Saturday Night Club ONT - January 10, 2026 [Double Ds]

20260108-NPS-JohnMoultonBarn.jpg

Welcome to Club ONT - A collaboration of the Double D's - The Disco and The Dino.

One less D than when we started this thing. Adjust your expectations accordingly. The place might look a little different, but it will still open on time, and it will still only be as classy as the patrons. Yeah, that means YOU! Oh boy...

Saturday Night Jokes and Other Funnies

He says to sales lady "I would like to buy a Baptist bra for my wife, size 36B."
With a quizzical look the sales lady asked "what kind of bra?"

He repeated a "Baptist bra, she said to tell you she wanted a Baptist bra, and you would know what she wanted."

"Ah now I remember" said the sales lady, "we don't get as many requests for them as we used to. Our customers lately want the Catholic bra, or the Salvation Army bra, or the Presbyterian type."

Confused a little flustered, the man asks "So, what are the differences?"

The lady responded "It's all really quite simple a Catholic type supports the masses. The Salvation Army lifts the fallen. The Presbyterian type keeps things staunch and upright."

He mused on the information for a minute and then asks "So, what is the Baptist type for?"

"They" she replied "make mountains out of molehills."

AI-generated police report states Utah officer was turned into a frog

A Utah police department's use of artificial intelligence led to a police report stating - falsely - that an officer had been transformed into a frog.

The Heber City Police Department started using a pair of AI programs, Draft One and Code Four, to automatically generate police reports from body camera footage in December.

A report generated by the Draft One program mistakenly reported that an officer had been turned into a frog.

Thank you for your continued patronage of Club ONT. We regret to inform you that the "Club ONT 2026 Suggestion Box" has gone missing, so we will be unable to implement anything you may have jotted down and dropped in there. The box was last seen in Doggo's possession. On a completely unrelated note, Doggo was last seen digging a hole out back and burying something. We may never know what he was doing.

We talked about stuff and I asked what he was drinking. Beer with a follow up shot of peppermint schnapps. I expressed doubt so he bought me a shot to go with my beer. Dad gum! It was good enough I've kept up the habit. Just a schnapps story.

52 I had something strange happen today. Maybe better for the book thread. But I’m reading a book entitled “Hit the Target” about the 8th Air Force in World War II. Some of the missions were very bad.

They mentioned a B-17 called “Royal Flush”, the plane and crew were the only one out of 13 that made it back to base. They named one of the waist gunners, and I’m like “I knew that guy!”. He was a customer on my route. I was aware he was a B-17 guy and had a rough time of it, but jeeze louise. He was a real nice guy. Every time I saw him he greeted me with a big smile on his face.

85 Milwaukee Bucks head coach Doc Rivers pushed a demonstrably false narrative about the fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good during a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operation in Minneapolis.

Following the Milwaukee Bucks’ matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers, Rivers went on a sprawling, emotional rant, claiming that Renee Good was simply an innocent bystander “trying to go home.”

Rivers added that the Trump administration is “attacking Brown people.”

Rivers added that the Trump administration is “attacking Brown people.”

I played basketball in junior high and HS. Because I was 5'8" and the coach made me. Does this count? I mostly hung out on the bench until an outside shot was needed. I was NOT going to mess up my hair or get black eyes fighting for the ball. If a tie ball with an Amazon I gave it to her.

I had two black eyes from practice and that was enough.

I still have the outside shot.

At an SCA event I will not name, there was a movement for non-alcoholic drinkers to compete and the beverage of choice was milk.

Harmless milk. But if you drink too much of anything, it can come back at you. And so it was, that the milk-drinking contest went badly awry when someone exceeded their limit and vomited on the campfire and completely cleared the area. I was not present, but heard the tale from one of the refugees, who needed a beer to restore their equilibrium.

