After Hilton Franchisee Lies About Its No-Service-for-ICE Policy, Hilton Hotels Announces It Has Cancelled the Franchise Agreement

I don't know how hotel franchise operations work. Based on what I see here, I guess that independently-owned hotels sign a franchise agreement to be part of the Hilton chain, so long as they maintain certain contractual standards?

After the Minnesota hotel owned by "Everpeak Hospitality" was exposed for terminating service for DHS for ideological, open-borders reasons, Everpeak claimed that they were scrambling to rectify the "error" and were reaching out to DHS to offer them rooms.

Everpeak Hospitality has moved swiftly to address this matter as it was inconsistent with our policy of being a welcoming place for all. We are in touch with the impacted guests to ensure they are accommodated. We do not discriminate against any individuals or agencies and apologize to those impacted.

This claim made by Minnesota immigrants was, get this, fraudulent.

Nick Sortor
@nicksortor

BREAKING EXCLUSIVE: I went into the Minnesota Hilton who "apologized" for banning DHS agents, and EXPOSED them for CONTINUING to ban DHS agents

@HiltonHotels has decided they want the FULL BUDLIGHT treatment at this point.

Hilton's operator, Everpeak, STRAIGHT UP LIED in their statement yesterday which said they were "in touch" with DHS to accommodate impacted agents, and "do not discriminate against any individuals or agencies."

NONE of that was true. There was NO attempt to reach DHS agents to make it right, per Asst. DHS Sec. @TriciaOhio

Even the FRONT DESK manager said he had spoken with the owner shortly before I walked in around 10:50pm, and confirmed the ANTI-DHS POLICY REMAINED IN EFFECT.

REVOKE THEIR LICENSE, HILTON, OR IT'S GOING TO COST YOU DEARLY. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED.

This is an INCREDIBLY dumb battle to choose!

Hilton Hotels smelled the Tranny Beer souring on the floor and decided to cancel their contract with Everpeak Hospitality:

Should Hilton be boycotted? I say "no." They had a contract with an independent company creating a franchise arrangement. That company violated the franchise arrangement. After attempting to resolve the matter amicably -- and after being lied to by the franchisee about the "error" and their attempts to correct the "error" -- they saw that the franchisee is just more Foreign Fraud and nullified the contract.

Hilton seems to have acted as we'd've wished them to. And they did so in under 24 hours, so that's not too shabby.

Was it because they were pressured to do the right thing? Of course. If there had been no hue and cry about this, one imagines they would have just let the franchisee continue with its open borders aggression.

But so what? We know all of these corporations react to public pressure. We saw them all dancing to the left's tune from 2009 to 2024, the year that the Woke Empire began to collapse. Hilton reacted to our pressure, and that's all I personally need from a soulless corporation. I don't need them to be "good corporate citizens." I don't need them to fight "evil," as Google used to pretend to do before they went into the Evil Business.

I just need them to make amends when they piss me off.

Assuming they want to keep my business.

And they did. And just like these c***sucker corporations need to be punished when they get out of line, pour encourger les autres, so too do they need to be rewarded when they snap back into line. Again, pour encourager les autres.

The left made itself toxic by its position of complete unappeasability. No matter what you did, no matter how hard you pandered to the left, no matter how much of your clientele your offended and alienated in order to obey the demands of AWFLs and unemployable communist bums, they scorpion left would always pierce you through the gut as you were ferrying them across the stream.

This was a major reason that people got sick of woke lunatics. It wasn't just that their demands were unreasonable and motivated by mental illness -- it was also that even if you obeyed their commands, they would still cancel you in a year or two.

The right shouldn't follow the left in this madness. We should establish that rule that if you do work to appease us and right the wrongs you committed against us, we will honor our side of the implicit contract and grant you forgiveness. That makes appeasing the right a much better deal than attempting to appease the unappeasable left.

