Under Questioning By, Surprisingly, the Leftwing Media, Democrats Admit They Can't Name Any Illegal Orders Trump Has Issued

Seditious Senator Mark Kelly, who's currently under investigation for a possible court martial for urging US troops to defy their Commander in Chief, ran to Rachel Maddow to whip up the hard left to support him.

Even there, though, he was forced to admit that Trump never issued an illegal order.

MADDOW: "When you and your colleagues made that video, were there specific, potentially illegal orders that you were thinking about that were the sort of precipitating cause for you guys to get together and do that?"

KELLY: "Here's the thing, Rachel. You don't want to wait for your kid to get hit by a car before you tell them to look both ways."

So he's admitting he's urging troops to defy the Commander in Chief based on their own guess as to what is or is not an illegal order, and even threatening that a future Democrat president may imprison them for not defying Trump -- and this is all based on nothing except the always-present hypothetical possibility that an illegal order could, maybe, possibly be issued in the future.

AWFL and CIA C*nt Elissa Slotkin likewise admitted no illegal orders had been issued to ABC's cadaverous wallflower Martha Raddatz.

At JusttheNews, Jerry Dunleavy writes about the threat Democrats are making to prosecute troops for obeying the duly-elected Constitutional Commander-in-Chief.

'Sedition'? Democrat bid to foment Trump resistance inside U.S. military draws blowback

Democrats also made thinly-veiled threats that U.S. troops and spies will be in legal jeopardy if they don't defy such alleged orders.

Democrats released a video last Tuesday purporting to support U.S. service members and intelligence officers who would defy illegal orders, but some of those Democrats have also made thinly-veiled threats that U.S. troops and spies will be in legal jeopardy if they don't defy such alleged orders.

The half dozen Democrats from the House and Senate -- five of them veterans of of the U.S. military and one a former CIA analyst -- released a video that argued that "you must refuse illegal orders" and professed to servicemembers that "we have your back."

But a number of the Democrats in the video have strongly implied that troops who don't disobey orders that the Democrats believe to be illegal could face criminal prosecution, with the Democrats conjuring warnings tied to prior prosecutions of Nazi war criminals at Nuremberg, of U.S. Marines in the film A Few Good Men, of troops stationed at Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq, and of soldiers involved in the My Lai massacre in South Vietnam, implying current U.S. troops could face the same fate.

The congressional Democrats were also not on the same page about whether the U.S. military was currently engaging in illegal activities, with some Democrats admitting that they were not sure if any current U.S. military actions were illegal, while others have previously said or are currently saying that U.S. troop deployments to American cities and U.S. strikes against Venezuelan drug-running boats are illegal.

...

The Democrats released a joint statement on Thursday saying, "What's most telling is that the President considers it punishable by death for us to restate the law. Our service members should know that we have their backs as they fulfill their oath to the Constitution and obligation to follow only lawful orders."

Secretary of the Department of War Pete Hegseth said on X on Monday that five of the six Democrats in the video don't fall under the jurisdiction of the Department of War and the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) because "one is CIA and four are former military but not 'retired', so they are no longer subject to UCMJ" but that "Mark Kelly (retired Navy Commander) is still subject to UCMJ -- and he knows that."

...

The video continued: "Our laws are clear: You can refuse illegal orders. You must refuse illegal orders. No one has to carry out orders that violate the law or our Constitution. We know this is hard and that it's a difficult time to be a public servant. But whether you're serving in the CIA, the Army, our Navy, the Air Force -- your vigilance is critical, and know that we have your back. Because now, more than ever, the American people need you. We need you to stand up for our laws, our Constitution, and who we are as Americans. Don't give up, don't give up, don't give up, don't give up the ship!"

The six Democratic congressional offices did not immediately respond to requests for comment sent to them by Just the News.

A number of the Democrats in the video have suggested that U.S. troops could be prosecuted for following purportedly illegal orders issued by President Trump or Secretary Hegseth. As of publication time, none of the orders issued by either Trump or Hegseth have been declared "illegal" by any court or authoritative body of law.

Houlahan told MSNBC on Saturday that the point of the video was to tell U.S. service members that "we've got your back." But this message was seemingly diluted by other Democrats in the video hinting at potential prosecutions.

Slotkin appeared Sunday on ABC News' This Week talking about how U.S. service members can figure out whether an order is illegal, and the Democratic senator immediately brought up the Nuremberg trials against Nazi war criminals and the movie A Few Good Men where Marines are prosecuted at Guantánamo Bay.

