA member simultaneously acted on it. Can you say "Kaboom?" The very thought of it warms the cockles of my heart, irrespective of whether or not it ever comes to pass. And speaking of Mao and Minnesota . . . “Anti-ICE protests in Minnesota may appear to be ‘grassroots’ efforts organized by concerned citizens, but they’re really funded with megadonor money — some coming from China,” the New York Post reported.Have a great day. And lastly, a quick shout-out and a huge thank you for your continued support in hitting our tip jar. It truly is appreciated more than you can know.

And China’s involvement is a major issue. It’s been failing in the Western Hemisphere of late...
Comparing two totally different things with China's involvement in Western politics. I submit that the 535 "elected" politicians in the House and Senate are influenced far more by China than they are by Trump. That also is largely true for the establishment military "leadership" that hasn't been yeeted out by Hegseth. Dittos for the State Department, probably the most treacherous and hostile, Anti-American agency outside of the IRS. I will also submit, that China has far more power to determine the global future (provided determining the future involves hundreds of millions of deaths and economic collapse) than all of the West combined; center of all of this is Taiwan a/o Belt & Road. Unfortunately, nearly all of our "elected" leaders don't know what time it is, and their fecklessness and dereliction of duty exists to service their vanity and lusts. The diversity racists always point to demographic “representation” as a marker of a society’s bigotry; if any demographic is not as fully represented on, say, an Olympic team as it is in the general population, the explanation must be systemic racism.

++++ Assume the DSA gets invaded by a million non-Leftists of some kind with overwhelming voting majority. Those people - or the organizations for which the DSA infilitration is a proxy - could take control of the DSA under its rules. Okay, cool. But what would it gain? The idea of internal subversion depends on institutional value in the first place, and institutional trust. Infiltrate, subvert, wear it as a skin suit while pushing it in the opposite direction. But the Left cares not about its institutions. It sheds them like a snake shedding its skin. If the DSA were to be subverted, there would simply be a schism. The power center would split off, form a new party by running a CTRL+C/CTRL+V from the DSA charter and manual before the subversion, and take the funding sources with them. Their own strategy will fail against them, because they are dishonest and don't care about their own institutions. They understand that the institution is merely window dressing. A different strategy is needed. I don't know what that would be. Posted by: Joe Mannix (Not a cop!) at February 09, 2026 07:44 AM (ojr4c) 62

If I do, "bunker busters" aren't particularly high tech, they're just really really big. The charge triggering might be tricky, but also probably something any weapons research group could handle. The problem with those bombs is that they're really big, really heavy, require serious heavy industry to produce and one hell of a delivery vehicle. The bigger problems are probably logistical, not engineering. But if the *dud* could be fixed, maybe they could find a way to drop it on someone. Supposedly we dropped a bunker buster on Iran and it was a dud. So can they reverse engineer it and/or use it?
Sadly, (or thankfully if you are TuCa), that probably describes the vast majority of the West's nuclear arsenal. Lets be honest here, they stopped actually testing weapons and used the tools of Climate Change (computer models tweeked to get the desired results) and there is exactly zero chance that any government will be asking for a refund on non-functioning nukes in the event that the situation warrants their use. The Iranian government said that. Last June, the Iranian government said that they had shot down an F-35, and distributed a “photo” of it in the ground. Posted by: r hennigantx at February 09, 2026 08:23 AM (gbOdA) ++++ The fake studies showed that DEI increased share price, yes, but the *real* juice behind it was the investment banks. If you wanted access to capital without penalty rates, you did the DEI thing. Blackrock, Goldman Sachs, State Street, etc. would require DEI shit and the people they put on your boards of directors would enforce it. Stock prices were secondary, but were part of the PR. The Propaganda Press, mainly the WSJ, is going after Tulsi Gabbard, reporting on what sounds like not much of a whistleblower complaint. But, since it is classified, they can't tell us what it is, but the WSJ assures everyone it is not good.
--- Tulsi and everyone else who would know have explicitly and completely laid out how it is a lie. This is the "Russian Collusion" scam times 1,000--the deep state is at DEFCON 1 over getting rid of her. Two foreign idiots were gossiping about someone in the Trump admin. Two different Inspector Generals found the allegations not credible. But the "whistleblower" maliciously mixed in highly-classified info into the "complaint." Which automatically triggers classification and that it be kept in the IG's safe. But now they can all run to the press and Dems with breathless bombshells--knowing damned good and well that everyone they are accusing cannot legally disclose what all the complaint says. They spin as "someone" in the Trump admin was caught calling a spy and Tulsi covered it up. Posted by: People's Hippo Voice at February 09, 2026 08:30 AM (HXT0k) 193

