Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | The Morning Report — 1/8/26![]() It's time for Trump to invoke the Insurrection Act.Considering that this is a "Smart Military Blog ™" and that many of you are smart military people and/or just smart people, You know full well what he is referring to, but for the sake of clarity, this is what it states: The Insurrection Act is a U.S. federal law passed in 1807 that originally authorized the president of the United States to deploy “such part of the land or naval force of the United States” that the president deems necessary to suppress an insurrection or to enable the local enforcement of federal or state laws. The act thereby expanded the president’s existing authority—under the Militia Acts of 1792 and 1795—to employ state militias to repel invasions or to enforce federal laws. The original text of the Insurrection Act is: individual state or territory, where it is lawful for the President of the United States to call forth the militia for the purpose of suppressing such insurrection, or of causing the laws to be duly executed, it shall be lawful for him to employ, for the same purposes, such part of the land or naval force of the United States, as shall be judged necessary, having first observed all the pre-requisites of the law in that respect.Psaki-Psircling back to the chutzpocrisy of the Left, considering what happened at the Capitol 5 years ago this past Tuesday, imagine the nightmare scenario if God-forbid Hillary Clinton had been President. There is no doubt that Ashli Babbitt and Roseanne Boyland would've been two among dozens or scores of Americans whose bodies would've been stacked like cordwood, and the Republican lawmakers and others rounded up and arrested for fomenting insurrection. That said, President Trump would be completely justified in his invocation of that act. And now given the fact that the pederast criminal governor Walz is contemplating calling up the National Guard to essentially do what that now ventilated asshole in the car attempted to do and that is form a skirmish line to open fire on ICE agents to stop them from doing their sworn duty. I think at some point, and very soon, President Trump is going to have to go before the American people to address this very dangerous and explosive situation before things get out of hand if indeed we've already blown past that warning sign. What happened is not the first incident of this kind as attacks on ICE and Police have been through the roof this past year. What I would like to see is the President hold a nationally televised ceremony to to award the Ice agents who took this terrorist down some sort of medal of valor. Hopefully before the left turns the ventilated terrorist into the next George Floyd/Horst Wessel. That and declare total war on all organized and individual acts of anti-law enforcement insurrectionists. And as Ace suggested if the insurrection act is invoked. It's high time to decapitate the head of the snake — The Democrat National Committee and anyone who publicly foments, and approves of any assault on any law enforcement officer, national or local. It's terrorism straight up. It must be crushed. Whatever dangers there may be politically in the near or long term, the danger to our civil society is real and it is mortal Doing nothing will be one of the final signposts on the road to America's extinction as it was founded. This madness ends now, or ultimately it ends us. The Insurrection Proclamation: Trump issued it eight months ago. Governors called it an immigration order.Have a great day. Note the difference in wording between 332 and 333. In the former, it's the President "may". In 333 it is the president "shall". And also note that 333 mentions the laws of the State -- ie state law. If the authorities of state are incapable or refusing to enforce their own state laws, those that protect some right in the Constitution (like life or property, or trial by jury and all that), then the president *shall* act to restore order. Regarding the ICE shooting in MN, even as I read the comments here on Ace’s post yesterday afternoon it became clear to me: we’re living in an age where truth really doesn’t exist. Morning everyone.
I'm still waiting for more news about the shooting in SLC last night at an LDS church, during a viewing for someone that died. At least two gunned down. Dead and six injured. Sounds like it took pace in the parking lot. Everyone with cars parked near the shooting couldn't access their cars, as it was in a now active crime scene. I don't think it was a religious hate crime, it sounds like it might have been someone connected to the deceased or their family. But the killer is still on the loose. I don't think anyone is wrong for calling for the insurrection to be put down.
