What's unfolding in Minneapolis right now isn't "protest." It's low-level insurgency infrastructure, built by people who've clearly studied the playbook.
Signal groups at 1,000-member cap per zone. Dedicated roles: mobile chasers, plate checkers logging vehicle data into shared databases, 24/7 dispatch nodes vectoring assets, SALUTE-style reporting (Size, Activity, Location, Unit, Time, Equipment) on suspected federal vehicles. Daily chat rotations and timed deletions to frustrate forensic recovery. Vetting processes for new joiners. Mutual aid from sympathetic locals (teachers providing cover, possible PD tip-offs on license plate lookups). Home-base coordination points. Rapid escalation from observation to physical obstruction--or worse.
This isn't spontaneous outrage. This is C2 (command and control) with redundancy, OPSEC hygiene, and task organization that would make a SF team sergeant nod in recognition. Replace "ICE agents" with "occupying coalition forces" and the structure maps almost 1:1 to early-stage urban cells we hunted in the mid-2000s.
The most sobering part? It's domestic. Funded, trained (somewhere), and directed by people who live in the same country they're trying to paralyze law enforcement in. I spent years training partner forces to dismantle exactly this kind of apparatus. Now pieces of it are standing up in American cities, enabled by elements of local government and civil society. That should keep every thinking American awake at night.
Not because I want escalation. But because history shows these things don't de-escalate on their own once the infrastructure exists and the cadre believe they're winning the information war.
We either recognize what we're actually looking at--or we pretend it's still just "activism" until the structures harden and spread.

But this is not "domestic." It *is* largely internal, but these people do not identify as and are not in reality a part of the US. These are, for all intents and purposes, foreign revolutionaries. No $hit. Some here have been saying this for weeks about the situation in minneapolis.

For the most part this stuff has been contained to that city which is a good thing IMO. That shows us that the support for violence is pretty much contained to that one city and the level of coordination has not been replicated in other major blue cities unlike what we experienced in Iraq and Afghanistan where the insurgency was spread out through the entire countries.

This can be contained but it is going to cost more and more lives which the liberals are happy to spend.

I'll say it again, President Trump declared Antifa as a domestic terrorist organization 5 MONTHS ago. I know investigations can take some time but I suspect it is trivially easy to investigate and identify the financiers as well as the control organization with the tools the FBI has at its disposal. And I'm sure there is significant overlap if not the exact same people managing the anti-ICE insurgency.

Depends on what the effect is.

It's about narrative creation, not about actually immediately changing policy.

It's about creating a sense of overwhelming force (mostly rhetorical and popular) that gets the other side to back down.

Understanding that it's like 50 people who are actually out in the streets making a mess is good framing because it shows that these are limited numbers.

The tactics are sophisticated, but the numbers using them are small. Easily squashed.

This isn't Minnesota standing up in defiance of ICE. This is some agitators using well-worn tactics. Crush them, and move on.

Their status was ambiguous. Lincoln referred to them as something like "states out of their proper relation to the Union," or something like that. But they did have to apply for readmission after the war, so they were kinda out of the Union during the war.

We don't know for sure what Lincoln would have done but the Northern Republicans were damn sure not going to leave the power structure in the South that caused the Civil War in place. So you got Reconstruction which eventually failed when federal troops pulled out. And the GOP was blamed along with their black and carpet bagger supporters for most of the Reconstruction miseries. This gave Dems a Solid South for 100 or more in some places after.

What is the worst that will realistically happen in 2027 if Democrats "win" the midterms?

First of all, any House win will be small. Like...15 seats or so. Gerrymandering after the 2020 census reduced the number of actually winnable seats to a handful. We're not getting wave elections for a while. Secondly, the Senate is not going Democrat. They'd have to beat Collins (not happening), win NC (50/50, but I'd lean against Cooper), retain GA (probable) and MI (probable), and then also win TX (nope). And even that would only get them 50/50, and Thune would retain the majority with Vance.

So...a bare majority in the House...a technical minority in the Senate.

Hearings time. And that's about it.

Seriously...the 2026 map makes the election not that important.

And ask Boehner how much midterms meant to stopping the imperial presidency.

Good luck trying to find someone who will buy it right now. None of the local guys want anything to do with silver or gold in the present market. Maybe one of the bigger coin dealers in the metroplex will buy for somewhere near spot.

I do know that APMEX the dealer I have bought from has set a $10,000 minimum buy level. If you ain't got $10,000 minimum in silver to sell them they aren't going to give you an offer. They aren't touching anything below that and they used to buy a few coins at a time.

If you want to talk Senate races, though...ask why Democrats walked out of 2018 with such...few wins.

Because Senate races drive up turnout to near presidential levels. So, a place like NC isn't going to be subject to "oh, Democrats really hate Trump", we'll get presidential level turnout, and there's a solid chance Cooper loses.

This is what goes into "2026 doesn't matter very much" because turnout will increase in key states with senate races to make sure that the Senate barely changes, if at all.

You need both. You need to explain to the public what you are doing and why. Bondi, nor do most AGs do not run the DoJ. It is run by the Deputies. The head AG only does top level policy decisions and for the most part ends up at the front PR type for what the underlings are doing.

If you have blame, Todd Blanchette is the day to day administrator of the DoJ and the Solicitor General is in charge of litigation before the appellate courts. Others like Harmeet Dhillon run specific DoJ divisions like the Civil Rights Division.

And local DAs (which the Dems have blocked in blue states via the outdate blue slip process that Grassley holds dear) and local district judges, are where the whole process of investigating, etc a particular district start. Without those appointed DAs, the careerists run those local offices which are mostly those of the left.
