This is exactly the 3rd World sensibility that we are busily importing. Respect for human life is a joke in most of the world, but the West has managed to change that, by elevating the individual to primacy. Respect for the law, in this case construction regulations, is a shell game in all but the West. Fake the paperwork, use fake and cheap materials, bribe the inspectors, do what you must to maximize profit, and if a few people die? Oh well! And the state is no better. Building inspectors actively solicit bribes in most of the world! And the regulations written by the regulatory bodies are laughable in their lack of teeth. But we are busily bringing that mindset to America! Sure, there is corruption in America, and there has always been, but our minimum standards, even with crooked officials are far higher, and more stringently policed than anywhere else. But the breathtaking thievery of the 3rd World is a level that we have never even approached here. Soon though! Comments(Jump to bottom of comments)1

Overview of the Stockton Mass Shooting
On the evening of November 29, 2025, a mass shooting erupted at a family gathering in Stockton, California, which local officials described as a child's birthday party held at a banquet hall near the 1900 block of Lucile Avenue. The incident, occurring around 6:00 p.m. local time, left four people dead and at least 10 others injured, with reports indicating that a total of 14 individuals were struck by gunfire. Victims ranged in age from children to adults, and children were among both the fatalities and the wounded, including some as young as 9 years old. The shooting has shocked the community, prompting widespread grief and calls for action on gun violence. What Happened Location and Context: The event took place at a banquet hall adjacent to an ice cream shop (initially misreported by some sources as occurring inside the shop). Stockton Vice Mayor Jason Lee confirmed it was a child's birthday celebration... Grok summary: https://bit.ly/3XWfLLJ Posted by: Clyde Shelton at November 30, 2025 12:11 PM (P5BPp) 14
Investigation and Suspect Status
Suspect(s): No arrests have been made, and the shooter — or possible multiple shooters — remains at large. Authorities believe the attack was targeted, potentially linked to a personal or gang-related dispute rather than a random act. Social media speculation points to involvement of local rappers (e.g., MBNel and Dougy3z) who were reportedly in attendance, tying into Stockton's history of gang violence involving groups like the Asian Boyz and various Crips factions. However, police have not confirmed these details. Motive: Early indications suggest it may stem from a local feud, given Stockton's elevated homicide rate (3x the national average, with 87 murders in San Joaquin County in 2024 alone). The SJCSO is reviewing surveillance footage and witness statements. Grok summary: https://bit.ly/3XWfLLJ Posted by: Clyde Shelton at November 30, 2025 12:12 PM (P5BPp) 15

Years ago, a black Washington Post reporter wrote about his (unpleasant) time stationed in Africa, and came up with a simple rule - in First World countries, when there is a disaster, you know how many people died in the disaster. Occasionally we get video of urban shoot outs and...its like a rap video for real. People spraying and praying into crowds because the guy they want to shoot is in that general direction. Cops will tell you rap videos are great because it has persuaded urban thugs to have terrible fire arm discipline...but it does mean almost inevitably a bunch of bystanders are going to get shot. The Washington Post reporter had a funny story about trying to enter Angola, and the customs person claimed that the reporter's passport was a forgery (trying to solicit a bribe, of course). The reporter responded: "You'll agree that if this passport is a forgery, it is a very high quality forgery, right?" The customs official agreed. The reporter continued: "And if I had such a high-quality forgery, wouldn't I be using it to leave Angola, rather than enter Angola?" The customs official didn't have a response - obviously, no one would use a high-quality forged passport to enter Angola. Posted by: The ARC of History! at November 30, 2025 12:23 PM (xTIDn) 33

MBnel is a Filipino American rapper who has built his musical identity around his experiences growing up in Stockton. His stage name is a nod to his crew, the Muddy Boyz, and Mattie Harrell Park, a known gathering spot in his neighborhood.
--- However, his affiliation with the Muddy Boyz has also drawn police scrutiny. In a 2020 gang investigation named “Operation Criptonyte,” which targeted several gangs including the Muddy Boyz Crips, MBnel (whose real name is Jhonel Dongon) was arrested on charges of false compartment activity and possession of a controlled substance. Here's something. As many of you know, Dr. Robert Malone was one of Fauci's fiercest critics in the medical community about everything having to do with the china virus and particularly the vaccines. The FDA appears ready to finally start telling the truth about the vaccines and equally important changing how they evaluate new vaccines. Worth a read. https://tinyurl.com/484nmr3c Posted by: JackStraw at November 30, 2025 12:32 PM (viF8m) 56

