Trans Teaching Assistant who Flunked a Christian Student for Rejecting Trans Propaganda Has Now Been Fired

I would say that the student's essay could be docked some points for relying so heavily on non-academic sources -- the Bible -- but then, the trans TA's rejection of all her arguments was based exclusively on quasi-religious fantasy and myth-making, wasn't it?

And, in addition, the trans bully was attempting to compel a Christian to renounce her faith and accept the trans pseudoreligion as the one true religion. So a bit of citation of the Bible is appropriate. If someone pushes their garbage mental-illness religion on you, you have every right to reject it and defend your own.

I'm glad this noxious woman-abusing male bully is now kicking rocks.

A transgender graduate teaching assistant at the University of Oklahoma has been removed from instructional duties after failing a conservative student's Bible-based essay on gender -- a grading decision the university later concluded was arbitrary following an internal review.
The controversy erupted in late November when Samantha Fulnecky, a 20-year-old junior, submitted a written response for a psychology course that rejected modern gender ideology through a Christian lens. The assignment asked students to write a 650-word analysis of an academic article examining whether conformity to gender norms was associated with popularity or bullying among middle school students.
Instead of echoing the paper's progressive framing, Fulnecky grounded her response in faith, writing that she does not believe there are more than two genders "because that is how God made us."

The paper was failed by her instructor, Mel Curth -- a transgender graduate student who uses she/they pronouns -- who told Fulnecky she did not properly address the academic prompt and relied on "personal ideology" rather than empirical evidence. Curth also characterized portions of the essay as offensive, objecting to Fulnecky's use of the word "demonic" and arguing that strict gender norms, by definition, create stereotypes.
"To call an entire group of people 'demonic' is highly offensive, especially a minoritized population," Curth wrote in written feedback, while also pointing out what Curth described as internal contradictions in the essay's reasoning.

On Monday, the university announced it had completed its investigation and determined that Curth's grading of the paper was not applied fairly. In a statement, the school said the decision was based on a review of Curth's own statements and concluded the graduate teaching assistant would no longer have instructional duties.

As far as applying rigid academic standards to this essay: It was a 650 word essay. This is an assignment we used to give to middle-schoolers. It's basically an opening argument, two paragraphs, and a conclusion that merely restates the opening argument. It's not as if this was a real essay. It's a time waster.

The student was being compelled to accept the framing that we have two sexes merely because of "gender norms." She has every right and duty -- particularly as a believing Christian -- to refute that assumption. A Jewish student cannot be required to write an essay affirming the assumption that Jews deserved the Holocaust.

It's very clear that this tranny is not interested in actual academic work. He's interested in forced prosyletization to a captive audience.

I've seen a few different discussions and stories on this and it's not at all clear to me what the parameters were for this assignment, and whether there were any detailed parameters at all such as a requirement to cite studies or produce empirical evidence or what have you. Given the 650 word limit - about 2.5 double-spaced pages - there would be little to no room for such, and this sounds more like a prompt for a reaction paper, which are pretty free-wheeling.

But, while appeals to faith don't necessarily count in academics, the Christian student can at least appeal to the argument that the Bible is a taproot of American civic culture, and can be used as a reference in debates about fundamental social questions.

The tranny can't exactly point to zher illustrated copy of "Little Jimmy's Gay-Ass Dickchopping Adventure" zhe's been reading since 5th grade as some kind of foundational intellectual document.

Then there was a small army of TAs who would teach breakout classes inbetween of a dozen or two students, so you could actually interact and ask questions if you didn't immediately grok what was in the lecture.

Prof also had office hours, but good luck with that.

This was more for the 100 level pre-req kind of classes. (Physics, Calc, etc.). As class size dropped, there were fewer and fewer TAs involved.

When I was a TA, I was an actual assistant. I didn't teach and did little grading. It was hands-on project/lab class and the prof needed help to get to all the students who needed help.

I had some classes semi-taught by TAs. Big auditorium courses with 500ish students headed by the professor one day a week, smaller 30-ish-student breakouts taught by TAs the other day.

Back in the day, I dated a Russian former pro tennis player (Elena) who came up in the tennis world with Anna K. Elena was a little younger than Anna, but claimed she won almost all of the matches they played, and would have been a much better player in the pro circuit.

But Anna had access to much more money for tournaments, travel, etc. So Elena eventually couldn't move ahead in the sport.

I was skeptical of this story, so I looked her up. Sure enough, there were records of their matches (in Russian). Elena wasn't bullshitting. And she was attractive too. Not as pretty as Anna, but not far off, and had a smoking body.

She's still one of my FB friends. She did not age well in the face, but the body is still rocking.

Bible doesn't say, nor does it say that God created nobody except Adam and Eve at the time. Only that they were created first and placed in the garden. Could have been hundreds or thousands of others created, outside the garden. Adam and Eve were representative, not necessarily solo.

That's an interesting question. The Bible would make it seem like the time of residence in the Garden was fairly short, but we really don't know.

Assuming that Adam and Eve took God's commandment to "be fruitful and multiply" seriously, they probably tried baby-making pretty soon after their creation. But in the fall story, there is no indication that they had any children yet (and that would probably contradict the theology of the story, since it would mean that Cain, their eldest child, would have been conceived in prelapsarian conditions).

Interesting question, but unanswerable.

When I write the Wednesday rant, I target 600-650 words, because if I go meaningfully longer than that, engagement plummets. My first drafts are usually at least 50% longer than that, then I start chopping to try to keep total length under control.

So that's how long the assigned essay was - an average Wednesday rant. As a college assignment. If it wasn't a "write it, edit it and hand it in during this class period as an exercise" assignment, it's really laughable.
