Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Former Conservative Home Secretary Suella Braverman Defects to Reform, Denounces UK Tories as TraitorsSuella Braverman had been Secretary of the Home Office (one of the top positions in government) under former PM Rishi Sunak. She was kicked out of the office for speaking two truths the conservative party had declared heretical: 1, that unlimited third world migration constitutes an "invasion," and 2, that it is evident that the police punish native Britons much more harshly than foreign invaders, and this constitutes "two-tier policing." So she's always been more #based than the average inbred paper-pusher in the "conservative" party. But she was loyal to the dying Conservative Party. Until now.Former Home Secretary Suella Braverman has accused the Conservatives of "betrayal" as she became the latest MP from the party to defect to Reform UK. She is the third sitting Tory MP to join Nigel Farage's party in the last eleven days, and takes Reform's tally of MPs to eight. At a press conference following her defection, Braverman said she had felt "politically homeless for the best part of two years" pointing to differences over areas including Brexit and immigration. Her defection comes hot on the heels of Robert Jenrick and Andrew Rosindell, who also left the Conservatives earlier this month. Responding to her defection, the Conservative Party said it was "always a matter of when, not if, Suella would defect".As you know, the dying establishment's main weapon is left's weapon of denunciation and defamation: I saw a Lotus Eaters video in which they predicted -- or put down as a prediction for a 2026 prediction Bingo game -- that the "conservatives" would wither away down to their most liberal members, at which point they would just merge with the Liberal Democrats. As the BBC points out above, that's all they are now anyway. Braverman denounced the remaining "conservatives" as cucks for the liberal globalist one-world maxi-state. Or "wets," as she called them. She now says the Conservatives are "too weak to save themselves, let alone the country". ... She was not offered a position in Kemi Badenoch's shadow cabinet, and became a vocal critic of the party's record in office on immigration, net zero and what she branded "woke" thinking. ... At a press conference alongside Farage, she dismissed her former party as dominated by "centrists" and "One Nation wets"."Wets" has a specific meaning in British politics. I guess we'd call them "RINOs." Google AI: In British political slang, "wets" referred to moderate members of the Conservative Party, particularly under Margaret Thatcher, who were seen as weak, unprincipled, or too willing to compromise on her strict monetarist and spending-cut policies, contrasting with her hardline "dries". The term, used pejoratively by Thatcher and her supporters, described those who opposed her tough economic medicine and favoured more consensus or less drastic reforms, like reducing government spending and challenging unions. Key Aspects of "Wets": Origin: Popularized by Margaret Thatcher in the late 1970s/early 1980s to criticize internal party dissent. Meaning: Lacking firmness, being effete, ineffectual, or weak in character and resolve. Policy Stance: Opposed to Thatcher's radical economic agenda, including spending cuts and confronting powerful unions. ... Contrast: Directly opposed to "dries," Thatcher's loyalists who fully embraced her free-market principles. The first video below is her full 18 minute speech. If that's too long, check out the clip from the press conference she gave after her defection. It's a lot punchier.

I'd have said that "wets" refers to politicians more concerned about the people who show up in boats than the ones whose families have been here for millennia. Posted by: I used to have a different nic at January 26, 2026 04:36 PM (ExV1e) 9

Braverman is not the most eloquent, which partly sounds like it's because she's parsing everything she says to minimize the damage to her own political future. Still, she's a lot braver than most of the UK's invertebrate "conservative" politicians, so two marks.
The movement from Conservatives to Reform reflects the dawning realization among Conservatives that their political viability is nil if they don't make the move. Posted by: Archimedes at January 26, 2026 04:37 PM (Riz8t) Posted by: banana B Dream at January 26, 2026 04:37 PM (3uBP9) 17

I read this early this morning. While Farage is no Rupert Lowe in terms of mass deportation, he'll get things going and stop the boats. He will no longer pay for the invasion the way Starmer does. Maybe He'd make Lowe Home Secretary and throw out the fake refugees. There are only 3 places in the world wher muslim men are "persecuted", and none of these soldiers of Allah are taking dinghies from Myanmar, China, or parts of India willing to throw them out.

In 2005, the Conservative Party reacted to its third consecutive loss in general elections by selecting David Cameron, the wettest of Tory wets, as its leader, and he proceeded to convert the Conservatives into New New Labour. Although the party was able to return to power, its abject inability to deliver conservative policies, other than reluctantly pursuing Brexit, has ultimately destroyed it.

Reform claiming legal and illegal migration was horrendously mismanaged, only to hire the former Tory Home Secretary and Immigration minister in the last two weeks? It's a bold strategy Cotton
Conservatives changing their name to Reform are just going to give us more of the last 15 years, which they blamed Labour for every election...apparently working enough for idiots to believe them. I said it a year ago, but here we go again. Vote Reform, get Tory. The right will succeed in turning us into a techno-feudal society within a generation. It's really common for people who get lost in the woods to be found near a trail but don't know it's there. 300 yards away from the bar in an active snowstorm might be far enough away the lights were invisible. Maybe she got turned around, tromped over her own footprints a few times, couldn't see anything, and panicked. You wouldn't even have to be very drunk for that to happen to most of us in a snowstorm. The Fed Slur doesn't follow. It's usually used as a personal attack. But why you expect an undercover Fed to be offended by being called an undercover Fed? So what if he's "outed", the worst part for him is the bother of replacing a 2 month old account. The only people such an accusation would sting are those who believe narcing on their own kind is reprehensible.
It also invites all the witch-hunters who need to virtue signal their "special ability" to detect "glowies" and I know from personal experience that they don't give a fck about friendly fire. Salem Witch trials were bad enough. Let's not repeat that just because someone wants to pretend the Feds are after her to establish victim cred so that she can sell more books. I'm a dunce when it comes to open carry but are you allowed to have the gun loaded ? That shows how dumb I am about these things
Posted by: It's me donna Yes. In a LOT of confrontations, you don't have the time to rack the slide and if you carry the revolver on an empty cylinder, you take a significant reduction in firepower. The issue is training. Almost all discharges are negligent, not accidental because people put their booger hooking fingers inside the trigger guard. What some are arguing from what I have seen is that the slide got racked in the confrontation and maybe some sort of slam fire occurred. Very rare but can happen. Once you had one shot, then the leos who were already keyed up shot the nurse to stop the attack. Semi autos can easily put a two or more bullets into someone in less than 2 seconds. Revolvers, too. Most people cannot react faster than in a couple of seconds to any input. Jerry Miculek, a competitive shooter shows how the maximum of how fast someone can be Miculek has held five officially sanctioned world records in revolver shooting and over 15 unsanctioned records, including: 1.00 second for 8 shots on a single target (1999). Worse, when they get it wrong and burn an innocent person at the stake, they don't admit to their mistake and correct the record. Feds or not, that type of person should not be entrusted with that kind of power.
