As I recall, the Golden Globes were originally a fake award that a foreign journalist cooked up to get his boss (and the bosses of all the other foreign journalists) to pay for a big party. They'd collect money for "covering" the "award show", which they spent on booze. Then they'd give an "award" to any celebrity who showed up for the party.

He even brings out differences in personality. Yes, it's all romanticized but retains a level of naturalness. And, honestly, it's just enjoyable to look at.

The way the women are shown and proportioned reminds me, strongly, of the nudes in Frank Frazetta paintings. That is a compliment.

His Wiki page shows 20 of his works. 18 of them are nudes with this same feel. It says he died in 1896 at age 45. Can't help wondering if he wore himself out.

It would be true even those industries were rock-ribbed conservative. It's a fact of life in the mass media business. Without the mass, you don't get the riches. If you have the mass, you can.

It's why the YUGE media salaries are increasingly a thing of the past. With unlimited channels, achieving the "mass" is all but kaput, and the tremendous paydays that mass enabled will follow it down.

Sports are the last truly mass media category, and their salaries are holding up.

Yeah its all crap. Reason #475636 why I stayed in metal. It can't be faked, you still need to be top of your game to play it, and for the most part it gets better and better. I will say though, some sub genres of it exist that are pure garbage and no doubt infected by the same mentality that took out most other music, but there is a defense perimeter around a sizable solid core, and none shall pass.

Used to be that sports gambling was oriented largely to teams, betting on the Raiders, Lakers, White Sox etc. With the rise of Fantasy Sports, the only thing that matters is individual players putting up stats. Teamwork and winning games is a distant second to individual stats.