>> ‘Democracy’ Means Newspapers Aren’t Allowed to Fire Democrats
Today’s “journalists” intuition is dogshit. That’s because their stories are driven by a raging pathos, fed by a liberal worldview. It’s a psychosis that doesn’t permit introspection, factual exploration or even compassion. It’s singularly focused, driven and desperately in pursuit of proving what’s easily shown as mendacity, as truth. All to salve their egos, and those of their friends who have long left any semblance of normalcy, for the cold comfort of a demonstrably failed ideology. If you’ve ever dealt with addicts, you’ll recognize all the familiar signs in this group- deny, deflect, lie, appease, only to fall back into the same destructive habit head first. They never pump the brakes or realize the wall they’re about to hit has been visible to everyone else for a long time. In all that time your pleadings for a rational, sane and provably truthful approach have not only gone unanswered, but they’ve been used to attack you in the most heinous, untruthful ways, then in the ultimate act of arrogance, they flip you the bird. It’s hard to have an ounce of empathy for any of them. They haven’t learned a thing. Posted by: Marcus T at February 09, 2026 08:40 AM (04KGT) 229

They wouldn't even permit the guy work release. I'm surprised they let him out after 2 years. The prosecutor pushed for and got the maximum sentence because he wanted to make an example of someone famous for the heinous crime of owning a gun.

Trump Rages at Bad Bunny—and Accidentally Exposes a Big MAGA Weakness: MAGA’s hatred of the Super Bowl halftime performer reflects a hubris about what parts of the culture are “theirs.” But those assumptions are proving more wrong every day.
MAGA has yet to make peace with one simple fact: they can win all the elections they want, they can appoint all the regressive theocratic judges all they want, they can gerrymander and cheat their way to power all they want, but popular media will never, ever embrace their ass-backwards culture and values. Bring American isn’t about being a particular, race, ethnicity, or a land. It is fundamentally an idea. An idea that is not the property of men like Miller, Vance and Bannon. America belongs to all of us, including the naturalized Haitian lesbian, nonbinary Somali, and Afghan or Central American refugee who fled violence to bring their children to a place that promised and protects those ideas. We cannot and will not let people like Miller and Vance decide who is an American. We defeated this idea 160 years ago and it will lose again in November, if we care to defend it. There is precedent for overturning elections, at least at the state level. In 1000 Mile Summer Colin Fletcher discovered a tale about 19th century Nevada, I think it was. We've not only "made peace" with that fact, it's become the butt of the joke. Anything in popular media - from the press to music to movies to TV shows - is so predictable that non-Leftists easily outline the entire thing before it runs and then laugh about it when they tally up the score.

All seemed useless, or selling whatever the product or service is. If a TV ad does not often visually display the product or product benefits, it's a lousy ad. Ads on TVs that are typically muted, in bars, doctor's waiting rooms, and so on, are as useful at selling a product as the visuals are interesting and informative. Off topic but hilarious. My wife sent me this review of a pattern she is thinking about knitting:
No whining because of the fingers. We all know that fingers are the issue with gloves, because until you get to the fingers a glove is just an unfinished mitten. Does anybody whine about mittens? No. Mittens are safe. Mittens are cute. Safe and cute. "Mittens" rhymes with "kittens" for a reason.* So what exactly is the problem with fingers? There are only four of them, if the usual configuration is observed. Is four a frightening number? Why should it be? Many lovely things come in fours. Beatles, for one. Also seasons, elements, and points on a compass rose. Also Horsemen of the Apocalypse; but let us set them aside for the moment. Posted by: NR Pax at February 09, 2026 08:58 AM (svLOV) 318