"I don't -- I mean, going back to Nuremberg, right, that 'well, they told me to do it, that's why I murdered people' is not an excuse. If you look at popular culture, like, you watch, you know, A Few Good Men, like we have plenty of examples since World War II, in Vietnam, where people were told to follow illegal orders, and they did it, and they were prosecuted for it," Slotkin said. "So, the best thing for people to do is go to their JAG [judge advocate general] officer, their local law enforcement, or a legal officer in their unit, and ask for some explanation, ask for help. And that's what we've been advising people to do."

J.D. Vance called the Democrats' demand that troops guess which orders are illegal and defy those orders they guess are illegal an illegal suggestion itself, because the military specifically forbids troops guessing whether orders or legal or not. The military only says troops may defy orders that are manifestly illegal, -- obviously illegal, on-its-face illegal, no question about it illegal -- not "possibly illegal" or "arguably illegal" or "Rachel Maddow told me it was illegal."

Otherwise, think about it: Military orders mean nothing. Every single troop would be empowered to refuse any order, claiming that in his personal, private estimation, he thought it might be illegal.

This is the interesting bit to me. Trump/Hegseth are busily purging the military of the wokies (for short.) I think this is the dems, in part, trying to set up justification down the road for a purge of their own (they can't use physical fitness standards or straight out say they only want antifa.)

55 The entire goal of their charade is to bring the political, into the military. That’s been the sine qua non of Democrats continuous effort to undermine the military. What this Clown Patrol has done is try to impact operations by creating doubt about the legitimacy of orders. On other shows what they’ve done is suggested missions such as the NG deployments to cities and the Venezuela mission are illegal. That idiot from Arizona (you guys must be so proud) has now suggested they will go after anyone involved in those efforts. By the way, all of those efforts have been found legitimate by the DoJ using the same standard as past efforts like Clinton’s intervention in Haiti- so, no not some one-off. The CoC on these operations also includes a JAG. So don’t fall for their bullshit that people are running for clearance so they won’t be prosecuted. They’re doing it because that is the process. I think they did, and knew that the controversy would stretch it in the news cycle, to keep it visible to their base, and to that huge mass of AWFLs out there. It's a GOTV move. Everything they do for the next 11 months will be one form of Trump resistance or another.

Just like those special elections recently were a referendum on Trump, so will the mid-terms.

exactly. As long as they're more than 12 miles from the coast, it's international waters. Which in fact is something they use to their advantage when offloading; the drug boats rendezvous with some local fishing boat outside the 12 mile limit to take a part of the cargo, and the fishing boat looks like a hundred other local fishing boats when it gets home. Up until now they were home free.

80 I saw the movie Sinners last night. Wtf? The critics obviously reviewed this on a heavily-biased DEI scale.

While I did think some individual scenes were very good, the movie was an over-long, jumbled mess that made no sense. Even after piles of expository dialog, I still wasn't sure who was doing what and why. Almost nothing happened in the first hour and a half, and the last hour had nothing to do with the first.

And for $100M, you'd think they'd have hired a real cinematographer? Somebody thought it was a great idea to shoot a dark-skinned black cast in very low light, without ensuring any "key light" illuminated their faces.

The movie is also a rip-off of From Dusk Till Dawn.

As the cops turn back to the office after taking her into the hallway, the guy she had on scene shooting video dismounts his camera to follow her, showing the mount on his tripod, and then also the still photographer she had on scene to capture her poignant moment of agony at the hands of Trump's fascist, manocratic police state.

154 As I said in Diogenes' previous thread on the topic, this mostly empty stupid political posturing controversy is sort of trivial compared to the stunning incitements to violence against federal law enforcement (ICE) that have become common among many elected public officials.

Maybe I'm missing something but cannot recall in my lifetime or recent history prior a situation in which there was a widespread ongoing and active threat to fed law enforcement, with many actual attacks and foiled plots, with elected officials pumping enormous quantities of fuel onto the fire with outrageous incitement. Publicly. Ostentatiously.

Our system is mostly designed to take of such behavior via the ballot box, but that of course is academic with a dumbed-down, disconnected, ignorant electorate (controlling majorities). Black swans like Trump are just that.

"That Senators generally perform certain acts in their official capacity as Senators does not necessarily make all such acts legislative in nature Members of Congress are constantly in touch with the Executive Branch of the Government and with administrative agencies -- they may cajole, and exhort with respect to the administration of a federal statute -- but such conduct, though generally done, is not protected legislative activity. Yea, there was some version of that scene that could have been good, but not that one. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to laugh at the modern comical rapper dudes cheaply superimposed on a bad long take, or not.

