![]() Definitely check out the whole thing. Some amazing photos! ![]() ![]() In what the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) called “an extremely rare event,” an adult Michigan man became infected with rabies following a kidney transplant. According to a CDC report, the man received a left kidney from a deceased donor in Idaho in December 2024. The procedure went perfectly, and the patient made a full recovery, but just over five weeks later, he started experiencing worrying symptoms. The unnamed kidney recipient first started experiencing tremors, leg weakness, confusion, and urinary incontinence, but things only got worse. Within days, he was hospitalized with fever, difficulty swallowing, signs of hydrophobia, and autonomic nervous system dysfunction. He soon had to be mechanically ventilated because he couldn’t breathe by himself, and died a week into his hospitalization.----- Having visited Zion National Park recently, I can attest to crowd sizes and shuttle bus congestion. This might be a good way to address those things. Former NPS Superintendent Responds To Controversial Entry Rule At Arches And Zion National Parks: "The Time Has Come" America's national parks are becoming increasingly popular, with over 330 million visits recorded in 2024 alone. As more travelers head outdoors, the National Park Service (NPS) has been experimenting with different entry and reservation systems to manage growing crowds. That's what federal and state officials discussed recently during a meeting hosted by Utah's Public Lands Coordinating Council. At this meeting, officials revisited the idea of implementing timed entry systems at Zion and Arches National Parks to manage congestion during peak travel seasons. While state leaders have expressed hesitation about expanding timed entry—particularly at Zion—a former NPS superintendent argues that some form of reservation system is becoming unavoidable as park crowds continue to surge.----- She's handling this better than I think I would have

Annual reminder that Home Alone is a Christian movie. Watch this scene very carefully, where Kevin is drawn to the beauty and warmth of the church. As he walks inside to "O Holy Night", he hears the words "Fall on your knees, Oh hear the angel voices!" A sanctuary candle passes across the foreground, indicating that Christ is present inside the church. Kevin then has an encounter with a Christ figure: Old Man Marley. Kevin makes a confession to him, then shakes his hand and we see a bandage on Marley's hand. It's never explained why his hand is wounded, but earlier in the movie we saw that his hand was actually pierced ALL THE WAY THROUGH — like the nails driven through Christ's hands on the cross. At the end of the movie, Kevin cannot save himself from the burglars, and so Marley appears again to rescue him. Home Alone is a Christian movie.----- This guy agrees

Adam Purple was an activist and the builder of a "guerilla garden" on the Lower East Side at Forsyth Street. The city had taken down a block of brownstones and just left the rubble. He and his followers cleared the land and built a 15,000 sq. ft. garden. The city eventually wanted the land to develop and he fought them for years. Eventually, the city won.
His followers had stamps made of purple feet and these little purple feet were all over Manhattan, all leading toward the garden site. Maybe millions of them. I walked across town alot in those days and the footprints were everywhere until they wore out. Purple and his wife Eve rode tricyles with a trailer to Central Park to collect horse droppings for the garden on the bridle trail. Posted by: Code Purple at December 18, 2025 10:33 PM (oftw2) 112

I started watching the video of the Target employee being harassed by the liberal Karen. I had to stop. Why are liberal women such bitches? What galls me is that people who dislike religion act as if religious people are sanctimonious and self righteous. Liberals don't see the sanctimoniousness in themselves. That Target employee was being really nice in face of that nastiness.

Greetings and happy holidaishness, fellow kids.
"Have you watched many Christmas movies yet?" On Tuesday, we went to the theater for a big-screen showing of Scrooged. Our group of five had the theater to ourselves, alas. Would have been more fun with more people. Only problem was, the audio was poor. After the movie, we mentioned this, and an employee told us that theater had a blown speaker and he would turn up the volume for the later showing. Did not offer us a refund or free popcorn. It was okay. Had most of the dialogue memorized. Surprised that, even after mostly annual viewings, there were parts that were still moving. First saw Scrooged in its first run in a crowded Chicago theater. Appreciative audience. You remember that news guy infamous for shouting "stop the hammering"? Realized Frank Cross (Bill Murray) did it first. 🧑🎄 Posted by: mindful webworker - God bless us every one. at December 18, 2025 10:44 PM (WB0Mb) 166

