Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | The BBC Apologizes to Trump for the Stitch-Up but Vows It Will Never Pay Him CompensationThis is from the dodgy state media propaganda mill itself. So I wouldn't believe any of it.The BBC has apologised to US President Donald Trump for a Panorama episode that spliced parts of his 6 January 2021 speech together, but rejected his demands for compensation. The corporation said the edit had given "the mistaken impression that President Trump had made a direct call for violent action" and said it would not show the 2024 programme again. Lawyers for Trump have threatened to sue the BBC for $1bn (£ 759m) in damages unless the corporation issues a retraction, apologises and compensates him. Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy told BBC Breakfast she was confident the corporation was "gripping this with the seriousness that it demands", adding her role was to ensure "the highest standards are upheld". But she also told BBC Radio 4's Today programme that the BBC's editorial standards and guidelines were "in some cases not robust enough and in other cases not consistently applied", adding that there would need to be people "at a very senior level with a journalistic background".So what was the problem? Too many hard-left liberals at the BBC? Don't be a sap, Jack! The real problem at the BBC is that they allowed conservative-leaning political appointees on the BBC's board. Political appointments to the corporation's board would be examined in the BBC's charter review, she said in response to a question asking if member Sir Robbie Gibb, a former political adviser to Theresa May, had overstepped his remit and weighed into politics.May was the UK PM and leader of the "Conservative" Party from 2016 to 2019. Her political advisor, presumably, leans right (by British standards, anyway). So that's where the BBC is looking for a problem: There's one slightly conservative man on the board! The problem has nothing to do with the 99% hard-left staffers, "journalists" and editors! Yes it's just this one dude. Once you get rid of him, you will be officially bias-free. You might say "But the BBC was just responding to a (left-wing) 'journalist's' question." Um, no. The BBC chose to insert this claim into their own story acknowledging their guilt in the matter of the doctored video of Trump. The BBC is trying to suggest that there's no bias at the BBC, but if there is any bias, it's just this one slightly-conservative-leaning dude. I'm sure this will not surprise you but the "European Broadcasting Union" also doctored Trump's remarks in a similar way to doctoring of the BBC.
Australian actress Ruby Rose attacked Hollywood megastar Sydney Sweeney, calling her a "cretin" after the recently released film, Christy -- which stars Sweeney -- flopped at the box office. "The original Christy Martin script was incredible. Life changing. I was attached to play Cherry. Everyone had experience with the core material. Most of us were actually gay. It's part of why I stayed in acting. Losing roles happens all the time," a seemingly envious Rose wrote in a Monday Threads post. The Orange Is the New Black actress went on to attack the Euphoria star for the remarks she made in response to Christy's low box office results, in which Sweeney said, in part, "We don't always just make art for numbers, we make it for impact." "For her PR to talk about it flopping and saying SS did it for the 'people.' None of 'the people' want to see someone who hates them, parading around pretending to be us," Rose reacted. "You're a cretin and you ruined the film. Period," Rose said to Sweeney, before asserting that "Christy deserved better." Sweeney -- who stars in Christy, a biopic about lesbian boxer, Christy Martin -- took to Instagram on Monday to say that she is "deeply proud" of the film and "the story we told," sharing several behind-the-scenes photos from the set. In her Instagram caption, Sweeney added that she was "proud to represent someone as strong and resilient as Christy Martin."A female presenter on Sky News Australia pointed out that Ruby Rose's attack on Sweeney for taking the role of a lesbian despite not being a lesbian herself is deeply hypocritical. First, she points out, Ruby Rose isn't lesbian -- she's "non-binary," whatever that means. Maybe she claimed she was "non-binary" so she could play the lesbian character Batwoman. Maybe she was just Gay for Pay-Day. I don't know, but apparently she's not lesbian, so why should she get the role based on that? Second, Batwoman is a Jewish character, and Ruby Rose herself got mobbed on Twitter for not being lesbian and also not being Jewish but stealing the role of Batwoman from whatever lesbian Jewish actress was "owed" it based on identity. Ruby Rose didn't care about that. She took the role. Until she abruptly quit it. But now only lesbians, to which group Ruby Rose does not belong, can play a lesbian boxer. Okay, whatever. Lastly, the low-rated deadeyed diversity hire Abby Phillip says that she has a special mission on The Scott Jennings Show on CNN. (Which is incorrectly called "The Abby Philip Show" in CNN listings.) She says her special mission is to correct all the "misinformation" conservatives believe, because we live in bubbles where we hear nothing but "misinformation" and not the truth that messianic left-wing black women like Abby Phillip have special access to. The BBC's statement is interesting -- and risky -- from a legal perspective.
On the one hand, it all but admits the speech was spliced together to give "the mistaken impression that President Trump had made a direct call for violent action." Usually, when you're faced with a lawsuit, you don't want to publicly admit "yea, I did it." But in many if not most cases, a quick apology and correction will "cleanse" the original defamatory statement, and reduce or eliminate reputational damage. I assume BBC consulted US lawyers and this is the strategy they're going with. Posted by: Elric The Blade at November 14, 2025 04:19 PM (iFTx/) 51

