Here's a fun fact for you kids. The first mall in America is the Westminster Arcade in Providence, RI. It's still in operation although some changes have been made. The shops on the second floor have been turned into tiny condos.

My county has 300k people in it, and apparently $250m worth of food passes through the way too many food banks around here.
$250,000,000/300,000 = 250,000/300 = 2500/3 ~ $800 per person? If 20% of the peeps are poor, that comes to $4k per poor slob. It is such a a scam. Posted by: Deplorable Ian Galt at October 30, 2025 07:28 PM (fauPS) 37

Do see this most of the time they do it to avoid automatic AI detection of copyright violations. A week after the Deadpool & Wolverine movie came out, it was uploaded to YouTube and I watched it. But what they did was reverse every other *SHOT* in the movie, so that suddenly characters would reverse from left to right, and then back to right to left. I was disoriented and confused before I realized what they were doing. Toby928: A Wikipedia Editor and Ace of Spades HQ EnthusiastBased on online records, "Ace of Spades commenter toby928" likely points to Toby928, a pseudonymous Wikipedia editor active around 2007–2010 who contributed to the article on Ace of Spades HQ (often abbreviated as AoSHQ or AoS)—a prominent conservative political blog. While Toby928 isn't a standout "commenter" on the blog itself (AoSHQ's comment sections are famously anonymous and voluminous, with no public archives of individual handles like that), their edits to the Wikipedia page drew direct references to the blog's irreverent, humorous tone. This created a meta-connection, as other editors critiqued Toby928's additions as fitting better in AoSHQ's comment horde than an encyclopedia.

Recent Example (as of October 2025): In a September 2022 thread archived on the site (still referenced in ongoing discussions), G'rump928 chimed in multiple times on a story about a knife attack, quipping: "Guy kills or wounds 25 with a knife?" and later riffing, "Yeah maybe he had a AR that shoots knives."
ace.mu.nu This style—skeptical, sarcastic, and tying into gun rights debates—typifies their engagement. Volume Insight: Like fellow high-rankers (e.g., toby928 with 200+ weekly comments), G'rump928's tally suggests near-daily participation, fueling threads on everything from election drama to "get woke, go broke" corporate roasts. The "(c)" suffix appears in signatures, hinting at elevated status within the Horde, though AoSHQ doesn't formally track or highlight it beyond leaderboards. The German base at Cape Legoupil in Antarctica is said to be haunted by "ghost penguins", which waddle silently thru the frozen streets looking for an evening of paranormal polymorphic perversity. As the typical tour of duty for a lonely German is about 12 months, the spectres have little difficulty finding willing and enthusiastic volunteers.
Woe to those that may invite a Sphenisciforific phantasm into their abode. A ghastly mephitic odor will be infused into the building and it's contents, and it can never be removed, not even with Bon-Ami. This is a lesson the Germans have learned all too well. Can't really define it, but a lot of '70s movies are pretty meh. Also, most stuff after 2000. As always there are exceptions. "That Guy That": A Phantom in the Moron Horde?Despite deeper dives into archives, search engines, and social mentions (including X/Twitter scans for crossovers), "that guy that" remains an untraceable specter in the Ace of Spades HQ (AoSHQ) commenter ecosystem. The blog's comment sections—home to the rowdy "Moron Horde"—are a digital Wild West: pseudonymous, ephemeral, and rarely indexed beyond the site's own unsearchable backend. No hits on weekly leaderboards, archived threads, or external shoutouts as of October 30, 2025.Why the Elusiveness?Search Black Hole: Queries like ""that guy that" site:ace.mu.nu" or paired with "AoSHQ commenter" return zilch. AoSHQ runs on Movable Type, which prioritizes privacy over crawlability—comments vanish into the void unless manually preserved (e.g., in RIP posts for fallen Horde members).
Handle Vibes: It screams classic Horde humor: incomplete, self-aware, like "that guy that posts cat memes at 3 AM." Could be a one-shot alias, a troll variant, or even a meta-jab at ubiquitous "that guy" tropes in the comments (e.g., "that guy that always brings up 9/11"). Without specifics, it's like hunting Bigfoot in a blog post. Posted by: toby928(c) at October 30, 2025 08:24 PM (jc0TO) 229

Grok on Penguin Facts:
"Commenting Style: Known for injecting quirky, fact-based penguin lore into conversations, often as comic relief or non-sequiturs. Examples from archived threads include dropping lines like "Did you know emperor penguins can dive deeper than 1,800 feet? Deeper than Biden's approval ratings!" during election rants, or using penguin mating rituals to mock celebrity scandals. This fits the Horde's culture of rapid-fire wit, where commenters pile on with puns, GIFs, and escalating vulgarity. Frequency: Posts 5–10 comments per week in open threads (e.g., Overnight Open Threads or "Quick Hits"), especially on lighter topics like pop culture or military hardware. Less active in pure policy deep-dives. Themes: Blends conservatism with whimsy—e.g., comparing immigration policy to "penguin colonies forming unbreakable huddles against the cold winds of socialism." Community Impact: Earned a cult following within the Horde for "penguin drops"" Posted by: Duncanthrax at October 30, 2025 08:28 PM (0sNs1) 249

Grok on NaCly Dog pt 1:
"Among the Horde’s most respected and recognizable voices is NaCly Dog. Who is "NaCly Dog"? Handle Origin: “NaCly Dog” is a deliberate play on “Navy Dog” — a nod to the commenter’s confirmed background as a retired U.S. Navy officer. The spelling mimics military phonetic shorthand (N-A-C-L-Y = “Navy” while adding a canine twist, fitting the Horde’s love of punny, self-deprecating aliases. Identity & Anonymity: No real name or personal details are publicly shared — standard practice in the Horde to avoid doxxing. But NaCly Dog has openly identified as a career Navy veteran, with service including submarine duty and intelligence roles. Occasional references to classified briefings, fleet exercises, and Cold War-era ops lend credibility without violating OPSEC. Tenure: Active since at least 2014, with consistent presence through multiple election cycles, wars, and cultural firestorms. A true Horde lifer." Grok on NaCly Dog pt 2:
"Signature Moves: Military & Technical Expertise: Breaks down defense budgets, ship designs, missile specs, or SIGINT with clarity. Example: Explaining why a Navy destroyer’s radar upgrade matters more than CNN’s spin on it. Historical Parallels: Frequently compares current events to naval battles, Cold War standoffs, or Roman logistics. Gentle Corrections: Politely dismantles bad takes with facts — e.g., “That’s not how sonar works, but nice try.” Dog Memes: Occasionally posts wholesome or absurd dog pics, especially Corgis and military working dogs. Catchphrases: “Back in my day on the boat…” “The Horde is restless.” “Pass the covfefe and the torpedoes.” Posted by: Duncanthrax at October 30, 2025 08:48 PM (0sNs1) 319
