Every data center should have a big-ass circuit breaker on the wall near the front door, that would shut down all power to the servers, if pulled. Have it inside the UPS loop. And make it a "one-time" breaker, non-resettable. If an event occurs that causes it to be pulled, it's not going back on without an investigation.

Well, I've got to see if any of the modern day ones stack up (Let Me In and The Woman In Black probably will sit near the top since I've seen them before, though it's been forever, and have good feelings towards them).

But, for now, it's Ten Seconds to Hell, a Robert Aldrich film, the only one he made for Hammer, and is fairly far outside Hammer's normal wheelhouse. I don't think Hammer's management was involved until post-production (it was filmed in Germany).

I think the issue is we've used a significant percentage of some of our high precision munitions, which take time to manufacture (and lots of rare earth material only currently available through China). As we don't typically go through them at a super fast rate, we don't have a bunch of industrial infrastructure ready to immediately ramp up production.

Ukraine, as I understand, didn't get a lot of our most high-tech weaponry, and instead heavily depleted some of our more convential ammunition stockpiles (artillery shells especially). Same general trend, though, regarding limited manufacturing ability to replenish on short timelines.

If we went to total war (say, China), we could ramp production capabilities similar to WW2, although probably not quite as quickly due to the more advanced technology involved.

The issue with the discourse is that there's this panic that we have 0 interceptors, not a diminished supply, and that we can't replace them while operating under the assumption that Iran can just replace everything instantly because of a disconnected rail line to China that takes weeks (and a changeover because of different gauges), which China will just supply while Iran is literally dying.

It's stupid.

Half of the missiles that Iran has fired since the MOU was scrapped have just exploded in the air unassisted because Iran is using what scraps of supplies they can find after 80%+ of their supplies were blowed up real good.

There was some headline about this grand new tech Iran was using on missiles. A camera that allows it to redirect.

The tech is 50 years old.

Its a genie out of the bottle situation. Like the gun. Sure you can regulate it, or keep it out of the hands of your population, but the bad guys will get it. The good guys obey the law. I don't think it something that can be stopped, or something that can be controlled. Its not like the "bomb" where you can control fissionable material exports etc. If its accessible over the internet or widely developed - some asshole or group of assholes is going to get ahold of it and use it to figure out how to make a "bomb" or do "bioweapons" research or some shit like that. Its inevitable. It seems like the methodology of developing AI is widely disseminated - not secret like fission was - and so its going world wide eventually.

Now, suddenly, they have to fight something they thought was already won. Same in NH and MN, while the GOP has a large money advantage.

The NC senate race was always going to be close. Senate races reflect the previous presidential races in terms of turnout most of the time, and GOP has a registration advantage in the state now which is new within the last four years. Trump won the state by 3 and Whatley doesn't have any of Robinson's baggage.

D's thought NC was in the bag because of Robinson, but they should have known it would be a tough fight because of Trump in 2024.

Either/Or, I am agnostic on this subject.

I don't know about that. I have to use Claude extensively on my current project. I've been using AI more and more in my core responsibilities over the last couple of years.

For programming, Claude is astounding. You can spin up multiple threads all tasked with the same project and have them competing against each other, checking each other's work, and taking the best results from each and incorporating them into the final result. It's like a whole team of high level programmers collaborating in real time and putting out very high quality work in an hour that would take the programmers a couple of days.

My only complaint is the code and comments are often more verbose than I'd like, and no matter how many times I direct it to be more succinct, it isn't. But that's it. The quality is very good.