But, consider two things. First, without Congress to impose proper sanctions (unseating the Congresscritters from Minnesota, for example), Trump won't have as much (constitutional) control as might be needed. Second, he will be going exactly where the Dems have said he would go for almost 10 years. He will be taking up ultimate executive power to crush a state. While he might be right (morally and legally) he will still be stepping into the role of "authoritarian." We will have to deal with those two things if we want to right the ship of state. These leftist street maniacs have been operating under an illusion of immunity and invincibility. They trusted in the restraint and even fearful reluctance of authorities to use deadly force. Long accustomed to strutting their stuff even spitting in the faces of cops, they believed they could do anything without consequence. Reality hit yesterday. Video evidence means nothing. The tiktok screechers, and Instagram screechers, and OF screechers, etc. will say things and the average person will just accept that they MUST know what they're talking about. Think about known racist and misogynist Charlie Kirk. The fact that they could not provide a single video of him being racist, or misogynistic, was irrelevant. Notice the first thing the saboteurs go after are the “talented and gifted” programs. The very type of programs that produced a Johnny Von Neumann. Excellence should be encouraged. Attention to detail. Punctuality. A broad based learning, rote memorization of facts, figures, History. Discipline. Etc. All of those things are now excoriated as “White Supremacy”. Can you believe that? “Get stupid, do dumb ass shit, or you’re racist!” I’m old enough to remember when Civil Rights was largely about getting everyone a good education. we spent time with the kids (well, mainly the boys) going over how to act with police. this is an important thing to know. it helped when one was going 90 trying to get to class on time and a statie nabbed him! he even got to go to court. life lessons. some are never taught, plus they get coddled SO MUCH. are they even considered adults, with agency? This shooting is going to cause a family mess. The woman was allegedly "married" to another woman. The woman who got shot had a relationship with a man which produced the child , now 6. The man died in 2023, so the guy's father, the child's grandfather is going to claim the kid. It will be interesting to see if the surviving lesbian puts up a custody fight

Regarding Artemis II:
"...the pressure of schedule convinced managers at NASA to look the other way, to place those scheduling concerns above fundamental engineering principles. In both cases, people died when the engineering issues were ignored." It amazes me how institutional knowledge can be lost. Each generation seems to want to make it's own mistakes. This mission is a huge gamble. NASA's willing to sacrifice another four astronauts to prove that Failure is indeed an Option. It's a fake and made up political schedule vs. Mother Nature is a cold bitch. I'd really love to hear Elon's take on this. Posted by: pawn at January 08, 2026 08:29 AM (Rmqfl) 174

Per the Executive Order noted above (Protecting American Communities From Criminal Aliens), MN has been designated a "sanctuary jurisdiction". It has company. This designation was made before recent events.
Per the order, Trump's next move is to cut off funding to MN especially federal benefits going to "aliens" as provided for in the order. Note that it's already been established that there's massive fraud going on. No need to send troops yet. Starve them out. Can't wait for Timmy to complain when he's neck deep in the fraud. Walz is a seriously damaged individual, and now a cornered one. I imagine Trump will stay cool and not invoke the Insurrection Act yet. Good to see that no one on our side is yielding an inch in the narrative battle over the shooting.
