I don't like people knowing how good I am at lock picking. My dad owned a jewlery store that when I was 7-11 yo. I got dropped off there after school. When I was 8 or so I was bored in the back room so I shut the safe and went to work cartoon style on it with a fisher price stethascope. My brother and I playing thief. About an hour later I was proudly presenting the combo to my dad. He called his co-owner and a new safe was there the next afternoon.
I started young. Combo bycycle locks. Master locks. I never stole anything, just showed people how easy it was. My neighbor had locked hereself out once and I was in in 10 seconds. She about shit. I've worked as a locksmith twice but always felt like I was ripping people off so I don't do it unless as part of my job. So as to save being ripped off by a locksmith. It can't hurt to spray lube the cylinder or a few drops of oil on the key every once in awhile Posted by: Skip For home use, probably okay. Commercial, like where i used to work, 44 floors on one tower, 42 on the other, each with 25 to 30 rooms.... de-gumming the cylinders, and hinges becomes short term labor intense. Graphite worked lomg term, and required less periodic maintence. Generally the maids would lose a floor master key quicker than the maintence interval of a full year of heavy use. We'd maintain a complete suite of a full floor's locks, complete with a floor and tower master pre-keyed, with spare keys for the front desk. Then the remove and replace could be knocked out quickly and the new set of spare locks rekeyed overthe next week or so. That's when we would do the graphite maintenance. It takes a dedicated, well-paid agitator to hit the streets for Maduro.
Whoever's got those deep pockets, don't forget about that $25 million bounty that you now owe Donald Trump. Posted by: t-bird at January 04, 2026 04:01 PM (BswBb) Posted by: Anonosaurus Wrecks, Like Shakespeare Except More Betterer at January 04, 2026 04:01 PM (L/fGl) 212
I have a FWP. There's a piece of information I got from the internet, probably pointed to by a Moron, and now that I need it, I can't find it. I have a friend who is competing against H1Bs for a job, and there was a "secret" application website that was known among H1Bs but not Americans. Since the jobs were posted but hidden, companies could claim they weren't getting American applicants and hence were allowed to take H1B employees. But somebody exposed the secret job postings so Americans could have access as well. But, darn it, I don't know where to retrieve that info.

MBA's in one quick lurch, and it all happened close to 30 years ago. I don't think we can blame the kids or the English majors for this one.