Of course, all of this is predicated on the assumption that Hilton has really cut relations with these foreign aggressors and will not seek to remake their franchise arrangement the moment we're not watching them.

Which I hope is a good assumption, because if Hilton does join the foreign fraud and trick us, they've just signed their Bud Light Suicide Letter.

Happy Tuesday! I had a terrible long weekend due to my back going into terrible spasms on Friday and then even worse on Sunday. But I iced it down and am now mobile again. Once ever muscle along my spine stopped spasming and seizing and bending me over like a crooked old man, I could walk again.

Mobility is something you take for granted, until it's gone.

So now I'm able to move around pain-free and I got a really good night of sleep so I'm doing great. I hope you are too.

The independent hotel owner had assured us that they had fixed this problem and published a message confirming this. A recent video clearly raises concerns that they are not meeting our standards and values. As such, we are taking immediate action to remove this hotel from our systems. Hilton is - and has always been - a welcoming place for all. We are also engaging with all of our franchisees to reinforce the standards we hold them to across our system to
help ensure this does not happen again.

I see it on less political terms and more on just "we don't want to lose government contract" terms. If it's about winds blowing, it's only because the government is in the hands of Trump, not because of any cultural shift.

As soon as there's a Democrat, they'd probably change their behavior on a dime. It's not repeatable, is what I'm saying, unless power is maintained.

Hilton's C-Suite would probably be just fine, still, with leaving ICE agents in the cold if they could maintain their other government contracts at the same time.

I just don't see it as alignment with me in any way, just alignment with power.

38 Government travel is typically scheduled through online systems, and major airlines, hotel chains and rental car companies have agreements with the Federal government for lower rates in exchange for being included in the system. For denying service to DHS, the entire chain was at risk of having all Federal business lost, which would be a significant amount of money. That explains the high-level corporate's quick response. Sure, they're worried about PR issues and maybe reduced civilian traffic in a "Bud-Light" style boycott, but that's peanuts compared to a guaranteed loss of all government business.

I have had all of your problems with my spine and neuropathy but I was diagnosed fairly early on with inflammatory arthritis (psoriatic-as I had the lesions present) as the cause for my deteriorating spine and body.

There are some weird types that do not show up on standard tests and a few that are actually diagnosis by subtraction types.

See a highly rated one or be a medical tourist going to Cleveland Clinic or Mayo. John Hopkins is good too and quite a few good ones in NYC before Mamdani ruins the city.

74 "I don't know how hotel franchise operations work. Based on what I see here, I guess that independently-owned hotels sign a franchise agreement to be part of the Hilton chain, so long as they maintain certain contractual standards?"

Yes, that's how they work. A modern hotel franchise agreement is probably 500 pages and 50 of them are lists of things the franchisee must do or else.

Included in that list are requirements to operate in compliance with law, including specifically with regards to non-discrimination in bookings. That non-discrimination extends not only to race and religion, but also profession and employer, etc. It's illegal to refuse to serve federal agents, for example.

What these push-start morons did was so obviously illegal and in breach of the franchise agreement that it's almost like they were trying to blow up the franchise. They could have at least tried some less obviously discriminatory reason like not wanting ICE because of fear of angry protests. But they just said "FUCK ICE."

78 35 I don't know how hotel franchise operations work. Based on what I see here, I guess that independently-owned hotels sign a franchise agreement to be part of the Hilton chain, so long as they maintain certain contractual standards?

Buy a Domino's Pizza franchise and tell Pepsico you're going with Coca Cola. 😂😂😂
Posted by: rickb223
=======
Yep. The contractual power is more with the Franchisor corp than the franchisee. The hotel owners usually own the building and land, but without access to the franchisor brand and reservation system, it becomes an independent motel.

And the franchisor corporation get pretty mad when a franchisee does thing that hurt the mothership company's reputation in the marketplace.

Posted by: whig at January 06, 2026 12:27 PM (WDjG6)

79 "Was it because they were pressured to do the right thing? Of course. If there had been no hue and cry about this, one imagines they would have just let the franchisee continue with its open borders aggression."

