The song was written by Trevor Horn, Geoff Downes, and Bruce Woolley. Upon its original release, it topped charts in 16 countries, including the UK, Australia, and Japan. Ken Burns (yes, that Ken Burns) prepared a multi-episodic documentary about New York. The first episode covers its history up to the opening of the Erie Canal in the mid-1820s. It is what I will go back to view to take a nostalgic look at those times. I can pretty much do without the rest of the series. Here is the link to Episode 1 https://youtu.be/V1omW-OPlRk I remain astonished that the warp and weft of our history, our doughty Somalis, were not mentioned even once despite their innumerable contributions to what this society has accomplished in 250 years. I don't understand the workout places that have a big front window and you can see the gals inside, normally one of those pole or silks class. No not strippers. I wouldn't want anyone watching me off the streets.
I'm thinking about starting TRX again. That was a good workout. Imagine you are a slave in ancient Rome trying to earn your freedom. Straps, whips, kneeling, getting yelled at a lot. Accept your commander is a little gal with dancer legs screaming at you to hold position five more seconds and you are 4 seconds from collapsing. Great stuff. Also might try a spin class if I can get up early enough. Spin, TRX, and some class with butt & gut in its name. My goal for this year. Posted by: banana Dream at January 01, 2026 03:28 PM (3uBP9) 58

NYC and NY state are probably well on the way to require massive tax hikes for all the spending they plan to do. NY Comptroller, "New York State’s Financial Plan shows a growing structural budget deficit with a cumulative three-year budget gap of $34.3 billion, as forecasted by the Division of the Budget. The gap is up $7 billion since the January release of the Fiscal Year 2026 Executive Budget Financial Plan, and is attributable to downward revisions to the economic forecast and projected revenues, as well as increases in projected spending. When the projected costs of the federal reconciliation bill are added, the gaps as a share of spending are comparable to gap levels last seen in April 2009 during the Global Financial Crisis." Activists Sabotage the Tech That Keeps F-35s From Getting Hit by Missiles Only hours into 2026, an “autonomous” direct-action group says it broke into Bruntons Aero Products in Musselburgh, outside Edinburgh, and destroyed machinery used to manufacture aerospace components supplied to Leonardo. Leonardo UK manufactures electronic-warfare and aircraft survivability systems — including BriteCloud, an expendable active decoy designed to confuse radar-guided missiles. Leonardo has also received contracts tied to integrating this system with the F-35. So this wasn’t “property damage” in the abstract. They’re bragging about sabotaging a link in the supply chain for aircraft self-protection systems — the kind of tech meant to help jets like the F-35 survive radar-guided missile threats. It’s sabotage in pursuit of a political cause and that’s exactly what terrorism is. Posted by: Lizzy at January 01, 2026 03:50 PM (NuV6c) 93

It's what Congress wants. The massive fraud being exposed is being perpetrated by both Democrats and Republicans. They've been stealing the public's wealth for decades under the guise of a "budget" and "programs." You, me, everyone paying taxes has been ripped off for decades by our government. It's the largest theft of wealth in history. I tend to agree with John Adams' statement "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." As we have seen in Minnesota, Ohio, Maine and all the other states with just Somali fraud perpetrated by all levels of state government, this country is no longer moral or religious.
