It's like that all over college sports. Football, men's basketball. Whichever schools have the biggest donors in order to pay out the most NIL $ will end up with the best players.

You look at these teams from year to year and hardly any of the players are "home grown". Almost all of them are juniors or seniors who have 1-2 years of experience and transfer in thanks to NIL $.

We're sort of at the point where these teams are professional organizations for some reason tied to universities who are all proud about their rigorous academics and scholarship. Many of these kids don't even bother to attend class. They have little to do with the other school attendees.

It’s whoever wants to pay the most money, raise the most money, buy the most players is going to have the best opportunity to win. I don’t think that’s the spirit of college athletics. I don’t think it’s ever been the spirit of what we want college athletics to be. That’s my major concern: the combination of pay-for-play, free agency, and how that impacts development.

Alabama's coach screwed up early on the 4th down call - if Alabama can't get any traction in the next half a quarter, this game is over. And IU will win the national championship. Pretty crazy, the rest of us Big Ten types are going to be waiting for his retirement so we have a chance. At least I can stop hating Ohio State so much.

That hasn't been the spirit for some time. The courts opened this up. The alumni money men wanted it. They are now essentially team owners. The NCAA was actually created to prevent this, but then they screwed the pooch themselves so as to make everybody hate them.

60 Saw one small story today that has convinced me that Iran’s government truly will collapse this year. (Who knows the timing). Remember this is happening because Iran currently has 50% unemployment and 40% inflation. Fuel prices were always kept extremely low, but in an attempt to get control of their fiscal catastrophe the government has been raising those prices quite a bit, which has hit everyone very hard.

So today a government minister announced they have a plan to make everything affordable again - they are going to print up a lot more money so everyone will have plenty.

What could possibly go wrong.

My team was kept out of the playoff by the pro-SEC bias. And we won our bowl game.

The Texas Tech loss was bad. Someone said that when you look at the last year and this year's games, the team on a bye in the playoffs have struggled royally. Indiana is the exception, but I wonder if there is something to that. Maybe expand to 16 teams and no one gets a bye.