"And they did. And just like these c***sucker corporations need to be punished when they get out of line, pour encourger les autres, so too do they need to be rewarded when they snap back into line. Again, pour encourager les autres."
- - - - - - - - - - - -
I can't recall the exact quote, or who said it. But the gist was to make it easier to do the right thing, so people will do the right thing. Probably directed at congresscritters.

As stated in the post - the hotels did the wrong thing. Hilton tried to band-aid that boo-boo. Except on follow-up, it was a gangrene infection, not a simple cut. So amputation it is - for those hotels. They could have been saved if the owners of the specific hotels were honest, but that wasn't the case.

So Hilton did the right thing, because they've seen the outcome wrong thing with Budweiser, and with Gilette's earlier advert campaign. So the reason for any potential boycott of Hilton is resolved, and they should be commended.

Then get up and walk it off, and remember: The pain and spasms are just a feedback loop. The spasms cause the pain, the pain causes more spasms. Once you break that loop, you are fine.

127 > Hilton tried to band-aid that boo-boo.

I don't think Hilton can or should have done much differently. They can't instantly blow up a partnership over what could have been a rogue employee being a complete dumbass. They put out a pretty good statement making it clear this was a franchise, not a corporate policy, against their policy, and they were checking it out.

Once it became clear the franchise owner was the origin of the policy and was doubling down, they cut ties.

I don't see what they did wrong.

Posted by: bonhomme at January 06, 2026 12:34 PM (Yp6az)

128 Should Hilton be boycotted? I say "no."

Agree. I don't see the usual mealy-mouthed lawyer-speak in their statements. I think they'll fix this, and other franchisees will fly straight.

Hilton has gone up against Trump before, in Atlantic City, I believe. That may be a factor.

Posted by: t-bird at January 06, 2026 12:34 PM (cFBJO)

129 There's some confusion above about whether the franchise was terminated/cancelled or something less was done (no longer in Hilton's system).

I think the answer is that the franchise agreement requires formal procedures -- and almost certainly a "notice" period -- before a termination become effective.

Virtually every significant contract has formal procedures to terminate that must be followed or the termination is ineffective. One of the requirements is almost always "notice" and usually an "opportunity to cure." Notice is usually 10 or 15 days, possibly longer.

So it's unlikely the Hilton company could instantly terminate the franchise.

There's another avenue of investigation, both at the hotels in question and in general.

Remember when hotels were being paid, by tax dollars, to host immigrants? Mostly of the illegal variety, because most legal immigrantion requires the ability to support yourself. Were these ex-Hiltons accepting wads of government cash

And the general question - how many hotels had phantom immigrants? Much like the daycare scam, were hotels inflating their numbers, claiming max occupancy on the taxpayers' dime? Sure, it would be fraud, but hosting less tenants than they actually held would mean less expenses for maintenance and cleaning. Moreso if some tenants also moonlighted as hired (or indentured) help for the cleaning staff.

If there's no injury or physical abnormality, hitting the gym is a great way to get rid of back pain. Many people have back pain due to a weak posterior chain. If you do have injuries or physical abnormalities, you can still hit the gym, but you may have to have a professional design your workout plan with those factors in mind.

“I do not believe that the solution to our problem is simply to elect the right people. The important thing is to establish a political climate of opinion which will make it politically profitable for the wrong people to do the right thing. Unless it is politically profitable for the wrong people to do the right thing, the right people will not do the right thing either, or it they try, they will shortly be out of office.” -- Milton Friedman

There are quite a few mild non addictive muscle relaxers. But there are a whole host of reasons to see a doctor specializing in orthopedics--physiatrists specialize in rehab and diagnosis for such issues.

Ace has reported having back issues before and absent an acute injury like lifting something too heavy, working out too much, lack of fluids and electrolytes, etc., recurring back pain can mask a whole set of issues that need a specialist doctor to sort out.