Do leftists truly not know any conservatives that are decent people?
——- My experience is that, as a rule, they live in a bubble. So they have an elaborate caricature in their mind of what a conservative is like. But it’s “conservatives” built up as strawman piñata to be knocked around on TV, or the rareified air of academe. So when they find a conservative in the wild, they have this long list of things they think they know, and all the sins fall on you. I’ve had great satisfaction dealing with their preconceptions. Because they don’t know me, or what ai believe. They also tend to believe rural folk are uniformly knuckle dragging ignorant hick rubes, that’s also an enjoyable stereotype to pierce. I was always uniformly light years ahead in being informed with the facts, history, and inconvenient truths. They never had a chance. That’s why they are going straight to violence and anarchy, incidentally. They can’t persuade anyone with their lunatic fairy tales. They have to force their delusions at gunpoint. I didn't watch anything other than repeats of shows I've watched 100 times.
My impressions from reading comments online: The SB was the worst game ever. Seattle's defense was really good and NE's didn't do bad. Drake Maye basically threw the game as he saved his worst performance ever for the biggest game of his career. NE looked as unprepared for the game as any team ever to make the SB. Did not watch the Super Bowl and stopped caring years ago, one reason being the shitshow the halftime has become. Last night show was a especially insulting as is was specifically meant to appeal to Hispanics, which are a very small part of the NFL overwhelmingly white and black fan. For the most part, they are soccer fans, especially the newcomers and their offspring. I doubt this will attract many new fans but that won't stop the NFL form giving the middle finger to people like me.

That's when Nixon warned the prosecutors not to open "that can of worms," adding, "There is even more, because [Radford] not only ——"
Ruth, the lead prosecutor, interjected: "We are not opening it up." "Yeoman Radford was not only there," the ex-president persisted, "but he was a direct channel to the Joint Chiefs of Staff." There it was, finally — the secret Nixon had sought to keep under wraps: It was not the far left that most actively sought to sabotage the Nixon-Kissinger foreign policy but the hard right, not lowly pencil-pushers in the civil service but the most senior commanders at the Pentagon. The prosecutors had heard enough. They did not want Nixon to elaborate. Jay Horowitz, the last questioner, cut in. "Sir, if I might take us back now to ——" Nixon would not be deterred. "This indicates to the members of the grand jury, if I might address them for a moment, why it is that" the Radford project "had to be top secret." He added: "Particularly, I didn't want the Joint Chiefs of Staff involved." Posted by: SMOD at February 09, 2026 09:25 AM (RHGPo) 427
I never thought much about Lindsey Vonn but I’ll admit… I read that recently (a year ago?) she had a partial knee replacement in her right knee… it took away all pain and her knee felt so good she decided to come back. Then sadly tore the ACL in her other (left) knee. I have a partial knee replacement and it’s allowed me to continue my favorite activity ( distance running)… so I felt some comeraderie…. Recovery from a partial knee replacement to athletic activity is not easy then the other knee gave way. Brutal

I can remember no time where there has never been the luxury for conservatives say, "My bad," and withdraw content and that content will go away peacefully. None. (Example: "Read my lips: No new taxes." George HW Bush at the 1988 Republican National Convention. And it eventually ruined his 1992 reelection campaign after a fairly decent 1st administration.) Further, possibly seeing into future, political goals, "the Obama administration appointed several psychiatrists and mental health experts to key advisory positions, boards, and commissions, rather than employing a single, dedicated White House psychiatrist in a clinical capacity." A1 Overview.
>The bmj dot com: News 'Psychiatrists urge Obama to request neuropsychiatric review of Trump,' Published Published 19 December 2016 --- Again, it has been obvious from the very start of the 2nd Trump administration that every single man and woman serving within are targets, for now especially JD Vance, Scott Bessent, Kristi Noem, Pam Bondi, Pete Hegseth, Russ Vought, and Greg Bonvino. None can remain politically standing for a possible Vance/Rubio administration. There have also been key departures from the Second Administration (2025–2026) and a number of nominee withdraws. (Let's remember Dan Bongino, 20th Deputy Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, who served March 17, 2025 – January 3, 2026 and then ran off again to rejoin media.) There is now talk that if Starmer can be booted, why can't Trump be fired? Look at the timing, it's not a joke imho.
