And in another "God showed me something good" episode, the other day I went to a short memorial service for people who had died during the past year and who were residents at the nursing home. One of them had attended at the church I serve and , and two came to the worship services at the nursing home. They had white roses in little vases by pictures of each person and activities coordinator read a couple of sweet poems.. The chaplain read the passage from Ecclesiastes about their being a time for everything. I am glad they have someone who travels around to be comfort to the people who don't have a priest or pastor.
Anyway, as I was getting ready to leave , someone put a bag on a chair. ( I guess it was a knapsack carrying their stuff) and it said " Grace" ( I guess that's the name of a nursing care company) When I left to get something at the grocery store there was a car with a bumper sticker and it said, "Grace happens" It was a grace filled day. Thanks, Lord. Posted by: FenelonSpoke at February 07, 2026 04:47 AM (Nx5jP) 25

On the ONT, I enjoyed ChristyBlinky's story of her sojourn in Paris, including her "Je suis desole." I know little French, but I can read that. It always amused me, once I was old enough to get it, that James Bond uses "Do not derange yourself" to a train porter in Paris -- Fleming's method of showing he was speaking French at the time. "Derange" in French, I believe, = "disturb." You can see where we got the English verb, since we use "deranged" and "disturb" to describe the mentally ill.

I did catch some of Voice of Terror a while back, and was pleased how they used the last scene of "His Last Bow" as the end of that one: ---- Sherlock Holmes: There's an east wind coming, Watson. Doctor Watson: No, I don't think so. Looks like another warm day. Holmes: Good old Watson. The one fixed point in a changing age. There's an east wind coming all the same. Such a wind as never blew on England yet. It will be cold and bitter, Watson. And a good many of us may wither before its blast.
