Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | An Investigation Into Ilhan Omar's Sudden Fortune and Foreign Dealings Was Opened -- Under the Biden AdministrationAnd when the Corruption Hawks of the Biden Administration think that you're grifting money from foreign interests, you're shadier than a $400,000 Hunter Biden "watercolor." The Justice Department under the Biden administration opened an investigation into Representative Ilhan Omar, Democrat of Minnesota, in 2024 to scrutinize her finances, campaign spending and interactions with a foreign citizen, according to people with knowledge of the matter. The inquiry, initiated by the U.S. attorney's office in Washington and the department's public integrity unit in June of that year, appears to have stalled for lack of evidence, according to one of the people who requested anonymity to discuss internal department matters.Uh-huh.
Adam HousleyThe whole business is accused of being a, get this, fraudulent scheme. U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar's husband accused of swindling investor in their California wineryI guess that's why it's a "virtual winery." They literally just took grapes given to them by a "client" and put them into barrels. And somehow this turned into a $40 million business in a year. They promised if they didn't pay Mohd the full $900,000 on time, they would tack on 10% monthly interest on any outstanding balance, according to the contract shared with the Minnesota Reformer. The offer might have seemed suspicious if not for the person making it: Tim Mynett, a well-connected political consultant and husband to U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar, whom he married in 2020. Mynett came recommended by Mohd's attorney, Faisal Gill, a former Democratic operative himself who knew Mynett from his days working on Keith Ellison's congressional campaigns. Mynett and Gill had been friends since. Omar endorsed Gill in his unsuccessful bid for L.A. County Attorney, and Gill donated $1,000 to Omar's campaign in 2021. "I trusted Tim," Gill said in an interview. "If it was not for Tim, the deal would have never happened." Mohd wired the $300,000 to Mynett and his long-time business partner Will Hailer, with whom he founded a political consultancy called E Street Group in 2018. But 18 months came and went without Mohd receiving the 200% return he was promised from the winery, eStCru. Mynett and Hailer only returned Mohd's $300,000 -- about a month late -- according to a lawsuit Gill filed on behalf of Mohd in California last fall seeking at least $780,000. The complaint, which has not been previously reported, claims the pair "fraudulently misrepresented ... that estCru, LLC was a legitimate company." Hailer and Mynett deny they defrauded Mohd. Rather, they say they simply struggled to build a successful business in a challenging industry during the COVID-19 pandemic. "ESTCRU LLC like many wineries is living invoice to invoice, sale to sale to stay afloat given the economic conditions of the industry," Hailer wrote in response to a list of questions from the Reformer. Hailer declined requests for an interview on the phone. The winery's struggling finances represent a significant change in fortune for Mynett and Hailer since Omar announced she would no longer use their firm E Street Group on her campaigns after paying them around $3 million in the 2020 election. Still, Hailer defended the potential for large returns in the wine business, writing, "If any investor put $X dollars in to allow the company to purchase grapes and we turned those grapes into bottles of wine that we sold you would see a 3 or 4x return."This sounds like a scam. Actual wineries struggle to make this much of a return. Heck, they struggle to save into business. So this "business's" big innovation is to just not bother growing the grapes yourself? It's a "virtual winery." I don't know what that means. I would guess it means he just buys other people's wines and puts it into his own bottles, maybe?
++++ I doubt it. That would require *some* infrastructure. Bottles and filling equipment and distribution and whatnot. I bet it's a "white label" operation. Some real wine outfit - purely because of their scale and tremendous amount of business at all levels globally, I would make a wild guess that it's Gallo - just slaps their label on it and drops it into distribution at the client's direction, or uses their own distribution for a bigger cut. Just like lots of "store brand" goods. The store specifies the formulation or picks from the menu, and the manufacturer puts their label on it and sends it out the door. So after doing a quick dive. This was a virtual winery with basically one wine that nobody in wine country had ever heard of. There is absolutely zero chance the valuation on this went from $20,000 to $ 5 million in one year.
++++ Easily could have. It's the "valuation," not the value. How was the valuation determined? All it would take is one Party-connected "investor" throwing a million bucks at the Party Preference in exchange for 20% of the "business" (which makes it not a donation subject to reporting, just a bum investment - oh whoops, whoopsie, this one didn't pan out) to arrive at a $5 million "valuation." No galleries or glam mags insisting that he grant them an exclusive to cover his nouveau lifestyle and artistic niche. No agents clamoring for him to tour with his art. And on the financial side, no concern or notice about the unique circumstance of getting historic payouts for his initial tranche of content and then not even a cent once his dad got excommunicated during the reelection campaign. Possibly already covered, but there are many different kinds of "winery" business. Usually off-label or alternative label wines from a particular actual winery will simply be bottled and labeled differently. Trader Joe's has several wineries that provide the juice on which TJ's puts its various labels, as an example.
And sourcing grapes off-estate is very common. So those two things don't in themselves raise the least suspicion. The $ numbers obviously do. A valuation like that would need to rest on a hefty revenue number and probably even medium-term contracts, which I believe are completely absent. Housley's in the wine business himself for years so he can speak authoritatively about all this off the cuff. Posted by: rhomboid at January 27, 2026 06:01 PM (U/Byj) 69

They have to launder that stolen US taxpayer money somehow. I remember drug dealers buying up tons of gift cards with cash at the gas stations all over our town next to the casino. They would take those cards to the casino and run them through the cash machine and get $100 bills. You knew when they were in the casino because there were stacks of discarded gift cards in the trash can next to the atm's. Once they had pockets full of $$$ they would go and "gamble" on table games putting $20-30,000 on the table to buy chips with. After a couple of bets they cash out and take the chips to the cash windows where they would get checks for the chips. They could take those checks and put them in the bank all perfectly legal. After a year or so the casino State police unit pretty much shut that avenue down. Posted by: Mister Scott (Formerly GWS) at January 27, 2026 06:12 PM (0N4FZ) 128

Ilyan might be physically attractive, but I remember one of my bosses. The interview was great! Hot young female boss! Woo hoo!
She was a demon. All of her physical attractiveness was gone once I started work. Every employee lived in fear of her. She slept her way to the top, everyone knew it, and she knew everyone knew it, and she wanted to wield what power she had, and she was a cruel, mean, nasty piece of work that would make most Karens say "that's too far!" Literally got fired by her twice. The first time my boss in another division had to intervene and force her to rehire me. The second time she'd run the company into the ground with a lot of help from Obama's regulations, and my entire division got let go. Posted by: Sam MacGee. at January 27, 2026 06:43 PM (/ZkOF) 259

Back in 1998-2000 we went to check out a new brewery in Kenwood (Napa)- a very large Krones bottling line/shop - probably 500+ bottles a minute. Everything was spanking new. It sat there idle. Bottling lines that size should be operating two shifts. We never saw the kettles and uni-tanks. It was connected to a well established winery.

Your typical Muzzie has no such goal and probably wouldn't be capable of performing it anyway. They're pathologically insecure about their sexual prowess. That's why they keep their women in harems, put bags over their heads, and so on... to make sure they don't meet any men who might be capable of pleasing a woman. In the extreme, they use surgery to make sure she can't possibly be pleased by anyone. It is a sick, sick culture and it needs to be eradicated from the face of the earth.