At a certain age, osteo and something inflammatory arthritis take their toll as well especially if you do repetitive motions like sit in front of a computer and type things for extended periods.

There are terms and conditions in the franchise agreement governing what must be done, what must not be done, and what may be done in order to maintain integrity of the franchise brand.

231 >>> This was a major reason that people got sick of woke lunatics. It wasn't just that their demands were unreasonable and motivated by mental illness -- it was also that even if you obeyed their commands, they would still cancel you in a year or two.

It's Kobiyashi Maru. The left has built in a no-win scenario where you can never appease, or placate, or pay enough indulgences. Eventually the woke crocodile eats even the most pious of its acolytes.

Woke people often abandon traditional religion, only to hop onto the woke religion. But their woke religion lacks one of the most beautiful, key aspects of religion: GRACE. The woke lunatics don't understand the concept of grace. It is a huge part of why woke is failing.

I see one that sees patients on weekends but is a clinical instructor at a chiropractor's college. It has probably kept me from central canal stenosis as I have now 8 discs that are in degeneration in the lumbar, thoracic, and cervical. Spinal surgery up next month for the cervical ones.

Psoratic arthritis is to blame and my decline from about 11 years of living with it has been a steady progression of the spine. Have to do the surgery now because I am actually and measurably losing strength due to nerve compression in the spine. This is after having multiple surgeries (also needed) in hands, elbows, and wrists over the last three years.

I've had nerve blocks, ablations, steroid shots, stay continuously in physical therapy for stretching exercises, and have used several medications as they tend to loose effectiveness for me over time requiring a switch. I have enough imagery over time of my back to make a photo album.

Pretty much every major hotel chain has a record of garbage woke corporate activism, especially after the 2020 riots season. 278 129 There's some confusion above about whether the franchise was terminated/cancelled or something less was done (no longer in Hilton's system).

Posted by: Judge Elric The Blade at January 06, 2026 12:34 PM (iFTx/)

Yes and no. But that is for things like renovations, signage, branding, and things like that. The franchisor can terminate immediately if the hotel is allowed to be used for illegal purposes(drug den, whorehouse) or something that will create bad publicity for the franchisor. This creates bad publicity.

Eh, it makes me cranky at times but other people face life threatening illnesses here. Mine is akin to a car body rusting out. Chronic pain is something you can learn to live with, mobility and strength issues from nerve impingement, you have to do something about because loss of neuromuscular control and strength cause a host of other issues.

I use pain medication sparingly now as I have taken a host of pain meds given over the years. Done acupuncture for year, therapeutic massages, continuous pt, meditation techniques (been to Mayo Clinic's program for that), and so on so I can manage but I also don't try to power through things anymore. If I can't do something without excessive pain, I won't do it unless dire circumstances apply.

FWIW, heat to loosen up muscles either heating pad or warm bath, cold to numb specific areas of pain (which causes stiffness to return again but relieves pain). So heat in the morning to allow stretching exercises, cold in the evening to take the edge from pain to go to sleep.

300 It's to be expected that the mass media are mostly ignoring what's going on in Iran. A small excuse is that they have no first person assets inside the country, having never cultivated anything other than government spokesmen for years.
But I suspect it also has a lot to do with them being absolutely against anything that would make Israel or Trump look like they've been right all along, so they'd rather pretend it's not happening.

It's going to be huge shock to about 90% of the country when Iran's government collapses; I imagine the Ayatollah will flee, and some kind of military junta will take power in the short term afterwards.

303 Adding in my update on my weight loss journey. After loosing 17 lbs with the double 48 hour fasting per week from early November to early December I called a time out for Christmas and vacation. I was a bad boy and I had coke and ice cream and cookies.

But I only put on two pounds.

Fasting repairs the islet cells in your pancreas and makes you less insulin resistant. So you burn sugar faster. And it seems to have worked because in the past my Christmas piggery would have been five pounds.

