State pulls X-rated East Harlem club's liquor license after Gothamist investigation

State officials have rescinded an East Harlem club's liquor license after a Gothamist investigation revealed the venue was operating as a de facto adult establishment despite city prohibitions.

The decision effectively closes Bodega Paradise and marks a victory for community members who spent months fighting what they saw as the Adams administration’s indifference to their concerns about the venue's X-rated activities.

The club opened in May after owner Alex Meskouris told Manhattan's Community Board 11 that the business would operate as a breakfast spot and sports bar, making no mention of adult entertainment.

Believe it or not, once upon a time I was young. Never, and I mean Never would I have ever thought of doing this "Dark Joke".

A teenage wood shop apprentice in Turkey died after his co-workers inserted a high-pressure air hose up his rectum as a horrific “prank” — the latest incident in which the power tool has killed a young man by exploding his intestines.

The dark “joke” turned deadly Friday when Habip Aksoy and a friend allegedly overpowered Muhammed Kendirci, 15, and tied his hands at the woodworking center in Sanliurfa, according to local outlet Milliyet.

They allegedly forcibly removed his pants and shoved an air compressor tube into his anus — causing severe internal organ damage.

90% chance this kid was gay (or the killers at least thought so), and this is just the local authorities' excuse for a slap-on-the-wrist. Boys bein' boys.

126 Interesting to read that the devil is in the details regarding the President Trump Executive Order regarding the Muslim Brotherhood:

Why This EO Falls Short: Untouched Hubs and Global Reach

Your point about the EO's narrow scope is well-substantiated by the document itself and broader context. The MB, founded in 1928 in Egypt, operates as a decentralized transnational network with ideological, financial, and political arms spanning over 70 countries. Its "operational hubs" -- Qatar, Turkey, and Syria-linked networks -- remain unmentioned & unaffected. These are the MB's most resilient & influential elements, often shielded by host governments for geopolitical reasons (e.g., Qatar's role as a U.S. military base host, Turkey's NATO status).

Impact of the Gaps: These hubs enable the MB's "grand jihad" strategy, as outlined in the 1991 "Explanatory Memorandum" (unsealed in the Holy Land Foundation trial). They sustain the very activities you list -- U.S. financing (e.g., $100M+ to MB-linked U.S. nonprofits since 2010, per ISGAP reports), election influence (e.g., via voter mobilization in swing states), Hamas funding ($1.8B total since 2012)...

They already own tech and not just low level H1Bs. They’re the CEOs of most big name tech companies. Consulting is becoming Indian dominated, Deloitte’s CEO is Indian. They’re also are slowly taking over education and making steady inroads in government. MTG’s BFF in Congress is Ro Khona. Trump celebrated Diwali, a presidential first.

While a few thousand low skill, low wage illegals a month get deported with big fanfare, 5K new Indians in high wage high skill industries are replacing them.

Chimney fires are amazing!! Sounds like a run away freight train, Chug, chug, chug!!! I climbed up on the roof and took the cap off, and I couldn't have dropped a ping-pong ball down the chimney and the landlord said he just had it cleaned, he lies about everything. So I didn't what my dad did once. I lit the stove, opened the flew all the way and shoved a air mattress inflator in the door and let her burn out. I went outside at night and it was snowing and the top two feet of the stove pipe was cherry red and blasting six foot flames into the sky like a pulse jet, flaming ashes landing on the snow covered roof. 260 You know, somebody ought to manufacture and sell tiny coal stoves for RV's cabins, and trailers. Fit them with an automatic stoker, and a 12 volt computer fan for for forced-air combustion. Rig them to burn pea-size coal. You could sell the coal in those square 5-gallon carboys.

Those Swedish army stoves that run on alcohol are pretty neat for a pot of coffee, I used to use them making coffee in the back yard, when I wasn't using one of the Svea 123 gasoline stoves, or the propane stove. The propane single burner stove flames up a saucepan of coffee in good time, it is too big for the Moka pot.
I haven't had the nerve to run the Aida kerosene pressure stove since I got it at a flea market and it really does look like a brass landmine.

284 This is going to be hard to describe, but I made a coffee water heater using a mini Radio Shack butane torch. This:
https://shorturl.at/mIEJ8

The torch slips onto a bracket, and blows into a 1/2" copper tube, which is sharpened at the other end. The tube has copper crosspieces soldered to collect heat. The sharpened end , with a few twists, cuts a nice water-tight hole through both sides of a 10 oz. styrofoam cup. Boils 10 oz. of water in about 5-10 minutes. Instant coffee in a second cup finishes the job.

Have I mentioned that I travel *really* light while motorcyle campng? The torch, tube, and small zip lock bag of coffee, all fit in the cup.

