Scott Adams, Humorist and Rebel, Dies at Age 68 After Long Fight with Prostate Cancer

He's gone to the great Corporate Meeting in the sky.

In more recent years, he became a prolific presence through his books, on social media, through his livestreamed podcasts seven days a week, offering real-time commentary on news and media narratives.

In 2023, newspapers across the United States and abroad dropped Dilbert from syndication, ending a run that had lasted more than three decades, after comments Adams made on his podcast were taken out of context to allege that he was racist. He would later describe this encounter with cancel culture as one of the more liberating moments of his life.

While he lost access to longtime readers of his comic strip in newspapers, he gained a huge following among conservatives, who saw the mercilessness of cancel culture at play with him. Still, he continued to publish Dilbert online.

As a podcaster, he started every livestream with his patented "Simultaneous sip," where he would invite everyone watching and listening to join him in "sipping your favorite beverage. I like coffee." From there he would do a one-man monologue, usually for an hour, on the topics of the day, scientific and technology news, and anything else that interested him. He rarely interviewed guests, and did not play audio or video from other media. He typically would just describe it in low-tech fashion.

But because it was a livestream, he would continually interact directly with his audience in real time, monitoring and reading listener comments. So even though his was the only voice you heard, it felt as if he was having a conversation with his audience.

While Adams resisted calling himself a conservative, his point of view most often reflected the Donald Trump base, though at times, he would challenge that base on some issues.

In late 2025, Adams disclosed that he had earlier been diagnosed with advanced metastatic prostate cancer, and while he continued to undergo a multitude of aggressive treatments under his doctors' supervision, he continued to appear on his podcast seven days a week, for the most part, right up until yesterday.

Time dragged during the Obama years so now we have Before Trump and After Trump. With Trump, the long stasis of leftward motion of society stopped. Now it is the left fighting to retain and extend the ancien regime of Obama. This has resulted in a counter revolution world wide against globalism New World Order promoted by the WEF and the left.

I remember a video he posted a few years ago at the peak of cancel culture. For him it was not business/politics, it was personal. Made the point of Obama's assholery in a new way.

The one that shot her did not apparently have much if any interaction with the outside butch or the driver. Guy was being professional ignoring the bating of the butch while he was doing a 360 video sweep of the car for evidence for obstruction charges. You can see from his video when he drops the phone, presumably to draw his firearm and shoot.

He was not out in front of the car to stop her but was gathering evidence of obstruction (the car was the evidence--location, positive id via license plate, damage) until Karen put the car in motion hitting him, then he drew and fired. He had a phone in his hand for most of the confrontation.

During my last physical, my GP didn't do the procedure we all know and love, but did do the PSA blood test. It made me curious.

The PSA blood test is generally more sensitive for finding prostate cancer early, detecting tumors missed by the Digital Rectal Exam (DRE) (82% vs 55%), but has lower specificity (more false positives). The DRE is less sensitive but can catch some cancers with normal PSA levels, though its accuracy varies by clinician. Combining both tests offers the best detection, as they catch different cancers, with studies showing up to 91.5% diagnostic accuracy when used together, improving detection rates significantly over either test alone

Yeah, I like sharing their stuff for laughs and such, but this kind of celebration isn't fun OR enlightening. At least with Kirk's death, it showed how eager the Left was to actively kill their opponents, which many normies didn't fully appreciate.

93 51 Gentlemen, it takes literally 5 minutes to draw blood and get a PSA.

If your doctor isn’t doing that at least once a year, it’s malpractice.

There is absolutely no reason you shouldn’t start doing that in your mid-twenties to get a baseline.

There are amazing treatments, especially if it’s caught early.

Nobody should be dying from prostate cancer.

97 I learned a ton from him about why things are the way they are. Made sense of how the Left works, why they do what they do, and how persuasion and to an extent hypnosis are integrated within our daily lives.

Once seen, it can never ever be unseen. But sometimes it's hard to see in the first place. So you end up saying stuff like, "Why is Trump saying that?" or "Why do the media continue to lie even when they've been proven liars and wrong?" Once you "get it" you just get it. And it's not a secret as such, it is just the techniques are proven and work.

And when I read his How to Fail at Everything book, which is pretty entertaining, I learned that people who read self help books - any self help books - are statistically happier and more successful than those who don't, which I thought was funny.

“If you can come to peace with the fact that you’re surrounded by idiots, you’ll realize that resistance is futile, your tension will dissipate, and you can sit back and have a good laugh at the expense of others,” Adams wrote in his 1996 book “The Dilbert Principle.”

Makes sense that those striving to improve themselves (in all manner of aspects) inherently feel they have purpose and meaning -- and crave (continuing or better) health, beauty, happiness, success, creativity, et. al.

171 I think the protocol is to only test if there is a risk. So a doctor will only order a test if your family has a history or if there is a milestone age.

I got the PSA done when I turned 50. It showed elevated levels and I went to a specialist. He did an exam and ordered another PSA test. The second test came back normal. The specialist says there is normal day to day variation in the levels and they also change based on certain activities.

175 We've talked here recently about how Islamic Iran really is.

Iran is only about 60% Persian, with the bulk of the remainder being Turkic Azeris in the northwest, Kurds in the West, and Lurs in the southwest. The Kurds are used to statelessness, and Iraq's Kurds even refused a state two decades ago. The Azeris? Who knows — maybe Iran would prefer to join up with their brethren in post-Soviet Azerbaijan.

