![]() A man convicted of trying to rob Taco Bell in Ocala using a rock has been sentenced to four years in state prison. Kewarren Anderson, 40, received the sentence on Thursday. Court records show he was credited for six months and 19 days of time already served. The incident happened in July 2025 and was recorded on body camera video later shared by Ocala police on social media. The footage shows a K9 unit tracking Anderson from the Taco Bell at 2380 SW College Road to a nearby trash bin. When the dog located him behind the bin, it bit Anderson. According to the arrest affidavit, Anderson told police he was homeless and needed money. He admitted he tried to rob Taco Bell by climbing through a drive‑thru window while holding a rock and demanding cash from employees. I'm thinking we got about 8" of snow. The entire hat of the silly garden gnome Mrs B put out in the front yard is exposed. Its a funny sight really. A sea of white and this little pointed hat is all you see. I took a picture and captioned it "The Gnome never left his post", and sent it to a friend. In the end it made a good snow gauge.

Overnight Baked Oatmeal is in the crock pot on low and the kitchen smells heavenly!
Ordinarily we would bake it in the oven when we get up in the morning, but the thermostat on our Chambers stove wasn't calibrated properly after we got it refurbished. We are waiting for the technicians to swing by the house and fix it. They go all around the country to pick up old stoves to refurbish, but they are based in Dallas, so we have to wait for them to get back in town. In the meantime, I am seriously thinking about purchasing a combination toaster oven/air fryer. We don't have much in the way of counter space (house built in 1907). We'll figure something out, I am sure. Posted by: Teresa in Fort Worth, Texas, AoSHQ's Plucky Wee One - Eat the Cheesecake, Buy the Yarn. at January 25, 2026 10:13 PM (SRRAx) 41

How many of these did you know? I knew #3 (not sure why), #6 (doesn't everyone know that?) and #20 (worked in a shoe store from 1986-1989).
It depends how you ask the question. If you asked "what's the word for X," I knew 2, 3, 6, 13, and 18. And #9, if you count knowing the Japanese word for it: asatte. ("Tomorrow" is "ashita.") If you asked "what's the definition of the word X," I could add 1, 8, 9, and 19. And I might have guessed 14 and 17 correctly, but I didn't "know" them. Funny how the brain works. And I think this was posted to the HQ many years ago, because I remember a discussion of how a Box Tent was actually called a Barbie Table. But I also had enough time to forget all the rest of the words, and I'm only 29. Posted by: mikeski at January 25, 2026 10:21 PM (VHUov) 76

The Left is doing what they're doing in MN because they understand that Americans are, by and large, huge pussies.
They will go queasy and freeze up at the sight of the first drop of blood. But the blood is *nothing* compared to the tears. Once the ensuing crybullying commences, they will do as they're conditioned to do - cower in the corner and piss themselves like kicked dogs. Whatever they may think about the issue in question, they will clamor for all Leftist demands to be met, because then the Left will hold up their end of the deal, and cease the nasty, yucky confrontation these hothouse flowers fear so much. But there's another side to that coin: all these cringing, supine sissies really want is for order to be restored. If someone puts a stop to it forcibly, they'll switch from demanding surrender to cheering on whoever ended the unrest. Like children in a schoolyard, which they basically are. The answer here is simple. Trump needs to militarize Minneapolis, crack skulls, hand out federal felonies like penny candy, arrest their political leaders, and bring the city to heel. Or continue getting pantsed and stuffed in his locker by Democrat street activists. Whatever. Posted by: Yudhishthira's Dice at January 25, 2026 10:24 PM (BI5O2) 90

Those stolen nuggets will be reflected in prices. This dude didn't "pay it forward." McDonald's customers did.
Cody Bondarchuk later calculated that he cost the company roughly $1,600 over his tenure. In the context of a high-volume McDonald's that might do $2–3 million in annual sales, $600 a year in "missing" nuggets is a rounding error. It’s the equivalent of losing a few pennies an hour—hardly enough to trigger a corporate audit. Posted by: Unknown Drip Under Pressure at January 25, 2026 10:29 PM (a4flb) 115

