Take every precaution you can. Listen to your gut. I never thought it would happen to my child.’ Clare Gillespie Even as our uneducated media goes bonkers over another Musk kerfuffle, this time with interim NASA administration Sean Duffy, it is ignoring what now appears to be a strong effort by NASA to cover up some serious issues with the Orion capsule’s heat shield, issues that might be far more serious than outlined in a May 2024 inspector general (IG) report. That IG report [pdf] found the following: Specifically, portions of the char layer wore away differently than NASA engineers predicted, cracking and breaking off the spacecraft in fragments that created a trail of debris rather than melting away as designed (see Figure 3 [shown to the right]). The unexpected behavior of the Avcoat creates a risk that the heat shield may not sufficiently protect the capsule’s systems and crew from the extreme heat of reentry on future missions. Moreover, while there was no evidence of impact with the Crew Module, the quantity and size of the debris could have caused enough structural damage to cause one of Orion’s parachutes to fail. Should the same issue occur on future Artemis missions, it could lead to the loss of the vehicle or crew. I saw your Social Security q the other evening and wanted to add that my experience in 2024 was consistent with what Moki wrote - about two months with payment backdated to when you applied. The surprise for us was in buying the Medigap Insurance. You can't start Medigap until the Medicare Part B shows active, and then it starts the first of the next month. So just want to build that in if it applies. We had COBRA as a backup but turned out we didn't need it. Best of luck to you! A few months ago I fell into a bottomless thing about Jim Morrison. No idea of course where this was, because I barely remember yesterday.
As it is probably known by many (not me, apparently) it is rumored he was not really dead and buried in Paris. Longish story is that he lived into his 60's somewhere in New England. Turning white haired with a beard and a simple job. However, the same scar. His close friends knew and a wife he had. All I really know is he led a pretty messed up life from childhood and it appared his father was a pedo, leading him to further wildness and drugs. And could be a complete arsehole at times. An extra hour of 2025 will be fine with me as it's been a good year with President Trump and a new granddaughter. No complaints. Favorites of Jim Morrison...get up and dance! Roger Goodell could air an ad during the Super Bowl in a room full of stacks and stacks of paper, saying "what you see behind me is a list of the names and addresses of every weekly NFL viewer in the country. The NFL is proud to announce its new partnership with DoorDash, wherein Dashers will be sent to take a shit on every one of their front porches, every week during football season." There would be no noticeable drop in ratings. Just schlubs in their jerseys high fiving each other after the games, while they clean the NFL's poop off their houses and lawns with little Official NFL pooper scoopers. Remember, no matter how Goodel tries to make football more appealing to other demographics, he's already said people can get stuffed over the halftime show. They won't even consider cancelling the America hater.
Posted by: OrangeEnt _--------- Of course he won't. This is big business and big bucks. Even if he wants to, the penalty clauses in the contracts with Jay-Z and Loathsome Lupus would cost the owners enough that he might lose his job. Face it, this year's Big Game halftime show is a lost cause. But, there is a ray of sunshine. If enough people tune out, and especially if they tune in to deliberate counterprogramming, we won't see this shit next year, with an added benefit of maybe never seeing Goodell rancid puss again. TPUSA is attempting to put together this counter. I have no doubt that they will get some big name country acts and hopefully the equivalent Rock people, but the real problem is, as usual, perception. O fortunate me!!! Not only am I half drowning from pulmonary edema caused by my own stupidity, but today I was told I may or may not have shingles in my left eye. I got up this morning and halfway through brewing my morning tea something stabbed me in my left eye. I sloshed it out with Visine, thinking something had gotten into my eye, but whatever kept stabbing. I panicked, thinking that the retina had detached. (My ophthalmologist has been watching that retina very closely for years.) My ophthalmologist got me in as soon as I could get there, and discovered "dendrites" in the eye. That program can get millions of views on streaming media, but without "broadcast" presence it will make little impact. It needs to be picked up by some large-footprint operation. There's no way that you'll ever see it on any OTA outlet, but if multiple cable (satellite) channels handle it, it will show up in the Nielsens, and be un-ignorable. I'd love to see Fox but their money with their mouth is - most of their commenters have made snide remarks about the show - but they aren't going to imperil their corporate relations with the NFL. Years ago, road trips were problematic, at least in rural areas or away from big interstates. Gas stations didn’t have much selection like they do now, not even a little bit. A couple vending machines, that was about it.
Those beef stick cheddar stick combo packs were the best. They were so old they’d pick up a hint of 90 weight gear oil from the adjacent service bay. A can of ice cold OG Mountain Dew, and gtg for another 250 miles. Posted by: Common Tater at October 27, 2025 10:46 PM (fij89) 130

