Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Incredible: Up to Forty Percent of the Students at Supposedly-Elite Universities Claim to Be, and Are Acknowledged by the School to be, "Disabled"As you know, people who claim to be disabled get all sorts of privileges, like taking standardized tests -- to the extent they're even required any longer -- without any time limit. But once at college, you can also use your "disability" to take all exams untimed, too. Also, since white people are discriminated against unconstitutionally, it is even more useful to be able to claim you're a minority too, by faking a "disability." (Or, of course, by claiming to be some type of sexual minority, like "queer," which no longer means just homosexual but can mean being an "ally" of homosexuals.) These factors plus universities now being clownshows that eat nonsense and shit failure have resulted in Stanford, supposedly an "elite" university accepting only the highest-performing students, having a student body that is 30% "disabled," almost always with some soft mental "disability" like "nuerdivergence." Things that cannot be easily disproved, in other words.Serek ThompsonEven Steve Jobs' ex-wife's vanity newsletter The Atlantic sees this as a problem. Like cell phones you can look up the answers on. The University of Michigan has two centers where students with disabilities can take exams, but they frequently fill to capacity, leaving professors scrambling to find more desks and proctors. Juan Collar, a physicist at the University of Chicago, told me that so many students now take their exams in the school's low-distraction testing outposts that they have become more distracting than the main classrooms. Accommodations in higher education were supposed to help disabled Americans enjoy the same opportunities as everyone else. No one should be kept from taking a class, for example, because they are physically unable to enter the building where it's taught. Over the past decade and a half, however, the share of students at selective universities who qualify for accommodations--often, extra time on tests--has grown at a breathtaking pace. At the University of Chicago, the number has more than tripled over the past eight years; at UC Berkeley, it has nearly quintupled over the past 15 years. The increase is driven by more young people getting diagnosed with conditions such as ADHD, anxiety, and depression, and by universities making the process of getting accommodations easier. The change has occurred disproportionately at the most prestigious and expensive institutions. At Brown and Harvard, more than 20 percent of undergraduates are registered as disabled. At Amherst, that figure is 34 percent. Not all of those students receive accommodations, but researchers told me that most do. The schools that enroll the most academically successful students, in other words, also have the largest share of students with a disability that could prevent them from succeeding academically. "You hear 'students with disabilities' and it's not kids in wheelchairs," one professor at a selective university, who requested anonymity because he doesn't have tenure, told me. "It's just not. It's rich kids getting extra time on tests." Even as poor students with disabilities still struggle to get necessary provisions, elite universities have entered an age of accommodation. Instead of leveling the playing field, the system has put the entire idea of fairness at risk.We can't just blame the universities. Left-wing Congressmen are also to blame. So these dirtbag fraudsters are just self-reporting "I'm neurodivergent, I have ADHD" with no medical diagnosis at all and Congress says that we must treat this self-diagnosis as real. Coincidentally, I just happened to watch this interesting video about people -- mostly women -- self-diagnosing themselves with a novel and quite fake new syndrome called "AuDHD," which is, supposedly, autism plus ADHD. Autism, which involves fixating on something and focusing on it to the exclusion of all else, plus the inability to focus on something. This woman, who I guess is a psychologist or psychiatrist, says that this fake diagnosis is gaining traction because psychiatrists just can't say "no" to patients. If some moron comes in claiming they are both hyper-focused and yet cannot focus, the psychiatrist just says "Yes." Why are psychiatrists board certified if any asshole off the street can self-diagnose? This woman points out that one of the women claiming to have this nonsensical diagnosis is clearly not autistic, as, for example, she admits she craves attention and validation -- something autistics usually don't care about -- and deploys strategies like "mirroring" and "love-bombing" to manipulate men into falling in love with her. As she says: Autistics wish they could deploy the tactic of personality-mirroring to make people fall in love with them. But actual autistics cannot even understand other people's specific personalities, nevermind being able to "mirror" them, that is, act just like them so that the other person sees you as a kindred spirit. If autistics could just "act like other people" then, get this, they would not be autistic. But just as with the trans fad, young women are determined to diagnose themselves with some "hot" new mental illness, and just like with the trans fad, alleged medical professionals are too afraid to tell them that they're full of shit and need to grow the hell up. Reminds me of Penn and Teller showing how ridiculous the Americans with Disabilities Act requirement to make "reasonable accommodation" was by rolling someone around in an iron lung. I'm a Type 1 diabetic since I was 4. (Genetic, not because I was a fatso).
I was encouraged back in the late 90's to claim that I was disabled when I went into a state university since it would have the government pay my tuition and get me advanced access to sign up for classes early. All I had to do was meet with some disability office or something. I always thought it was a fraud - but I did it because I wanted to spare my parents the burden of paying my tuition. Then I started working part time during my sophmore year and thus paying my own way through school - and stopped claiming disability. I'm not disabled. I can't eat cake. Thats not a f'ing disability. If everyone is disabled, then no one is. These kids are only acting in their own self-interest. You can't blame them (or the parents) for that.
Being "disabled" gives you all kinds of advantages educationally and probably financially too. Any kid who doesn't do this, when everyone else is, is at a yuge disadvantage. If you can't beat em, join em. If I could do college all over again, I would absolutely claim I was native american. I am to a tiny degree. Why not take advantage if everyone else is? My biggest advice to any kid of today applying to college is to find some hook or angle -- anything -- that can make you some kind of minority. Putting down "minority" on your application (and later job resume, etc) will get you further in life than anything else will. Posted by: Elric The Blade at December 03, 2025 01:28 PM (iFTx/) 30