The BBC lies literally every day in their 'newscasts'. There are websites that document this. The BBC also demands that all shows on their network promote homosexuality, which is why the best writer in the history of Dr Who left. Trump is just looking for money. He'll sue his own mother if it means making a buck. The BBC, while flawed, is a wonderful service that must be treasured. It can be reformed and improved.
As a Brit, I'll say this about the BBC, the NHS, and all the other institutions we have: I complain about them, but they are OUR institutions, they are OUR babies. I want them to be BETTER, not gone. God help anyone who tries to take them away from us. While the editing changed the context to regular people, what they did was remove the bullshit filler plausible deniability word salad and highlight the “dog-whistle” elements that his base listens for and hears. Trump posts fake provocative AI videos and insists Abrego Garcia is MS13 based off of obviously highly edited photos, yet the BBC apologizes for publishing an edited/clipped version of his actual speeches. A female presenter on Sky News Australia pointed out that Ruby Rose's attack on Sweeney for taking the role of a lesbian despite not being a lesbian herself is deeply hypocritical.
I don't believe Christy Martin was "born that way". In fact, I believe that she was married... to a man. In fact, I believe that during her entire boxing career she was either dating, engaged to, or married to... a man. She didn't decide she was a lesbian until later. So, unless the movie is about a former boxer who decides she's a lesbian, the lesbian angle is pretty tiny. Just sayin'. It's our version of the Jewish apron or the yarmulke that Orthodox Jews wear. There are levels of covenants we make above baptism, in the temple. We promise certain covenants. Symbols of those covenants are sewn into the garments. So when we wear our garments, we are literally wearing our covenants every day, and making the literal action of putting on our covenants. From a practical level, they are so thin and light they feel like you're wearing nothing. And no chafing. Posted by: LizLem at November 14, 2025 04:28 PM (gWBY1) 125

I love this legal theory. You can do anything to anybody and if you can point to something that could be described as good, there are zero consequences for any wrong-doing.
This is a common idea on the left - that whatever crimes or abuses a leftist individual or organization commit, as long as it is for "the greater good" it is ok. So Bill Clinton raping women? Well, as long as he kept abortion legal he got a pass. Biden and friends fortifying an election? As long as it kept Trump out of office. And on and on. Now the funny part of all this is that leftist leaders know they have this freedom and use it to the hilt. And generally the left uses it when they have no need to. Imagine, for example, the left turning its back on Clinton in '98 replacing him with Gore. Not much changes historically. Arguably they win the '00 election since Clinton's corruption was an issue in that election... Posted by: 18-1 at November 14, 2025 04:37 PM (sKqQm) 186

Sweeney picking a movie as a lesbo boxer was a bad choice considering where she is in the culture right now.
I wonder if she assumed that going lesbo would get her a pass from the FNM since it used to work that way. Some starlet would make out with another starlet in a "stunning and brave" movie and that's all the FNM would talk about... But she'd have to go full on tranny now...removing parts...to get forgiveness from them. Posted by: 18-1 at November 14, 2025 04:39 PM (sKqQm) 198

So, I was scheduled to conduct an interview at this British Pub "The Nauseated Axolotl" with Ricky Gervais, Ruby Rose, and Sydney Sweeney.
I got there first and ordered a pint of Watney's Red Barrel beer for everyone, so we could all have something nice to drink while I interviewed them. Well, they all arrived and Ricky Gervais knew, he knew that I'd ordered Watney's Red Barrel and he said, "Oh, oh you glorious bastard! Watney's Red Barrel is my favorite beer. You!" he pointed at me, "You can ask me anything you like." Then Rudy Rose said, "Fuck! I'm not drinking this piss. I want a Dry Sack Sherry on the rocks with a squeeze of lime." And Ricky Gervais jumped up out of his chair and said, "Now Love, I will not sit here and listen to you disparaged the Crown Jewel of British Brewing Art." "Fuck off, Tubby." Ruby Rose said. 197 Sweeney picking a movie as a lesbo boxer was a bad choice considering where she is in the culture right now.
Ruby wasn't cast to play Christy in "Christy" she wasn't even cast, she was "Initially considered," for a minor role, I think it's a single scene female lesbian confidant of Christy, "before Sugar Tits" was even considered for the starring role of Christy. So because Ruby had a name, not much of one, and had a chance to play a minor role, a CHANCE in an art piece movie that she would have destroyed, she has a right to judge the movies success and the performances because she didn't get the role of "random lesbian #3"