The industrial revolution. They called it the technology revolution, and the way it changed the lives, the way it changed fortunes. The so-called Robber Barons changed the fortune of America. We went from an also ran to number one who had, who got the chunk of money? Who got that prosperity?
We, you know, we the people made more money per capita. We made more money. In Chicago, the Chicago World’s Fair 1893, the debut of consumerism where you actually had extra money, not just enough money to buy seed for the next crop and hope that one didn’t fail but extra money to take your sweetheart for a ride at the fair while you’re eating Cracker Jacks, you know, ... _it’s happening again Posted by: Braenyard - some Absent Friends are more equal than others _ at October 27, 2025 11:08 PM (+JNKR) 176

ASCENDtials;
After repetitive questioning DDG AI coughed this up. The specific funding sources for ASCENDtials are not widely disclosed in publicly available information. However, based on recent data, here are some entities and individuals that have been associated with their funding: Name/Entity Details City of San Diego Partnering for Self-Sufficiency Services. Individual Donors Contributions from community members and supporters. Corporate Sponsorships While names are not specified, partnerships typically include local businesses aligned with community support. Unfortunately, specific names of individual donors or corporations are often not published for privacy reasons and would typically be found in the organization's Form 990 tax filings submitted to the IRS, where notable contributions may be listed. For the exact names of donors or corporate sponsors, reviewing ASCENDtials’ financial disclosures or contacting them directly may provide the most accurate information. Telling a man about a problem, and expecting him to not analyze it and try to solve it, is like throwing a ball for your Golden Retriever and expecting him not to fetch it.

If you do web searches on the company or the name of its president, some interesting things come up. Tatonisha Mika Marzette runs this business out of an apartment in San Diego. Got an SBA paycheck protection plan (Covid grift) loan in 2021. $17K. From the Ascendtials company web site: KOS is (Knowledge Of Self) and Melanin is a black biochemical substance that everyone has that drives emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual life. Melanin is found in the environment, springs, lakes, soil, plants, animals, and the atmosphere. The Pineal Gland secretes melanin, which regulates all functions and glands in the body. Black Bodies have the highest concentration of this biochemical but aren’t aware of how to nourish it or gain positive usage from it. It is necessary to know thyself in order to solve what plagues us most, and that is racial problems. But it is also necessary, should we want to transform our lives and all those with lesser quantities of it. and blah blah blah, it goes on like that for quite a while. Racist turboquackery. Butane is anesthetic and a disinfectant.
My personal carry all working in the yard or general purpose is Dermoplast First Aid, it's the last of its kind and I don't know why. It uses butane as a propellant and Benzethonium Chloride as the disinfectant along with some benzocaine. -------- Used the style for years, put it in first aid kits in all my trucks. Concept is to put the nozzle right up to the wound. It blows out debris with disinfectant. I've talked to Dr.s about it and they turn up there noses. Out of all my people and personal use it is the best thing for small wounds (step on a nail? cut yourself on a piece of raw metal) ever. Back to work on the Avanti this afternoon. Got the alternator mount sorted out. Found a slightly longer belt that permits me to lay the alternator down to the right a little, so the adjusting ear is not so close to the underside of the hood. This required a longer belt tension adjusting brace, so I cut the original and welded an extension into it. Looks like factory, now.
Move on to alternator wiring, now. Shift harnesses around, lengthen some wires, trim others. Alternator and regulator migrated from left side of engine to right side. Un-clutters the left fender apron a bunch, and transfers some of it to the right fender apron. Overall, more balanced, hopefully. Posted by: Alberta Oil Peon at October 28, 2025 01:10 AM (npFr7) 306

I recall my father complaining about the absence of lighter fluid (naptha) during the war, and having to use alcohol. One of the problems was that the flame was almost transparent, and hard to see.

Crikey! Past midnight here, too. Nice to be getting tired at a "civilized" hour, after two uber-late nights on the road. I think I was 17 hours on the road between Apache Junction and Pocatello, ID. Then about 12 from Pocatello to home. Fortunately, at the late hours, highway traffic was very slight, and road/weather conditions were ideal.
Off to the rack. Night, Horde. Posted by: Alberta Oil Peon at October 28, 2025 02:13 AM (npFr7) 347
You gotta flick the extra fluid off a zippo. Only soak the cotton to where it just barley makes it to the top, wait 3 minutes and flick the remaining fluid off.
I discovered Jone handwarmers in Germany. They are like a zippo that smolders and keeps you warm. Kept 4 going every Graf field problem and not following the flick off rule can cause great pain with those. Posted by: Reforger at October 28, 2025 02:14 AM (9dRxv) 348

Speaking as a black LGBT woman, I'd like to thank the Horde for last week's advice on my potentially switching to another bank due to my branch being located in the middle of what might as well be Leningrad in the Soviet State.
It turns out that my national bank doesn't really associate my account with its original physical branch. Instead it assigns a branch and representative based on the account's mailing address. My mailing address are in a relatively sane distant city and state. So there is no need to switch banks or branch.
