So, Sam Altman recently said that OpenAI was not asking for government loan guarantees to bail the company out when things blew up in their faces, after Trump Administration AI Czar David Sacks said point-blank that no such guarantees would be forthcoming after OpenAI CFO Sarah Friar said that the company was in fact seeking government guarantees for its several septillion dollars in loans, currently backed only by its annual revenues of $3.18.
With me so far?
Well, slight problem. The author of this piece did a little digging and found that Sam Altman went on a podcast just recently to say that the company was seeking such loan guarantees, and documents still on OpenAI's own web site confirm this.
There's a reason I call him Sam Altman-Fried.

The key advance of these models was to swap the 2GB memory chips for newer 3GB ones, increasing the lackluster 12GB of RAM on the 5070 to a more respectable 18GB, and giving the 5070 Ti Super and 5080 Super a high-endish 24GB.
But AI has eaten all the 3GB GDDR7 chips. They're used, for example, on the RTX Pro 6000 card, which has the same chip as the 5090 but 96GB of RAM.
And has a far higher price and far higher margins, and Nvidia is selling all the cards they can make.
On the other hand, we know that these cards can use two banks of memory - the RTX Pro 6000 does exactly that, for example, and so does the much cheaper 5060 Ti 16GB - so Nvidia could simply double the amount of memory on the Super models using twice as many 2GB memory chips, albeit at a somewhat higher price.
- The 5060 Ti 16GB is expected to start disappearing from shelves soon, because the same GDDR7 supply crunch is going to hit cheap cards with plenty of memory the hardest. (WCCFTech)
You can always get a 5070 Ti instead. It also has 16GB of memory, and is not quite twice as expensive.
Or an AMD 9060 16GB model. It's actually cheaper, and since it uses previous generation GDDR6 it's not affected by the memory shortage.

This album is blues and rock n' roll covers and is my favorite Aerosmith opus. I find that covers give me a reference about the musicality of a band. One example is a Springsteen show I saw some years ago. I barely can recall the regular set but the 45 minute encore is still fresh in my mind; that E Street band was a thang at its peak. Honkin' on Bobo gets to that same place.

I never heard Jim Watson speak in person. I did hear Francis Crick do so, and Alexander Rich.
Dr. Watson was a prickly character, by all accounts. I have a relatively well known distant relative at the third or fourth cousin level -- now deceased -- who, by all accounts sounded like a severe and unpleasant person / scientist with a decided liking for the works of Planned Parenthood. I never sought to contact him.

MSI makes a very interesting 27” 4K Mini-LED display with 1152 dimming zones that competes with OLED on everything except the natural 1million:1 contrast ratio but at about half the price for the same resolution.
The Mini-LED actually gets a lot brighter than OLED with HDR Display1000, whereas OLEDs are usually topping out at Display400.
To get even close to the same price I’d have to get a 1440p OLED and still pay $100+ extra for less screen real estate.
I wish there were more choices in Mini-LED monitors. As it is right now there are only a handful of models being made by three or four companies compared to dozens of OLEDs by several manufacturers.

I’ve given up on getting more than five or six hours of sleep a night for now.
No matter when I go to bed I wake up around four to five hours later. I fell asleep a few times this week around 9:30 or 10 and still wake up at 2 or 3.
Which means I just start working around 5 a.m. and stop around 2 p.m.

I don't generally watch tucker, or Candace or definitely not Fuentes. I saw a clip of Tucker ,who alleges Israelis are killing Palestinian Christians , baffled by why people are arguing and calling attention to the murder of Christians in Nigeria. I'm not sure who's paying him but the grift is strong in him

I liked those films, too.
It was a different take on Holmes, especially with the way they showed Holmes' thought patterns as he's figuring things out or boxing, etc.
Had some great humor.
And, yes, Jude Law's Watson was a lot more interesting than the usual portrayal of Watson as a kindly, but bumbling, old fool, like he was in Basil Rathbone's turn as Sherlock in those films.

He was kinda like a kid version of Sherlock Holmes.
I read every one of those books I could get my hands on as a kid in the 80s and I've always wondered why they never tried to turn into a cartoon or series on TV.
I guess the character and books never got popular enough, but that's what turned me on to reading Sherlock Holmes when I was a pre-teen/teen.

Which is understandable as it only ran for eight episodes.
But I was already driving by then and had no time to read children's books or watch kids shows.
I'd like to check it out of it's streaming or on DVD.

In June 2013, Warner Bros. optioned the Encyclopedia Brown books into a feature film. Matt Johnson was in talks to write the movie. Roy Lee and Howard David Deutsch (producer of the 1989 Encyclopedia Brown TV series) and Jonathan Zakin were announced as producing.