Radical Islam helped keep Iran together following the fall of the Shah in 1978, but Islam ain't what it used to be in the Islamic Republic. Historian — and mandatory X follow — Edward Luttwak noted on Sunday that "Iran is more than 50% post-Islamic, as its empty mosques attest." Two years ago, All Arab News reported: "Mohammad Abolghassem Doulabi, a senior cleric for Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, delivered a speech to a group of religious students in which he stated that 50,000 of Iran’s 75,000 mosques have closed their doors."

If post-Ayatollah Iran requires a binding agent to hold its disparate ethnic groups together, Islam — even a kinder, gentler version — might not be it.

195 I loved the Dilbert series; many of the comically idiotic management policies that formed the basis of much of the humor in the strip I would actually see adopted at the federal agency I worked for (and in the banking industry in which I had previously worked). It even became a kind of game; someone would circulate a Dilbert cartoon, with one or more characters labeled as people at the agency, and the representation was always spot on. Also, more times than I care to remember, Dilbert even had predictive value. You'd see the pointy-haired boss formulate some stupid plan, and, sure enough, my employer would adopt something similar, if not the exact same thing. It was uncanny. Adams had a better grasp on the sheep-like mentality of middle management than anyone else I can think of.

196 I read recently that around 50 percent of men over age 65 have some degree of prostate cancer. Usually it grows so slowly that they die of something else. The trick is identifying the fast growing cases that need to be dealt with. Unfortunately the treatments all have downsides so simple monitoring ("watch and wait") is often the recommended approach. But not getting a routine PSA is just putting your head in the sand. Too many cases where catching prostate cancer sooner would have made the difference between living and dying.

those of us who have faith sometimes forget that the actual life you live is very important as well, not just the thoughts you think or the words you say. Scott lived his life to the fullest, and did the most he could to help those around him with the tools he was given. And he was always honest, often brutally honest, with himself and those around him.

This is very common among that type of narcissism.

Whatever they do, they are enough to justify it.

If they do something that could be seen as wrong, that's the fault of somebody else, perhaps somebody who "did worse" (including by interpretation as "worse") or somebody who started it. "Trump is the one initiating the violence!"

But before they come to that they have this: *They* are not that kind of person! Even if they made a video of themselves aping Charlie being shot in the neck and laughing, that's not *really* who they are--they are just making a point because of how bad they have convinced themselves Charlie was. Conservatives need to be taken down a peg.

And so on.

And it's all accompanied with torturous "logic" to come to the assessments that "justify" their behavior.

270 The list is uncannily accurate.

Since Democrats are once again engaged in Kristallnacht-style violence because the electorate rejected their policies, it's time once again for my periodic reminder that all Democrats are fascists.

I love the fact that whenever I point this out, some Democrat invariably claims "Derrrrr... you don't even know what fascism is!" So let's explore fascism a little, shall we?

Listed below are attributes and practices that all 20th Century fascists have in common with the Democrat Party of 2025:
1. Laws promoting the seizure of guns from law-abiding citizens and/or the denial of gun ownership rights for law-abiding citizens.
2. Censorship of free speech by pretending such censorship protects the citizenry from faulty information (i.e., so-called "disinformation").
3. Government control of industry.
4. Government control of the mass media.
5. Control of the entertainment industry as a means of propaganda. (See: Leni Riefenstahl; Walt Disney Corporation.)

That and he was born in Africa. I read a bit of the Avesta (the Zoroastrian Bible) and my thoughts were there was some connection to Hieronymus Bosch and Brugal the Elder and their fantasy paintings. It is likely the first guilt religion to pop up. It certainly influenced the development of Christianity.

304 Johnny Von Neumann was by all accounts, a pretty smart guy. He had a deathbed conversion, surprising many. It is thought he acquired a particularly fast acting cancer as a result of visiting one of the hydrogen bomb tests at Eniwetok or wherever. We lost him much too soon.

The defense department had personnel stationed in his hospital room, on guard for the chance he would start blabbing top secret information in his delerium. At one point there were JCS and all sorts of high ranking American personnel consulting with him. Not bad for a kid from Hungary, he was a “secret weapon” for sure.

Diesel was always cheaper than regular gas up until a few years ago. Stricter enviro regs made diesel more expensive to refine, while demand (mostly industrial and transportation) skyrocketed. So the price spiked too.

IF you should happen to try to add Chia seeds to your diet (Omega 3, Fiber, lots of god trace minerals) DO NOT follow the advice you might somewhere online to add dry seeds directly to food to make a 'Crunchy option.'

This is a bad idea.

Wet it down. Water or oil. The seeds are like rice and they absorb a lot of liquid. If you do not wet them down, they will absorb the liquid, just inside you. And will be uncomfortable while they do it.

Also, start small.

Do you never change the oil in your car either?
------

We just lived thru a period where people were arrested for being alone in the forest or at the beach, where the definition of "vaccine" was corrupted beyond repair, where perfectly healthy kids were subjected to experimental "medicine", where nurses danced to tell us to stay away from each other and THEN danced to tell us all to go meet in public at civil rights protests, and where perfectly fine 40 and 50 and 60 year old people started having cancers out of nowhere a handful of months or a year or two after taking garbage "medicine".

Its not as simple as pretending going to the doctors is just as straight forward as going to get an oil change.

Mandatory adoption of low sulfur diesel is what screwed up the price relationship. Although refining diesel from crude is cheaper than making gasoline, the added steps to remove sulfur from diesel bumps up the price.