I found a girlfriend that way. In the parking lot before a Steppenwolf and Tommy James and the Shondells concert in early 1978. It was January, bitter cold, and this young lady was passed out after puking in a snowbank. She was petite, I picked her up, warmed her in my van, then we went inside to the show when she started to recover. She sobered up during the show, we had a nice time and I drove her home about 20 miles after the show. Her friends had abandoned her when she fell out.

The simplest part of it - make sure the protestors are getting weapons.

The more complex part is whether to directly intervene and how - after the Gulf War the "no fly zone" stuff looked to be enough to topple Saddam...if we had kept it up. But Pappy Bush decided that Saddam at that point was less of a concern then Iran.

275 The 2004 WA State Governor's race set the template that the Dems haven't have been using ever since.

It was almost comical as they started to find votes everyone on the right said, "They'll keep finding votes until it puts the communist over the top and then they'll declare it over" and they did exactly that.

And somehow Rossi the GOP had no plan whatsoever.

Now, Trump sort of had a plan...get so many votes they can't steal it...but still even under Trump this continues.
Posted by: 18-1

One of the more impressive Dem moves was the trunk full of recently discovered votes that had been "missed" because they were in somebody's trunk for about about a week and a half after polls closed. The whole game was to scream and stall until the Dems got a solid bead on how many votes it would take to win the steal. Once that was set the game was to win by an amount just under the automatic recount number. And that is exactly what happened.

I think the specific thing they do with these :found" ballots is to take *real* votes and hide them away, replacing them with fake votes on election night. Since the votes are coming from Dem strongholds the numbers look real - instead of getting 80% they get 90%.

But if that 90% still isn't enough they just hand over the real votes - this way the votes everyone is pouring over are in fact perfectly legitimate.

This is why, for example, in FL they had the hanging chads - in a couple of Dem strongholds they put stacks of ballot in their stolen vot-a-matics and just quickly punched them through for Gore - the last few fake votes would not get fully punched through...

Two thoughts...

1) We have Butch McAWFL on audio saying, "I made her do it". Since the thing she did was try to murder an ICE agent this is something the DoJ could certainly act on - I don't think there is a federal "Son of Sam" law, but they did force similar agreements on John Walker Lindh for example

2) When the Canadian people protested Trudeau the Canuck Reich tried to seize donations to them on the grounds the people getting the money were terrorists engaged in a criminal enterprise.

And of course as a side note were the DoJ to do this it would stop a lot of leftist money laundering through these donation sites...

The Grateful Dead is a hinge point of who I should take seriously when it comes to music. I'm sorry, but if you think they're great, my opinion of your musical taste plummets to the bottom. I don't mean "it plummets". I mean it plummets to the bottom. Good God man, they just meandered around for 10 minutes at a time with zero distortion and zero drama. There were garage bands that created more suspense than The Grateful Dead.

Every member of a live performance should be left wondering "What will happen next?".

For the Grateful Dead, the answer was always "Don't worry, we'll just wander around for 10 minutes...nobody will add an overdrive or distortion pedal, none of us have any speed...but you can get really high before we pretend to end this song so we can begin a new song that will just be that same thing all over again."

"Mellow" doesn't have to mean unimaginative, or boring, or unable to include tempo changes and pedals to one's sound. They got lucky--they were playing live at the EXACT moment that drug use became popular, and in an area that EMBRACED drug use in spades. Without that singularity of events, there was a bar band in Lincoln, Nebraska or Ames, Iowa that had way, way, way more musical talent. Late entry for the prayer thread, sorta:

I have a relative, mentally "different" who has become estranged. We suspect she's been enculturated, emphasis on "cult," by a woman known to be druggie who has sponged off her in the past. We know my relative gets a sizable government freebie every month and that she immediately withdraws the entire amount, and we suspect that's why her "friends" have kept her around. Well, looks like maybe her funds have been cut off (that dogey trump!) and she's suddenly overdrawn and in deep financial trouble. Wondering if she'll no longer be useful to her "friends," but praying she will be okay, and of course we're always hoping, one way or another, that she will end up turning back to family. God willing.

This is for her.