Now was Cuellar guilty? Of course he was, but probably no more guilty than any other Democrat Congressman, or Republican for that matter. So why was he singled out? Because he opposed Biden on immigration, and as a hispanic office holder from the border region, his voice carried some weight. So Biden's FBI crucified him. Nice move by Trump. This woman, who I guess is a psychologist or psychiatrist, says that this fake diagnosis is gaining traction because psychiatrists just can't say "no" to patients. If some moron comes in claiming they are both hyper-focused and yet cannot focus, the psychiatrist just says "Yes."
________ Of course. The psychiatrist knows that if he doesn't say "yes," someone else will, and the first psychiatrist will lose a patient. When I was a baby lawyer I was often asked to research and opine on proposed conduct or business decisions by clients. A client would want to do X, and asked a lawyer if it was legal. Some of the Xs were way out there, clearly illegal. So my memo basically said "no you can't do this." The senior partner told me "never tell a client he can't do something. He'll just ask someone else and we'll lose a client. Say something like 'this would be risky, and here's how it might best be done to minimize the risk.' But don't ever say 'no.'" The supervisor then returned fire, striking Lakanwal [hitting him 3 or 4 times], before a witness "jumped on" Lakanwal as he tried to reload his revolver, court documents allege, according to the Post. I was in an extra time room - with pretty much everybody on Law Review. And prior to the test, they were complaining how they weren't getting extra time on the actual State bar exam! It turned out though rich women are willing to pay a ton of money to have a guy with a degree listen to them talk... Posted by: 18-1 at December 03, 2025 01:35 PM (sKqQm) It has been demonstrated (through real studies) that talk therapy is not very useful. Except for that poopulation you mention, the neurotics who just want someone to listen to them. The concept in mental health these days is to use "evidence based" therapies, and if you are skeptical of that phrase, you should be. However, the therapies that HAVE been shown to be effective for the more serious types of mental illness are the ones that use methods, other than "talk." And if non-professionals are out there spewing their garbage about this and that, it just adds to the overall skepticism most people have of the mental health professions. My most h8ed Christmas song of all time has to be...Last Christmas.
Not just because the song is awful because, to be honest, it's not *the worst* Christmas song ever, it's because Wham's music video is just lazy. The 80s had all these amazing music videos and then Wham puts out that turkey with a video probably just consisting of shots of the band on winter vacation in Asspen or the Alps. Of the comprehensive degradation of the society, seemingly no matter where you look, this is one I didn't know about. Though of course it fits right in with the unbelievably pernicious, toxic upside-down world that academia has become.
I recall my sister, back in the 90s, telling me what % of boys in her son's school were "diagnosed" and on some drug (presumably the ADHD one). I literally didn't believe her at first. Every day brings a new revelation that confirms the amazing power of inertia - that the tsunami of self-inflicted ridiculous idiocy flooding the society hasn't yet resulted in general breakdown. Ace, you kinda buried the lede here. The main reason for this explosion of "disabilities" being recognized by colleges is the last part of your post: Congress drastically expanded ADA in 2008 to include virtually any "disability" anyone could invent. AHEAD went further by requiring colleges to basically accept a student's self-diagnosis.
Nobody despises colleges more than me and the wokeness than infects them. But this isn't their fault. This is all required by law. You can thank Congress for this. Congress could easily fix it. They won't. Posted by: Elric The Blade at December 03, 2025 01:52 PM (iFTx/) 254