This royal throne of kings, this sceptred isle, This earth of majesty, this seat of Mars, This other Eden, demi-paradise, This fortress built by Nature for herself Against infection and the hand of war, This happy breed of men, this little world, This precious stone set in the silver sea, Which serves it in the office of a wall, Or as a moat defensive to a house, Against the envy of less happier lands, This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England At the end she looks up at a representation of Shakespeare himself. That is the route I would bet Trump takes. At this point in time, there are zero representatives or senators in Babylon DC who are supporting any thought of: • triggering the Insurrection Act, instead there is talk of legislation to prevent Trump from using it. • codifying any of the Administration's attempts to sanction MN for the fraud • call for any action against the fraud of Minnesomalia's leadership for their active roll in the Insurrection. So bottom line, its only the fraction of We The People who haven't chickened out over the chaos and violence brought in by the Bolshevicks who are supporting, only in word, not deed, the Administration's attempt to deport the criminal aliens. The very thin profit margin turns to a very thin loss so that every additional unit sold costs the owner more and more and there is no way to find out how and so eventually they close.
A busy store, managers expect around 3%-5% loss due to bin time-outs, droppage, and this extra nugget is actually a common thing. Chick-fil-A and McDonalds aim for under 1% "unaccounted for" shrink using more rigorous inventory and automated fry-timers. The answer here is simple. Trump needs to militarize Minneapolis,
Since Minnisomalia will fight to the death to keep foreigners who murder, rape and steal, they should get an influx of foreigners who have the ability, the ethics and the Go-To spirit to murder, rape and steal. Trump makes a deal with Putin, in exchange for looking the other way on oil sales to Europe, Putin releases some of the most junk yard dog ex-Spetznaz (preferably dishonorably discharged) to sojourn in Minnisomalia with an informal bounty per head. Win-Win-Win. Still I wouldn't get tired of all the winning. Nuggets might? actually cost McDs enough for 11 instead of 10 to be an issue. But I don't know. There is a reason that the fast food chains push the super size items. The actual cost of the food is not that much of their cost to serve any give customer.

Who the heck is Bobby Ferris?
Posted by: Bobby McFerrin at January 25, 2026 10:26 PM (VHUov) I know this is a random comment, however, one of my sons played saxophone at a Bobby McFerrin concert in college. They needed a sax player and chose my son to play with him. Regardless, I have a newspaper clipping with both their photos, but did not see the concert. Apparently for one song it was just our son and McFerrin (the photo). This was the Casanova son who dated girls by the twenties (that I am aware of). There could be more that I don't want to be aware of. He got the entertaining idea out of his system after touring the US in an off-Broadway musical. Sleeping on tour busses did not push him for fame as that got old for almost a year. Had opportunities to play in Monaco and Japan by other big bands (Glenn Miller was one) but said no, thankfully. He taught HS band for years; then got another degree as a software engineer and has settled down as an engineer. Probably still playing sax now and then, or I hope he has time for when he's not fishing in rivers or the Atlantic. Posted by: ChristyBlinkyTheGreat at January 25, 2026 10:56 PM (WONhk) 197

Also had an Italian language radio show that was on for 27 years. A friend of John Lennon, David Bowie, and The Ramones guested on his show 22 times. Also, the very first time Cyndi Lauper sang live on TV was on his show. I enjoyed everything he did. Bowie wrote a song about him in 2002, "Slip Away".

It's the Dem politicians that are very stupid to think that strategy is a winner.