289 After all I have read in the last week, I am pretty sure Trump became a Republican the moment he realized what the Dems and Epstein were doing.

All of the pictures of Trump with Epstein that the left are claiming is proof that they were BFFs were taken at DNC fundraisers, back when Trump was one of the biggest DNC donors. Trump hosted a lot of DNC fundraisers at his properties.

Something happened around 2012-14 and all of the sudden Trump is starting to cut ties with the dems

Trump said back around 2015 "you guys need to look into this Epstein guy". He was suggesting this to the FBI and the media.

Recently released emails prove that dems colluded with Epstein to take Trump down and failed. They also prove that Epstein absolutely hated Trump.

Deep state dems arrest Epstein to try and take some of the heat off and they decided ultimatley to kill Epstein to shut him up.

The Declaration of Independence was based on the idea that the people of a country should not only decide their own destiny, but be held accountable for it.

The arrogance of the US government since WW2 has been a huge negative to the world fixing problems... why? You cannot fix someone else, they have to fix themselves.

334 >> Hestia was the Olympic goddess of the hirth.

That reminds me. They recently, modelling the formation of the Moon, came up with a new type of astronomical object they dubbed a "synestia", named after "syn" + "Hestia".

A synestia is sort of disc-shaped blob, sort of shaped like a red-blood cell, thinner in the middle, of rotating vaporized and condensing rock. It has too much angular momentum to condense into a spinning spherical planet. The inner region does form a planet, while the outer region coalesces into a big Moon.

And yep, there is a band named "Synestia".

335 Welp. Looks like the last remaining coal mine that sells to the public is (was?) the Dodds Coal Mine in Ryley, AB, which is about 3 hours north of me. With commie faggot Trudeau's carbon tax, it's now close to 200 dollars a ton.

If I were using coal for heat, I might have to start guerilla mining. The shit outcrops all along the badlands of the Red Deer river. Guy could float down the river on a rubber raft, haul ashore in some secluded spot, trek up the bank to a coal seam, mine a few hundred pounds, put it in sacks, and drag it down to the raft. Float downstream to the next boat ramp, and have a helper pick me up.

Boise has a residential district which uses geothermal water for heating. There's only a limited quantity available, so its use is tightly regulated. No hooking up a new house to it without a permit, and I'm sure a permit would be hard to get.

My parents were very strict. If I'd sassed or insulted them, especially as an adult under their roof, I would've found my ass out on the street, pronto, with no apology.

Eject his sorry ass. At some point, even the hardest of kids needs to be cut off.

Kicked the boy out at 18 because he smoked dope in my house (forbidden), and because he couldn't keep a damned job. These are not high bars, but he couldn't seem to get over them.

After a year, he has figured out that he:

Can't couchsurf with a baby on the way.
Can't feed himself by begging and then feed his "wife" as well.
Needs to be a little bit grateful for the housing we have graciously provided him, until the kid is born and maybe longer if he can get his ass on the straight and narrow.

The first time he misses his rent to us, we sell the condo out from under his ass.

They don't learn if they don't feel the pain, I guess.

419 At 34, I was single (freshly divorced) living with a roommate. Had a fulltime job with excellent bennies, paying on a car note & insurance-- no bus system-- and paying off XH's credit card debt. Long story, but worth every penny to be rid of him.

Anyway... it was rough at first. Hard to keep the lights & utilities on. No phone. (This was before cell phones) but I fking *DID IT* without crying to mommy and daddy.

Rent was #1 priority. Keep that roof over my head. I had a beat-up SUV and figured I could live in that, as long as I made the payments, if necessary. Roommate saved the day! She was awesome.

420 All services restored as of a year ago. Many destroyed homes/businesses, some bridges still out. All critical infrastructure restored (especially water). My partcular concern, which I have harped on here, remains the Veterans Restoration Quarters, where we are still feeding Vets, some almost elderly, in a tent. We have temporary shelter, but it is going to take about 2 years, and $2 million to restablish our facility.

You can order up an entire man camp from suppliers in the Lower 48. Packaged living quarters, shower and toilet facilities, kitchen facilities and dining halls. It sure wouldn't cost $2M, particularly delivered to NC. If you need a source I can find you one. I had them delivered to Western Alaska by barge after barging them up from Seattle to Anchorage, which isn't cheap but still pays for construction purposes up there. Can't be that much to just truck them to your site.

I left home at 17, and managed to suck hind tit more often than not until I made it. There are good choices, and bad choices, but eventually there is only one choice, and you take it.

422 Romeo13-- the kid is disrespecting you, in *your* home. He is an adult. He should know better than to bite the hand what feeds him.

Apparently, he doesn't. IMO, it's time for the lesson.

If he receives mail at your home, he is a legal resident at your address.

Eviction would be required, I believe. Serve the papers & see what happens?
