105 I hadn't heard of Pierre Subleyras before. His work is realistic, rather natural and detailed even when dealing with mythology. This is a different take on Charon who is usually described as a skeletal death figure. The image of a young, strong man ferrying the souls of the dead is jarring, especially in contrast to the huddled shrouded figures. Did he use the contrast just for effect? Does it point to the idea of life after death since a very living figure is involved? No idea but it does get the viewer's attention.

(Can't resist wondering if he just liked the model's butt.)

Apparently had to emergency-suspend the stupid rule that forced independent contractors (owner-operator truckers) to have to take work from a contracting company (the carriers) that was outside their normal work.

That is, of course, impossible. Carriers who contract out loads - well, that IS their normal work and line of business. What work outside that scope could they have truckers do for them? Nothing.