Ruby didn't leave Batwoman because of an injury on set.
She Did get an injury, that was Wildly exaggeraged, she STRAINED her back and delayed shooting for like 2 weeks or something, even though she didn't do stunts, and that was the press put out in support of Ruby. The Real reason, that she outright said, is that the show, with it's budget required compressed shooting and she would be exhausted at the end of every day and she just couldn't, you know as strong people do. Strong people don't work through the stress when they are the tentpole of a fucking show, they just quit. She had no idea that as an actress, as a LEAD actress in a show that had to produce 22 hours of product every year would require a little more effort than showing up for 3 days on a movie set as a very low tier character, so she just quit. She didn't suffer some body altering injury, she just quit because it was too hard to work long hours for 16 weeks out of a year, while collecting more than a million a year. In my best year last time I worked in the states (I'm in AU now) was 92K. I logged 4900 hours total in that time, and it wasn't even a FULL year, I would have closed out at more than 5200. Thomas Bender, the problem is that Hollywood has become so risk-averse it's comical. Largely because the cost of producing a feature film has balooned to astronomical heights.
It now takes 10 studios to make a film, where in the past it took one or two. No one wants to be on the hook for an entire $100 million or more. As a result there's nothing out there but retreads and sequels. And the industry has become hyper-entrenched in its old union ways as well as an utter bubble. It's impossible to really 'break in' anymore as a new talent. It all has to be done outside the system. Posted by: qdpsteve at November 14, 2025 05:12 PM (Cl3L+) 337

>>>A Brussel sprout to me is like a bitter bomb. That taste of bitterness overwhelms everything. I mean, I have to get it out of my mouth before I can eat anything else.
I remember reading some article about these genetic taste variation, and how you can kinda sort of classify people into general categories. Every individual taste is different, but there are broad groups. And, having the bitter gene implies other things, and it was ringing bells for me on what I like and don't. Posted by: publius, Rascally Mr. Miley >I tried to cook Brussel sprout once and it was a disaster. Nasty. I've eaten them at other occasions and there was no bitterness. Someone told me it was all about how you trim the root. Dunno. Posted by: Rev. Wishbone at November 14, 2025 05:15 PM (WFC1M) Posted by: n at November 14, 2025 05:18 PM (nV0d/) 347

That is true. I know of 2 specific ones, I can't recall their technical names, I'm a member of one but not the other. Cilantro/Coriander is, I THINK the most commonly consumed herb on the planet according to bobby flay, but there are like 2-5% of the population that have an odd tick in their brain that doesn't let them taste it like everyone else, to people like me, cilantro/coriander tastes like soap. The other one is capsaicin. There are people who have a whole body reaction to it, rather than just the taste stimulus of the "heat" to those people the pain doesn't stop on the tongue or throat or gut, it's their entire body. so I'm sure that it applies to a lot of other flavors. there are two sorts those who say they hate brussel sprouts and those who say they love brussel sprouts but do not eat them without cream, cheese, and bacon

Those little food switches are weird. Some people say cilantro tastes like soap. For me, all cheese tastes like spoiled milk.
Posted by: I used to have a different nic at November 14, 2025 05:00 PM (ExV1e) I avoided Mexican food for decades because of this. I remember the first two times I had Mexican food at different places and wondered why it rasped like metallic soap. It wasn’t until I had something without cilantro that I discovered I had that enzyme. It’s also why I avoid spinach and a few other things. Fortunately, I discovered my genetic quirk and was able to remedy it before I met with my ex-X2, as she’s from Tampico…. Posted by: goozer at November 14, 2025 05:21 PM (BAs8w) 350
Oops, my terminology is imprecise, but you get the idea. I see they grow in clusters.

It's not that they can't write stuff for old fart me, they can't write anything that 20, 30 or 40 somethings find compelling.
One theory I've seen is that modern scriptwriters are all woke-istas. They have no other life experience so if they go outside of writing woke screeds it falls flat. Posted by: 18-1 at November 14, 2025 05:10 PM (sKqQm) Its not even the wokeness - shows like She Hulk give all the characters the same story as a third rate feminist writer for a TV show rather than a lawyer or superhero. Same with milk. I live in Australia, and my wife is aboriginal. EVERY aboriginal is lactose intolerant, because they have absolutely no genetic history with dairy of any kind other than their mothers tits.

It is interesting how few connect the lying press, the trans bullshit and the endless violent migrant stream to a common source..probably the WEF and their desire for communist control over every aspect of life Surely "you will own nothing and be happy", and "we'll choose the global religion" must be a close relative of abolition of private property, and that opium of the masses shit. I'd also bet that the drugs attempting to pour in is WEF born too.

Same thing with the "stereotype" of native american indians being drunks. They had no genetic history of booze.

"353 It is interesting how few connect the lying press, the trans bullshit and the endless violent migrant stream to a common source..probably the WEF and their desire for communist control"
I think it's less about the communist control for most, though that's the attitude of their leaders, because the people formulating this shit know that they will never live under their own rules. Everyone else, joins in; because, they are joiners, they are losers in reality, they are insecure with themselves and incapable of developing their own persona so they join, and they want to be the cool kids so they join the most absurd shit, and they do it with the power of an zealot who is willing to die on a hill they have never seen. All of the new left were taught they were the cool kids in their schools, by the news, in their limited friend group who refuse to judge them as long as they follow. So, Go along to get along, and in fact, go along and become superior to everyone else. Hasan Piker is a great example. He's clearly a dunce, doesn't know what he means, because he has no meaning, he is just repeating the same nonsense he hears the cool kids say, and he does it with the passion Posted by: wickedpinto at November 14, 2025 05:33 PM (45W1X) 357