Like the wind-blown snow, I've drifted back in. 😆
For a moment. I just want to brag about our brilliant Belgian Malinois. Daisy really likes to get out and runrunrun several times a day, and suddenly it's just too cold and snowy. Daughter took her out to chase the ball, but even if the ball didn't get lost, the soggy thing was too cold for Daisy to pick up and return. MiladyJo and I did take a walk with her in the slightly-warmer afternoon. It was… brisk. Also, although mostly house-bound, she knows how to indicate she needs to go out back to squat in the snow, which she does, quite efficiently. Especially for her sake, I am glad we're going to have a good old Oklahoma thaw pretty soon. I don't miss those months of piled-up dirty snow when we lived in Chicago. Don't know how we could have had Daisy back then. 🐕 On 'nother topic entirely, sometimes I'm amazed that we can get those live performances from decades ago on demand on YouTube. I mean, old geezers who nowadays are dropping dead from oldness back when their voices were still good and they looked like babies (at least to me now). When I was taking the lights off I had 2 strings of white that had half the lights out, and 2 strings of colored that were half out. Without fail I add a few new strings of lights every year because of that, and I'm not sure the bad ones were new or from last year. I'm thinking maybe last year because they were lower on the tree. The new lights end up being higher on the tree because thats when I start running short and add new ones. Hard to tell because the colors are still vivid. Maybe my old string of lights has lasted so long because of the *lack of* handling-- I put them on when the lil tree was new, about 25 years ago-- never taken them off.
Tree is only 2.5ft tall, so 1 string of 100 lights is enough. Almost. It could probably take 200 and not blind me, LOL. Posted by: JQ at January 26, 2026 01:49 AM (rdVOm) 434
'Night AOP.
I texted back & forth with *whoever it was* so pretty sure it was BIL's actual phone. Probably was stolen from him. Posted by: JQ at January 26, 2026 01:51 AM (rdVOm) 435
More BiL drama, JQ? A stolen phone? I missed that. Thought he high-tailed it to Colorado.

mindful, for me that is the very best part of a good windblown storm, everything is so pure and unspoiled. This stuff better melt away before we have another big storm or we are looking at big piles of dirty snow for many months to come. I really need a warmer climate.
Posted by: Debby Doberman Schultz at January 26, 2026 01:45 AM (0nHVk) Usually around here it melts fairly quick, but when its cold like this the shit will linger. Its not often it stays cold, and usually after a snow its well above freezing. I don't see the dirty snow too often, but yeah it really sucks when that happens. You get that slow melt. the roads are constantly wet, the cars stay salted up, you go through a gallon of window wash, and you get to see black snow for days and days. {{{JQ}}} I shall continue to pray. I wish for a happy day for you soon, I had a really nice day here today, probably because I stayed at home and hosted. I am exhausted and bid you all goodnight and wish you sweet dreams.

Posted by: JQ at January 26, 2026 01:51 AM (rdVOm) Probably why it was a good idea as others suggested to get the cops on it. They could have got a trace on the phone and possibly nailed whoever had it. Posted by: Berserker-Dragonheads Division at January 26, 2026 02:02 AM (snZF9) 440
Before I shut down my other brain, LOL Bers, that's the kind of dirty snow that I am talking about, mounds and mounds of it for miles on end and clogging up every parking lot where you usually shop.

Posted by: BarelyScaryMary --------- That's the last I knew, just after Christmas. Then, *someone* called. I didn't answer.. but texted back for BIL to text me instead. They wanted me to call, but I (assuming it was the deaf-relay service) didn't want to deal with a lousy interpreter like last time. I had previously told BIL to just text, it was so much easier! Anyway, this *someone* claims to have "found" the phone and truck and "clothes thrown" around it and no sign of any person. "In the middle of the desert!" they said. (BIL has AZ plates, but I don't know the plate #) I told them I cannot help & to call police. Didn't want to give any info and they didn't ask for money. (yet?) It's all so sketchy and I'm waiting for police to make contact. Posted by: JQ at January 26, 2026 02:10 AM (rdVOm) 442
Oh JQ. I'm sorry. What a mess.

I seem to be in hibernation mode. I been napping on the couch off and on since yesterday. Probably nap again. I'll be awake during the day, which doesn't happen much. Guess I'll do stuff, like shovel out the parking spot. We didn't get that much snow in my little part of Babylon DC. More sleet than snow. It's going to be very cold this week. We're having an actual winter this year.

Hi Puddleglum.
I've been sleeping a lot lately too. It's been cold and grey here for a week. Luckily no snow or ice though. Posted by: JQ at January 26, 2026 03:05 AM (rdVOm) Processing 0.06, elapsed 0.0784 seconds. |