437 So, here's a theory (hard to prove with guy dead, but here goes)... Guy felt wronged in some way that he was not the Physics Wunderkind that the MIT guy became - aka, that guy stole his life. So, 1st, he goes to Brown to get revenge on the school that forced him off the path = grades, whatever - and picks the classroom where it all went wrong Then he drives up to MIT and actually murders the guy he thinks stole his life. Very narcisstic and almost delusional, but would fit a motive to both shootings. And the big promotion and adulation MIT guy recently got set it all in motion...maybe as early as when MIT guy was in the running... You can't get into Yosemite anymore without a reservation, usually a Hotel reservation. The park is over run with foreign tourists, to the point us locals can no longer get into the park at all...
And yeah, that is with the Free Pass us Vets are supposed to get. If you don't plan weeks in advance? don't bother. Even 10 years ago, as I live 2 hours away, if it was a nice day I could throw the bicycle on the car, and go and enjoy the park... not anymore. Posted by: Romeo13 at December 18, 2025 10:28 PM (mP0Kj) You only need reservations if you're using the campsites, otherwise you just pay the entrance fee. And Vets can get a pass that waives the entrance fee entirely. Sure the campsites are busy because it's a crowded park, but if you live near enough just go for the day and head home. She confirmed that both individuals attended same academic program from 1995 to 2000.
Posted by: rhennigantx at December 18, 2025 11:13 PM (gbOdA) Same academic program in Portugal with those dates. Came to grad school in the USA under student visas in 2000. The shooter dropped out of Brown in 2001 (or was kicked out). Moved to Miami.Applied for and got a Green card in Sept 2017. Came back to Boston in October of this year. Rented a car in Boston and changed plates often. Got into the physics building at Brown, that staff have complained about randos doing without ID, and had an altercation with the witness (the homeless guy?) in the bathroom. He later followed him to his car and got the car ID. After the Brown shooting he returned to Boston and killed his fellow Portugal classmate in his home. Had rented the storage unit for months in NH. The RI police/FBI did not have his name til last night. He was dead when they got to the storage unit...it took time to ID his finances last night as he was smart enough to have a certain possible European Sim card that they could not track easily. I can see a critcal look at this mess at Brown and MIT, but I have followed the Kirk murder and local news since it happened. It was not a conspiracy and his own wife says the same. I listened to the RI press conference and part of the MA one. Once the President of Brown said he was on a student visa from Portugal it clicked. Until then it was all over the place on wth happened. The furry had been a hunter since he was a child. He took his grandfather's old rifle as he figured forensics could not trace it to him. He wanted his furry lover to be impressed, along with the furry friends. A gamer. Full scholarship to college (Utah State) and dropped out after one semester. Ususally when this happens it is because they can't fit in or have issues living away from him (gamer). He thought he was the most brilliant person in the room type of nerd. Planned it out. Unfortunately his face was identified and his parents saw him and confronted him that night. Kirk's talk of gheys triggered him and his furry friends. It is as simple as that. The Brown University shooter, Claudio Manuel Neves Valente entered the United States through the diversity lottery immigrant visa program (DV1) in 2017 and was granted a green card. This heinous individual should never have been allowed in our country. In 2017, President Trump fought to end this program, following the devastating NYC truck ramming by an ISIS terrorist, who entered under the DV1 program, and murdered eight people. My uncle decided that he was going to make donut drops - donut batter deep fried but without the toroidal shape. They came out with the symptom you describe: hard as rocks. Brown University currently has 2,735 foreign students on visas.
This past fall, Brown's new policy began admitting foreign students on what they called "Need‑Blind Admissions." It means that a student's ability to pay isn't considered in deciding whether they're admitted. Their costs will be covered 100%, and they will have money put into an account for spending. Yeah, I *do* feel like I'm slacking this Christmas. But why? There's really nobody to bake & shop for, besides hubby...who isn't fully functional. There's no excitement, no anticipation of opening packages. I will bring him some favorite foods, but he was never really into the baked goodies.
At least he knows it's Christmas-time (unlike last year, when he was completely bonkers) but I can't give him the ONE thing he really wants, which is to come home. Neighbors will mostly be out of town for the holidays, leaving tomorrow. No family around. That's almost a blessing, knowing our families LOL! Phone calls. Those will be our Christmas get-togethers. Jimmy Steward of Its a Wonderful Life fame, was for real. He joined the Army Air Corps in Feb 1941 as he saw war coming. He holds the record for fastest advance in rank from Private E1 to full Bird Colonel in 4 years. He flew B24s on multiple combat bombing missions in WW2. In the 1950s he landed a B-58 Hustler - a plane so difficult to land that only the very best Air Force pilots were allowed to fly them. Their high landing speed meant that the smallest error on approach would turn the plane into a large lawn dart. He also flew B-52s, and flew as an observer during an Arc Light B-52 bombing raid in Vietnam. He retired as a Brigadier General; the highest military rank ever achieved by an actor.