It also would helped if the supposedly supernaturally powerful music wasn't generic blues that any decent musician could have written in 20 minutes.

The last thing we need is a smoldering terrorism war (Putin doesn't really need that either if he wants to stay in charge). The Russians ain't got the troops to do what was done in the USSR and Warsaw Pact days for occupation and I guarantee that arms, etc will be entering from all sides to make occupation a misery and a massive threat into widening the war to include NATO members.

To some degree, Israel has the same problem, unless they run a war of extermination or somehow force the Palestinians to exit Gaza and/or the West Bank, they will simply bide their time until the next attempt. If Israel did either force Palis out of Gaza and the West Bank or try to exterminate them, then in turn, probably all the Arab states would be destabilized to the point of regime overthrows in some of those neighboring states.

Sometimes being stronger than the enemy is not enough 'win' strategically.

Leave it in the original wrapping.
Put it in your kitchen sink.
Fill the sink with cold water.
Then either change the water every 30 minutes, or leave cold water trickling.
You'll need to do this for 30 minutes per pound.
For a 20 pound bird, this will be 10 hours.

For almost 200 years, there was no such thing as a dual citizen in the US... until the Supreme Court over rode the clear Constitutional power of the Congress to regulate Citizenship and immigration issues.

Because the Founders never intended there to be any dual Citizens, the ONLY requirements they put in the Constitution for offices was you had to be a Citizen... but when the Supremes screwed that up, no one has ever bothered to address the issues when you have people of divided Loyalty, holding major Offices.

We need to fix that.

Don't do a whole bird from frozen.

278 My Lai narrative made any fucking sense. An officer went native and started going all Colonel Kurtz; a Warrant officer and helo crew stopped him. What's the controversy?

Yes, it was a crime. It was stopped in progress.

You can argue that Calley's sentence was too light, and I'd agree - but the crime itself was shocking because it was exceptional, and no civilian authority apprehended Lt. Calley. That was done on the scene, by his own inferiors, who were enforcing directives from above him.

279 There is a body of law, particularly in fraud, where the jury is permitted to infer that the speaker intended the listener to be deceived--even if what the speaker said was technically correct.

The law, when it's not being subverted by clown judges, is pretty well equipped to deal with technical equivocations.

And I think that applies here:
Yes, what they said was not, technically, illegal.
But they also knew exactly how it would be heard.
And that was their real intention--that it was to be heard, by the troops, as "Trump is issuing illegal orders and you must defy them."
Any other interpretation is nonsense and lies.

Prosecute them for that--their intention to incite.

Don't do a whole bird from frozen.
1. It takes 50% longer to cook.
2. Do NOT put stuffing inside a frozen bird, it won't reach the recommended temperature.
3. The breast meat will be drier
4. The outer meat will overcook compared to the inner meat

Laws are for controlling and punishing normies, not the downtrodden, poor, or otherwise oppressed. For example:

Last year, there were 3,325 occasions when courts declined to send a newly-convicted man or woman to prison despite them having 50 or more previous convictions. In 252 of these cases, the person in the dock had more than 100 past convictions yet was still not jailed.

Does everyone have their turkeys defrosted?

If it's still frozen, here's what you've got to do:
Leave it in the original wrapping.
Put it in your kitchen sink.
Fill the sink with cold water.
Then either change the water every 30 minutes, or leave cold water trickling.
You'll need to do this for 30 minutes per pound.
For a 20 pound bird, this will be 10 hours.
Get started right now if you haven't already!

I knew such casual brutality happened in the East but I didn't it was also in France.

Posted by: Matthew Proctor at November 25, 2025 01:11 PM (OdsgZ)

When you're talking about Law, language is important. No, they are NOT openly calling for a military coup - that sounds like "Hello Joint Chiefs, I want you to conduct a Military Coup at 9 AM tomorrow morning, and I will support you completely."

What they are doing is hinting in a wink wink, nudge nudge roundabout way that they might not mind if such a thing would happen. Which of course is reprehensible, but that's a political matter to be handled by political means, not a criminal matter.
I think the best way to address it would be for the President to do a prime time address to the nation from the Oval Office, stating what they had done, that they were doing it to support the cartels, and explaining what harm they were trying to accomplish by saying such a thing.