So I’m back to the double 48 hour fasts per week (Mon/Tues, Wed/Thurs). Hoping for another 15 lbs in the next few months. I’ll keep you all informed.

And no, it’s not glp-1. I had pancreatitis and no doctor in the land will prescribe it to me. Just willpower. It’s hard the first week or when I’m around people. But it gets easier every week.

I’m even thinking of my first 72 hour fast (until tomorrow). 72 hour fasts are supposedly regenerative and kill off old cells so since I’m old I may try it.

Glad it works for you. Heating pads or hot baths in epsom also do the trick and use cold packs (reusable gels are easier to employ than true ice packs) to stop inflammation and reduce pain.

If you have specific problems with joints and severe pain, there is actually a company that makes what looks like a small ice chest and it uses various attachments to body parts and pumps ice cold water through the system for issues like surgery pain and inflammation.

Used them during my knee surgeries for which they have a special attachment. They also have them for shoulders, backs, joints.

Those are the big artillery but have to be used in such a way as to prevent frost damage to the area.

Sometimes, electrodes and TENS units that issue shocks in a certain cycle can also temporarily relieve pain. Can be an issue though with proper placement of electrodes.

This was a major reason that people got sick of woke lunatics. It wasn't just that their demands were unreasonable and motivated by mental illness -- it was also that even if you obeyed their commands, they would still cancel you in a year or two.

I made this point to one of my nephews after he beat the pants off of some lefty busybody in multiplayer Call of Duty. So they went back through his comments in one of the forums and found where he had some racist comments that he'd put up for shock value when he was about 12 years old. Demanded an apology or they'd kick him off his online team. I told him not to apologize because they were going to kick him off the team anyway.

Which is exactly what happened.

312 242 Cutting off bookings at their website is a big step, although I don't know if independents rely more on 3rd party booking like from Travelocity or Hotels.com.

The next question is how much aid or loans did the owners receive to set up their hotels.
Posted by: weft cut-loop at January 06, 2026 12:57 PM (mlg/3)

It hurts, instead of being listed as "Hilton" in the searches on the travel websites, they will be listed as "Jeet Express" or whatever they have to name it. They also are removed from the Hilton Rewards programs and other travel rewards programs from credit cards, rental cars, airline miles, and others.
Hilton might also cancel any reservations made through their system, which could affect those travel sites because those reservations were made to a Hilton property and not the "Jeet Express"

Yep. Local government did that here, and the hotel turned into a flophouse and drug den. After the medical school was built a few blocks away, the city magically found the money to buy the hotel and tear it down because "it was in the flood plain". The damn thing has been in the flood plain for 50+ years but just became a problem in the last 5 years.

314 This may be redundant, but I'm too lazy to read 300+ comments.

The "franchise" arrangement Everpeak had with Hilton was probably one where they could use the Hilton name and had access to the Hilton reservation network. It's usually considered a win on both sides because the bigger company gets money and is seen as having more locations while the smaller company gets more bookings with little to no extra work to make that happen.

Usually there's a plaque somewhere in the lobby that says something about the property being "operated by." If it's a business name that's the franchisee.

I worked for Choice hotels for a bit and they use this arrangement as well.

315 It was sheer panic, probably stemming from the idea of lost government contracts, that drove their behavior.

Right. Government is a major customer that you don’t want to piss off, regardless of if you agree with their current politics.

317 I tried booking a room from Hilton's website, for Lakewood, Minn. It listed a Tru and three Hampton Inn's, all in Duluth.
No Hampton in Lakewood.

Posted by: Aggie at January 06, 2026 01:57 PM (USZhS)

319 Correction, I think Nick Sortor made a mistake at the beginning and this hotel is in Lakeville, not Lakewood.
Hilton's website still lists Lakeville, MN Hampton Inn in its bookings search.
Termination of franchise agreement could be at some point in the future, as there might be a required notice period.
The agreement itself probably runs for 10-30 years.