And let's not forget, Bob Dole, at the Convention, saying his proudest accomplishment as a politician was ... getting the ADA passed.
Posted by: People's Hippo Voice ------------------ That was ironic because he was also proud of not having any special considerations for his own disability. Overcoming hardship is part of life. Yes we should make things accessible, and yes we should make allowances, but if you start telling people that they should give up and grift of their disability they lose a big part of life. Life is struggle. These kids grifting because they understand college is not about education, it is about credential -- that is the start of the problem. ADA was a mistake, and an extension of the "public accommodation" mistake. Fine for gov. to be inclusive and accessible but extending it to private business is theft. The 2022 film Violent Night features a Santa Claus who is revealed to be a bloodthirsty Norseman from his past, portrayed by David Harbour.
In the movie, Santa, whose real name is Nicomund the Red, was once a fearsome Viking warrior known for his brutal violence and pillaging, which he deeply regrets. This dark origin explains his violent tendencies as he confronts a group of mercenaries who have taken a family hostage during Christmas. The film, directed by Tommy Wirkola, reimagines Santa as an immortal Viking warrior who taps into his violent past to protect children, blending action, dark humor, and holiday themes. A sequel, Violent Night 2, is in production and set for release in December 2026. You may now continue. Posted by: @SOEarpiece at December 03, 2025 02:01 PM (jc0TO) 323

Posted by: People's Hippo Voice at One of the ways I was manipulated by my ex-AH was being told over and over no one would want a single mom of a special needs child. It’s kind of a crappy thing, honestly, because not all of us wanted to be that. And I don’t think having a father in the picture paying their share and being an active parent makes you a single mom, either. But that is another conversation, and not my situation. TT is a cesspool of toxic extremism. You don't get noticed by being moderate. You get noticed for taking outrageous positions. So you have the female TT saying "all men are pigs, just use them for their money."
The reason that this sort of content gets attention though is the FNM just straight up lies and eventually people start noticing. Idk, my son's soon to be ex-wife (If she'd sign the papers she wanted done so badly) is adhd and I think she's definitely on the spectrum (physical, taste, auditory over sensitive, lack of being able to maintain eye contact, not at all related) but she's also a borderline and narcissist. I hadn't seen and really didn't know when it released the 3rd and 4th seasons of Shoresy, so I logged in to Hulu (daughter's boyfriend's account) and watched them.
Hulu SUCKS, boy howdy. 2 minutes of show, 2 minutes of commercial. 1 minute of commercial between each episode. Made it difficult to get into the flow of the show. Season 5 is supposed to drop next month.....but it's not floating by boat as it once did, so I won't pressure myself too much to watch it. This is criminal, at least in spirit. These schools funnel state and federal money into bloated bureaucracies instead of education, pushing ideological nonsense while starving STEM, the arts, history, and literature. Our students can’t compete, and taxpayers are left funding the destruction of the country from within. Students walk away buried in debt for an education that leaves them at a disadvantage compared to graduates from other countries.
It shouldn’t be complicated: any school caught doing this should lose its funding without exception and be replaced by building new schools from the ground up. If an institution refuses to educate, let it fail and replace it with one that actually teaches. The academic system has been fucked up for decades, and it’s time to rebuild it around real learning, real accountability, and real outcomes. Posted by: Trip at December 03, 2025 02:17 PM (ZAAkg) 422