Supposedly we've had sound weapons for awhile now. Regardless, that's great psy ops to hit the goat herders with.

The guard claimed that US forces used an unidentified weapon that felt like a “very intense sound wave". He said soldiers began bleeding from their noses, vomiting blood and collapsing, and that the troops appeared “technologically very advanced".

The account was shared on X by the White House press secretary, but US authorities have not confirmed or provided operational details. It is unclear whether any advanced or experimental US military technology was used during the raid.

He was visiting with family, sitting in the living room & having convo.. then said he was thirsty and got up, walked to the kitchen for "a glass of water".

*Thud* from the kitchen.

The man had collapsed in front of the sink, glass in hand & water running. Struck his head on the counter as he fell-- it was a deep gash but didn't bleed at all-- his heart had stopped already.

And it stops being a "sound wave" and becomes a "shock wave," as from an explosion, at some point.

At 1 atmosphere, that's about 194dB. Because 194dB @1ATM is a doubling of pressure at the "high" point of the wave, and a hard vacuum at the "low" point. You can't go lower pressure than a vacuum.

434 This account from a Venezuelan security guard loyal to Nicolás Maduro is absolutely chilling—and it explains a lot about why the tone across Latin America suddenly changed.

Security Guard: On the day of the operation, we didn't hear anything coming. We were on guard, but suddenly all our radar systems shut down without any explanation. The next thing we saw were drones, a lot of drones, flying over our positions. We didn't know how to react.

Interviewer: So what happened next? How was the main attack?

Security Guard: After those drones appeared, some helicopters arrived, but there were very few. I think barely eight helicopters. From those helicopters, soldiers came down, but a very small number. Maybe twenty men. But those men were technologically very advanced. They didn't look like anything we've fought against before.

Interviewer: And then the battle began?

Security Guard: Yes, but it was a massacre. We were hundreds, but we had no chance. They were shooting with such precision and speed... it seemed like each soldier was firing 300 rounds per minute. We couldn't do anything.

Posted by: rickb223 at January 11, 2026 01:32 AM (u/kd+)

435 Interviewer: And your own weapons? Didn't they help?

Security Guard: No help at all. Because it wasn't just the weapons. At one point, they launched something—I don't know how to describe it... it was like a very intense sound wave. Suddenly I felt like my head was exploding from the inside. We all started bleeding from the nose. Some were vomiting blood. We fell to the ground, unable to move.

Interviewer: And your comrades? Did they manage to resist?

Security Guard: No, not at all. Those twenty men, without a single casualty, killed hundreds of us. We had no way to compete with their technology, with their weapons. I swear, I've never seen anything like it. We couldn't even stand up after that sonic weapon or whatever it was.

Interviewer: So do you think the rest of the region should think twice before confronting the Americans?

Security Guard: Without a doubt. I'm sending a warning to anyone who thinks they can fight the United States. They have no idea what they're capable of. After what I saw, I never want to be on the other side of that again. They're not to be messed with.

438 Most of the purported interview with a survivor of the Caracas raid reads like heavy-handed fiction or AI.

Issue of a special weapon is separate. As I said earlier today, there have been sonic weapons around for a while. Meant to disable/disorient, non-lethal. I witnessed one demo of such years ago. Very brief emissions at low power - very uncomfortable, definitely would degrade proficiency of any targeted person.

The system I saw was intended for perimeter security or ship-borne security (ward off hijackers). Imagine more "tactical" versions might exist.

439 Dropping bombs on Mexico to take out the cartels is a tall order. The first problem is the various governments throughout Mexico are in bed with the cartels to some degree. Mostly a large degree it seems. How do you decapitate the cartels without destroying the Mexican federal government? Then there is the reality that the cartels are quasi-national States with their own military organizations with highly organized command and control. Third, Is the large number of American expats in Mexico, they would make excellent hostages. And fourth, are the billions of dollars of American investment in Mexico that would instantly be vulnerable to being blown away. I'm not saying it couldn't be done or shouldn't be done but going after the cartels with the military has all the potential to make Vietnam seem like nothing. At least that's how I see it.