--- That linked article, the last excerpt .... Ok, that is very, very, very interesting. Not just that Trump has carefully laid a trap for the left. But also, the suggestion that all of the fed, state and local (including the federal judges) "resistance" is in service to cartel cash. If they riot today, impede a single ICE raid, the trap is fully closed. Trump will have every basis to invoke the Insurrection Act, every predicate satisfied. And legal review by the federal courts is barred. (Not that a clown judge won't issue an illegal injunction, that's inevitable.) What did I see? A lady who FA and FO…. Impeding law enforcement, ignoring their orders, then speeding away (right in the direction of an officer no less!) is insanely stupid at best. FAFO
--- She played the Death Card. She put that on the table, when she refused to shut off and exit the vehicle as ordered. The clunk of the transmission into "drive" was when she slapped that Death Card on the table. She chose to risk the death of the officers. But she also chose to risk her own death. All other analysis is irrelevant: When you refuse to comply with the order of an officer of the law--even an unlawful one*--you are playing the Death Card. Every law, every single law, is, when pushed far enough, subject to enforcement by death. Refuse to stop for the sirens and lights when you run a stop sign? That cop can choose to shoot you dead. *there is no right under law to resist what you think is an unlawful arrest. There just isn't. 1.) Released the illegal bio weapon they produced in cahoots with our Chinese enemies and sparked a global pandemic 2.) Fomented race riots in most major cities 3.) Stole an election and carried out a coup By mid-November of that year, I think Trump would have been wholly justified in saying "this is an illegitimate rogue state, and it's a clear and present danger both to the American people and global stability. I am putting it down by main force and proscribing both major Parties. No current or former officeholder may run in the new elections we're holding a year from now." When she put the car into reverse, but still away from the officers - here see increases her crime to the more serious resisting arrested, but still if she stops at this point she's like spending some time in a court house and getting a suspended sentence But the second she put the car into forward with an officer in front of her she graduated to attempted murder. Refuse to stop for the sirens and lights when you run a stop sign? That cop can choose to shoot you dead. This is false as a matter of law. Tennessee vs Garner (SCOTUS) established precisely the opposite: "The use of deadly force to prevent the escape of all felony suspects, whatever the circumstances, is constitutionally unreasonable." It's constitutionally unreasonable under the fourth amendment because it's unlawful seizure of your life. Sounds quaint but it makes sense when you think about it. The case then goes on to outline when it would be "reasonable" to use deadly force. He doesn't address the fact that the second and third shot were through the side window.
Spoken by someone who has never been in a hot situation where someone is trying to kill you. Adrenaline, basic survival instinct, etc. Or by anyone who knows anything at all about defensive shooting. You don't stop to admire the handiwork and grouping after a shot or two. It isn't explosions or large blood splatter like shooting zombies in a video game. Watch some of those videos from body cams and the perps absorb shots like a sponge. There are also many cases where trained officers were in a shootout and point blank range and somehow every shot missed the intended target. Shoot until threat is gone. In a war zone situation, with the enemy running hit and run guerrilla ops with these comms and tools, what would we do to foul up the ops? Could we jam the comms? My car has a small dent in it on the top corner of the front right quarter panel, next to the headlight, where a 185 pound buck deer ran from the woods, banging his head on my car, while I was doing about 25 mph on a gravel road, this last September. The deer went cartwheeling into the woods, was able to crawl away, and was dead after a 150-foot crawl. My SUV's a lethal weapon! Posted by: M. Gaga at January 08, 2026 09:28 AM (KiBMU) 411

She had no right to do what she was doing. When the cops, federal or not, go to arrest you - whatever those orders are, you have to comply. You don’t have to like it. “Get out of the car”. She refused. Then she decided to flee the scene. That’s not how this works. Then she appeared to be willing to run someone over in this process. It is a split second decision. Cops are on a hair trigger, they have been for many years now. Only a retard would provoke them in a life or death situation. It is possibe the “wife” was hoping for just a situation? Exactly! As with so many viral videos, we don't see what led up to the confrontation. Reports are that this woman and her team had been harassing ICE all day - stalking, screaming, videoing, blocking. What she did was an escalation, not the beginning of the engagement. JJ, you linked an article about private equity messing with oncology. I understand you’re having some personal experience in that system. I received my Oncology Boards about 45 years ago. I had little success in group private practice as I refused to model my treatment plans on economics but on what I considered best for the patient. Clinically I had success as a solo private practice for about 15 years, with many loyal and happy patients and families but I made about 30 k a year for myself. Most oncologists then were making 10 times that. There was no private equity firm involved with the practices around me. It was plain greed. And from what I’ve seen since, the greedy folks sold out to corporations for more money. So it’s not the equity firms at the root of the problem.
I was lucky in that I got out of medical school while Feds still supplemented tuition so I had no debt. So I could concentrate on care not loan repayments. Of course the folks I ended up not being able to work with/for had same background so that was not an excuse for them. Now folks coming out with hundreds of dollars debt, however, do.
