The Morning Rant: This Is What We Voted For!

President Trump and his merry band of realists have dumped the conventional paradigm squarely on its head.

The United States does not need an endless supply of immigrants the way we did in the 19th century. We do not need farmers and factory workers to work the physical expansion of the country. We do not need to expand our domestic markets by importing new consumers, nor do we have the infrastructure to support those additional people.

But that convention was subverted anyway by the deeply unpatriotic Immigration Act of 1965: rejecting our traditional immigrants in favor of new ones who had no tradition of hard work, individualism, education, and self reliance. No, they began to import big-government loving 3rd worlders whose arrival coincided with the destruction of the traditional American dream of family, marriage, religion, and home ownership.

And of course they made welfare an integral part of government, so these newcomers would vote early and often for the government teat.

Well, Donald Trump & Company seem to be tired of that system, and have turned off the spigot!

US sees negative net migration for first time in 50 years during 2025

The United States experienced negative net migration in 2025 for the first time in more than five decades as the Trump administration continues a sweeping crackdown on immigration.
In a report released Tuesday by the Brookings Institution, the shift was driven by a combination of stepped-up immigration enforcement, removals of illegal immigrants, voluntary departures, but most significantly a sharp decline in new entries into the country over the past year.

And the President has managed this in spite of a rabid 5th column in his own party that wants to keep the gravy train of never-ending cheap labor running for a little while longer.

The real question is: How many people do we need in this country, and what kind of people should they be? That conventional paradigm says that even asking the question is vile and racist, and the asker should be banished to the nether reaches. But our country asked that question for a few hundred years, and we know the answer. In fact we have a wonderful template for immigration...it's called "America Before the 1965 Immigration Act!"

But for the foreseeable future a negative migration rate is just the ticket. It will moderate housing costs, it will improve the employment opportunities for Americans, it will decrease our welfare and medical costs, it will decrease crime in America.

So what is the downside? That's a serious question!

10 The argument was that we need millions of immigrants because they are doing jobs Americans won't do, at least at low salaries.

But as we've found most of these immigrants are not working. And even those working are mostly on various forms of welfare. AND the Americans they replaced are also now on welfare.

So what did we gain here? Less then nothing - we've gotten an explosion in government spending and inflation AND crime which dwarf whatever supposed savings we are getting

Birth rates are dropping just about everywhere. Baring a war or deadly disease it will take some time, but just not doing anything will see a 3B population (likely still declining) in our future.

And it is interesting that we can see some of the reasons for this birth dirth but it isn't clear what is the most important - feminism? consumer culture? work culture for women? and on and on

This may be controversial here, but i don't think he should have shot her. I don't think it helped him get of the hood of the vehicle or stop it before it hit him. He had the license plate. ICE have "general federal police powers" by statute. They could have arrested her later.

I don't think the agent committed murder as he is empowered to use deadly force when he feels his life threatened.

RAH, who she quotes from Expanded Universe, actually knew what to look for to estimate population size in his trip to the USSR using imagery and logistics to argue that the USSR had less people than it claimed in the 1960's. We see similar estimations from some now regarding China's population.

Sarah should have simply left it as many countries regard claiming more people as a sign of power so they are slipshod in population estimates and especially do not want to admit a declining one.

This type of analysis is why Massad Ayoob says that people who do fatal shootings often feel the mark of Cain. Endless speculation of what someone should or should not have done regarding about 3 seconds of a person's life facing a deadly and probably unexpected threat.

Had the officer hesitated, there is no evidence that trying to climb on the hood wearing gloves in icy slippery conditions would have been successful. Shoddy argument.

Second, I think the officer was taken by surprise--he was actually documenting the lawbreaking by video and you can see when he drops the camera. He saw a fellow officer being dragged and an oncoming car, he had now one second to 1.5 seconds to react. He chose to shoot to stop.

Logistics and coulda shoulda woulda are not particularly helpful here. One of the issues is that the arrest orders are for specific addresses across a large metro area. Too big for force concentration like you suggest.

So like American troops in Iraq in such missions, you always will run the risk of enemy massing to take out a specific detachment. Which is why you can have a flying reserve but that means minutes when seconds count.

Insurrection Act invocation helps in this matter because you don't allow the left to concentrate and mass by using checkpoints, etc. to keep them away from areas of concern. Not perfect, but takes away the flying monkey reserves from being able to concentrate on specific detachments.

I have offered this solution before. Big forklifts, like they use in auto scrapyards. They can move pretty fast. Pick up the car, Karen-dyke and all, and drop it into the box of a dump truck. Rinse and repeat. Drive the dump trucks to the impound lot, raise box, and dump out the car and its karens. Apply hickory shampoo, far from the lenses of cameras.

Yesterday or day before a clip was posted here of an altercation between two cops and three cars.
The middle car driver pushed off one cop and tried to crush the other cop between it and another car.

That driver should have been neutralized. They finally dragged the driver out of the car.

No. the driver tried to kill two cops. It was a poor resolution. No penalty for attempted murder by vehicle.