453 Re Iranian regime targets.

Today it was reported a local commander of a missile unit in central Iran had been permanently retired via drone strike on his car. Umm. Clearly not something domestic opposition is capable of.

A few days ago the commander of the Basij in Mashad, cradle of the Islamic revolution - and the son of the one-time overall commander of the Basij - had been killed in fighting (Basij are the militia, lowest-level arm, often organized thugs, of the regime's repression structure).

In June Israel (based on a thorough understanding of regime procedures and patterns) waited for the IRGC in Tehran to be put on max alert, which meant personnel reported to their bases. Then they hit them (several spots), hard. Massive casualties.

Could be challenging to duplicate/expand on that template, but that would be highest leverage to push regime towards collapse. Think we'll see soon what we decided to do. Body count is high and climbing, Trump's red line is fading in the rear distance.

Grok thinks, if the "head exploding" sensation thing was true, that this would be some sort of pulsed directed microwave or RF type of weapon.

Go after the Mexican government with all out by Iranian style financial sanctions. Then you make it impossible for the cartels to ship drugs into the United States completely shutting down the border. The cartels have insanely expensive payrolls to meet; starve them for cash and the peons will revolt. Then you make it impossible to send remittances out of the US to Mexico. I would also add in liberal free one-way helicopter rides were necessary in Mexico.

461 Speaking of American hostages, today State issued evacuation advisory for all amcits in VZ. Presumably related to reports of "militia" roadblocks and searches for Americans.

The thuggish Cabello creature runs that network (the Venezuelan "basij"), I think. Easy to imagine factions within the regime pulling stuff like this, though it's hard to imagine a less savvy move than testing the US at this point.

But some are claiming the political prisoner release was only partial. In bilateral matters apparently VZ regime is saying "how high do you want me to jump?", including steps to re-open US embassy and coordinating oil issues. But for domestic audiences it's all bellicose trash talk, from the acting prez as well as others.

I expect "correction" will be an ongoing requirement in dealing with these losers.

Posted by: rhomboid at January 11, 2026 02:05 AM (U/Byj)

462 Another challenge I see with dealing with Mexico is that the United States has how many millions of illegal Mexican Nationals here. Plus the cartels have a complete distribution and money laundering infrastructure in the United States. As we've seen with the ice raids around the country, those illegal Mexicans have got it in their heads they own this place. All that could easily end up with Northern Ireland type terrorism that ramp up quick.

468 Hadn't seen the regime had publicly said it, but Israel (and the US, and others) have been prepping for a "Samson option" move by the mullahs if they're about to fall. Fair to say Israel is intensely focused on this. Having ravaged Iran's proxy network over the last 3 years, the real concern is ballistic missiles of course. (which makes the reported drone hit on a missile commander especially interesting)

Hezbollah has been greatly degraded but is still there, and Israel has been resisting *US* pressure to finish the job - which mostly means hitting their remaining missile capability and their Radwan force, their most capable infantry so to speak. Still seems the goal of disarming Hezbollah per Lebanese govt. policy is a fantasy - but destruction of the mother ship in Tehran might make reducing them even further feasible.

One can imagine the chaos and revolt in Iran has provided Mossad good conditions to restore some of their pre-emptive internal options they used so well in June against Iranian missile forces.

However, waiting to watch it on NFL network now sucks even worse, because:

1) when you've dvr'ed it, the first 15-20 minutes of that broadcast show the end of the game, who won, and the interviews with the winners.

2) Now, today, NFL Network decided the version of the broadcast you will watch, is the horrible 'skyview', where you see the entire field, can't see the football, and they add all this AI circly crap to further clog the scene.

During that, they tell you how to 'click down twice' on your remote to watch the normal broadcast style, but that doesn't work in the NFL Network later broadcast.

So, they can go to hell, again. Commies.