So she had a handicapped sticker so that she could park as close to the building as possible in cool weather. I'm sure they like the extra time and resources to take tests after they've gotten into these schools with these "disabilities", but I think the main reason this is so prevalent is that whites are using the "disabilities" as resume enhancers to gain a leg up on their fellow whites in admissions. You're not getting into these schools as a white without some sort of "victimization tale", hence the need to fake being trans and/or invent other "disabilities".

I divide Christmas songs into about four different categories:
1. Religious carols about the nativity of Christ (including Advent carols and the Epiphany carol "We Three Kings"); 2. Songs about the celebration of Christmas (e.g., "Deck the Halls"); 3. Santa songs; 4. Winter songs, celebrating snow (which everyone goes back to hating once the holidays are over), sleigh rides, etc. Posted by: Bulg at December 03, 2025 02:29 PM (77rzZ) 483

I love that movie. It's like Christmas at my inlaws, if my inlaws were Plantagenets rather that Georgia crackers.

417 Idk, my son's soon to be ex-wife (If she'd sign the papers she wanted done so badly) is adhd and I think she's definitely on the spectrum (physical, taste, auditory over sensitive, lack of being able to maintain eye contact, not at all related) but she's also a borderline and narcissist. Her entire life is organized around "likes" on instagram.

Brian Setzer has done several swing Christmas albums that I like. He's got a musical sense of humor.

459 People with Reynaud's are very adversely affected by cold. Someone may interpret that as "allergic" to cold, although that's technically not accurate.

At the University where I don't teach anymore, except then I need beer money (and I'm low on beer) the infantilization of the students is incredible. The staff are instructed to do everything they can to make sure all the little boys and girls feel safe and warm every day and especially around holidays and midterms. The goal of course is the make sure they return the next year. Private schools like this one are getting their financial asses kicked by a drop in returning sophomores and juniors.

Talked the First Lady into requesting one during chemo. That stuff wiped her out, so parking close to whatever when we DID go out was a Godsend. it's since expired, so back to normal.
Posted by: Sponge - F*ck Cancer at December 03, 2025 02:27 PM (JA4sW) Hope the First Lady is regaining her strength nicely. I'm about 5 weeks post-radiation and doing good. Working on getting strength back. God is good. Posted by: Our Country is Screwed at December 03, 2025 02:32 PM (N39Ws) 498

I have a permanent gimp sticker. I walk just fine. it's my lungs that are screwed up.
I worked witha young woman that came down with pancreatic cancer. She was on chemo, stopped at a store with her son. She had a handicapped sticker and was parked in one of those spots. Came out to find a nasty note on her windshield, telling her she had no business using that spot. She died a few months later. Posted by: Notsothoreau at December 03, 2025 02:35 PM (+mUZM) 501

Extra time on your test: Back in my Army days, the first time I did my annual SQT test as an Infantry Private, I knocked that shit out in about 1/3 of the allotted time. First soldier to finish. The division SQT NCO asked me where I was going, and I told him I was going to the latrine and then waiting for the rest of the company. He responded "No, you aren't finished. Go sit back down and check your work." So I sat and looked at the test booklet for about 3 minutes without touching my pencil and then brought it up for grading. Perfect score, bitchez. That didn't go over well... Posted by: IllTemperedCur at December 03, 2025 02:43 PM (y9nCu) 504