Everything else is a distraction for electoral fraud.
Nothing has been done to address the issue. The communist Democrats realize it is still the key to gaining power. There are substantial questions about the last election in places like NJ. Those questions are rooted in improbable statistical anomalies such as Democrat voter increases inconsistent with registration and population demographics. And yet nobody is paying attention. Not even Congress. As long as they view raising material, substantive questions about election as some kind of third-rail, Grassy Knoll adventure, we are headed for destruction, and yes, the third-world. That was the point of the so-called "Muslim ban" - that it is impossible to vet people from certain countries, either because the country's government is hostile, or because the country's government is so dysfunctional that there are no central police records. I did meet One honest inspector, an American (iykwim), and he busted the landlord, BLDG Management, for electrical code violations in our 5-floor walkup. $25,000. But the most dangerous wiring, ha told me, was grandfathered in. BLDG was a huge company that had about 4,000 apartments and was run by Lloyd Goldman. Look him up. And one of the cute things they would do is they would gut-renovate vacated Apartments and put in a control panel for the electricity and tell their new tenants they had 60 amps to play with... but the line to the cellar was still a 15 amp line so they constantly be tripping their circuit breakers. Not only did his repeated survival not speak to mob involvement but the manner of the attempts was amateurish. Finally, they got him. He was boxed in at a McDonald's drive through when the shooter ran up to his car and fired at point blank range four times. The cops finally figured it out. Vetting of in-country assets on the battlefield was never perfect, nor was it a static process. It often had a shelf life as you determined the reliability of that asset, what other assets said about that person, or whether the Tali got to their families and turned them. There were a lot of Afghans with whom we had casual or pedestrian contact, or whom during the course of operations “helped” us. But there were probably a handful who were ultimately deemed reliable or trustworthy. That latter group are the people some guys when to bat for when Biden was abandoning the country. It’s definitely not all of the people that were allowed to settle here. It’s also important to remember what I first stated. That is, we couldn’t really fully “vet” people in-country. It was ultimately based on contact. Ergo, there is zero way to reliably vet these people once they’re here. Overall, in general, I wouldn’t trust people the agency deemed as assets unless it came from someone in operations. See Camp Chapman as one example why.

Unions shot themselves in the foot by joining themselves at the dick with the DNC. Even now when most union membership is pro-Trump the leadership can't stop until Adam Schiff gets a reach-around. The rest of it is just evading US law. Some of that law's good, a lot of it's retarded. (Basing nuclear energy policy on retarded activists' opinions was, in particular, really really dumb). Per Marcus T's solid comment on A'stan above, those seeking more info on the long ultimately (mostly) fruitless effort should read "The Hardest Place", about the Pech Valley. Can't summarize here. But it traces our efforts in one key area over the years. Won't validate any/many of the cartoonish opinions that predominate on the general topic, but very interesting.

The unions ultimately hosed themselves. By making themselves the implacable enemy of Republicans, when NAFTA was proposed they had no friend in that party that could tell the nation that it was a long-term bad idea. All Republicans cared about was crushing the overly political unions, while ignoring the areas where the unions actually had a point.
Posted by: Darrell Harris at November 30, 2025 01:56 PM (0CU3H) The ONLY points unions have are stopping competition, erecting barriers and eventually pricing the labor they "represent" out of the job market. They have had their day. And, free trade or no free trade, their time came and went. Posted by: Cow Demon at November 30, 2025 02:03 PM (4786I) 210

A lot of the "Robots are here, nobody needs to learn or work and money won't exist soon" talk lately from unexpected sources. Utopian places always have some old fraud behind the curtain. Pope Leo: Palestinian state 'only' solution to Israeli conflict
Imagine going back a few hundred years and telling the then Pope that his follower will be calling for a return of the Holy Land to the Muslim invaders. If the RCC wasn't so compromised that was lead to his removal from office. Posted by: 18-1 at November 30, 2025 02:07 PM (sKqQm) 215

Posted by: Cow Demon at November 30, 2025 01:54 PM (4786I) The older generations are insisting on getting their bennies subsidized, and no one else is willing to be left out in the cold. However, even if we dropped all tariffs and regulations, we will still get raped because countries we trade with both subsidize their own exports, and restrict and tax imports to support their own industries. It isn't fair, but it is how it currently is arranged. Posted by: Kindltot at November 30, 2025 02:07 PM (rbvCR) 217

Posted by: Ian S. at November 30, 2025 02:02 PM (QZThv) This is the kind of thing that runs off business. What would happen if the feds ditched strangling regulation, energy was cheap and plentiful, and the schools cranked some competent human capital? The country, I submit, would have an extremely diverse economy (with yes, lots of The Only Jobs That Matter - manufacturing jobs - mixed in) with the portions of the country in dire economic straits being those like CA, IL and NY that were yesterday's news and have state and local governments that are utterly hostile to business and runs people off to other parts of the country that welcome them. And since I have no clue which one is the Aggies and which one is the Longhorns, I have no idea who actually won the game.
Texas A&M is the Aggies (the A originally stood for agricultural, the M for mechanical - as in engineering - located in semi-rural College Station TX) while the Longhorns are the University of Texas (in Austin). If you don’t know the nicknames, why would you care about the score? Posted by: NemoMeImpuneLacessit at November 30, 2025 02:39 PM (ZVgZ4) 228
